Which game are you guys more excited about? HALO 4 or Bungies new game?

Dreams of a world where inflated review scores save studios
We basically don't know anything about Bungies new game but they are on of the most talented developers out there and we only saw 1 Halo 4 trailer so far.

I personally cant wait for HALO 4.

I am more excited for the new thing. More Halo, yipee for the true fan but after 3, I just didn't care. New IP.

I'm largely indifferent but it'd be nice to see if 343 are going to have a more unique take on Halo or if they're just going to make a game that's identical to Halo 3/ODST/Reach with new levels.

I'm curious to see if Bungie can do anything good outside of Halo. Are they a one-trick pony?

But I'm also really curious to see what 343 can do.

I guess I'm more interested in Bungie's project if I have to choose.

Having read the new Halo books, Halo 4.

I know nothing about Bungie's new game, but if it turns out to be an MMO I'm probably not going to bother with it.

Halo 4. Bungie hasn't done anything remarkable since 2004. At least 343i has some real interesting pedigree and a hopefully fresh take on the series.

Neither really, but for the sake of conversation I guess Bungies game because it's not Halo. I'm at least very interested to see what it will actually be. I know it'll be a shooter of some kind but I want to know what the setting and basic story is too.

Halo 4 even though I'm not a Halo fan. Just for the fact that I'm curious to see what competent artists in 343 can do with it.

I just really want to see Master Chief again. Reach and even more so ODST were disappointing to me, and I hope Halo 4 will be a return to form.

I have no confidence in Bungie making another awesome IP, but if they do I'll definitely play it.

Bungie's new game, even though I'm a huge Halo fan. Haven't heard enough about Halo 4 to be excited yet. And the little bits and pieces we are hearing from Bungie is promising. Also I want to know what that talent can tackle.

There's something Bungie has, a certain special magic, the no other studio has. I have absolute faith in them. Their approach to making games appeals not only to my genre and fiction preferences, but also to my personality. That said, I'm still a huge Halo fan and I can't wait to see how Halo 4 turns out. The Halo series was the final leap I made to truly get into gaming, so on my known games list Halo 4 sits at the top and would have to be a massive failure for me to lose interest.

My vote goes to Bungie, because when I see that they're very excited about what they're doing, I get excited too.

Halo 4.

If Reach is what Bungie thought they needed to do, then I have no faith in the company or any of its designers. I'm also excited in what 343i's incredible 'best of the best of the best' team can accomplish.

think we've had this thread before...

but, i'd say halo 4. the gameplay is proven awesome, best-ever, and i'm curious what MS's super team of 343i can bring to the table.

that said, bungie rocks and i am definitely interested in what they are doing. these days, i dont have all the time in the world to game, so the mmo-like rumors have me a bit worried. nevermind the fact that there are ZERO mmo games i've ever shown the slightest inclining of interest for. that said, if the gameplay is fun and the world interesting, both of which i feel confident about, its a day 1.

Halo 4.

I'm desperate for a new Halo online multiplayer, Reach turned out such disappointing hot piece of garbage in that regard. I have confidence that 343i will do good, they're nice, rational, talented folks and have been paying a lot of attention to the community. A few of them are gaffers that post often so they feel like close friends and therefore I really wish for them to do really well and have tons of success.

Kind of hard to get too excited about Bungie's new game right now because of a mix of what happened with Reach (though it was not their A team making it), the Activision deal and the fact that we don't have a clue about it.

Both. I want to see where the series will go and what Bungie's next game is (I hope I can run it on one of my systems though).

Halo 4. Reach showed elements and mood i'd like to see carried over. Plus the team they have over there atm is amazing. Oh and hopefully they completely junk the Reach style of MP how the hell did Bungie let that through i have no idea.

Maybe they were trying to destroy it before they left :D

Buy i'm also interested in seeing what Bungie do when they have to start over from scratch.

I'm done with Halo. Both 2 & 3 were big disappointments for me, and I never played the spin-off's and have no interest in H4 either, so whatever Bungie's new IP is wins by default.

Didn't Ryan Payton leave because the Halo they were creating was going to be more of the same?

Looking forward to Bungie's new game more

do you guys just hate armor abilities? I like reach mp.

Bungie's new game without a doubt. I know Bungie make great games that I love. 343 so far hasn't won me over with the Bear novels or how they handled Halo Anniversary. Although I'll admit I did like the Glasslands novel except the BS excuse for Spartans armors having nanotech that can upgrade and repair it. Also I haven't much liked what glimpses of things we've seen for Halo 4. Examples being the Halo 4 Warthog in Forza and the new armor for Chief.

I'm not saying I'm not going to give 343 a chance though. It's just that right now I'm without a doubt more excited for what Bungie is doing.

Bungie have a history of making the best console shooters, 343i have no history, and nothing to suggest they're worthy of making a game called Halo 4.

If Bungie's next game turns out to be an MMO then Halo 4 wins by default for me. If they can carry on with that sweet, sweet gameplay then that's icing on the cake.

Bungie have been fantastic developers but for me really dropped the ball with Reach, a lot of the stuff they did before Reach was excellent, they are kings of understanding the ancillary features that help make a game, like Theatre, Forge and Online Stats but they didnt really bring anything new to the table with Reach and gameplay wise it just wasnt for me. You can only judge an artist by his most recent peice of work.

The problem is 343 hasnt got a track record to look at. Would it be fair to say that as a massive Halo fan that im probably not looking forward to Bungie's OR 343's project at this stage? I need to see more from both of them to really decide which one looks more promising. So far we know nothing of Bungies most recent project or Halo 4.

Ultimately for me Bungie have been declining in quality in recent years and 343 are facing an uphill battle to develop an AAA game on they're first go. Kinda worried about both projects tbh but I really hope Halo 4 is fantastic and I get the feeling the Bungie A team worked on theyre new project while the B team worked on Reach, and so it will also be great.

Halo 4.

Halo is probably the only multiplayer shooter I have ever really liked. Not because halo is super awesome or anything, its just that I am terrible at shooters even halo really, but if I lose horribly in Quake, CoD, Battlefield, or UT, it just makes me frustrated and angry. However with halo, for some reason I can't explain, even when I'm getting my ass kicked horribly I'm still having fun.

Also, what ever bungie is making is probably an MMO, or very close to it, and that doesn't really interest me.

After Reach there is nowhere for the Halo franchise to go other than complete overhaul without it being horribly stagnant and dull. I expect nothing from Halo 4.

Probably Halo 4.

I'm not the biggest Halo fan, but my favourites go CE > ODST > Reach > 3 > 2 (god was Halo 2 terrible, talk about boring), but I am looking forward to seeing how a new team handles it and what they can bring and improve.

And personally I'm still waiting for a Halo game where I actually feel like a super soldier in high tech armour as I've always felt like a floating camera with a gun and compared to Spartans in other media the Halo games make them come off rather meh, I would also love a Halo game that took the good aspects of Republic Commando, say like a proper team that aren't incompetent and characters that actually had some personality.

Will be interesting to see what Bungie does though, and if their game will have the same effect Halo did and have fans flocking to their new side, especially with it being multi-platform.

No offense to Ryan, but I really don't see why he was constantly gushing about the narrative design in Heavy Rain and Deadly Premonition. I also found it very annoying that after HaloFest he then chose to say he left 343, but left like a year before.

I'm hyped for both 343 and Bungie's next projects. Can't choose one of the other in this case.

Yup - Halo multiplayer is fun in of itself, without needing to win.

To the OP: why does this have to be a competition?

Halo 4 at this point. Everything about bungie's new game is pointing to some sort of mmo, at this point, and that doesn't really appeal much to me. I'm really curious to see more details on bungie's new project, though so that could easily change.
