zlatko: those are not infinites. You have to turn on air control, not how they get up off the ground.

The random disconnects- my suspicion is that a problem with Tekken 6 netcode hasn't been fixed. I believe one can destabilize the netcode via button mashing. You definitely could do this in Tekken 6- I tested with a friend, and if I turned turbo on that online would crash, even if I wasn't doing attacks.

Yeah that's what I set to random is the air control. Air control is random, and I was able to do an infinite loop.

Someone else can test it out to see if they can stumble on it too. Set the air to random, and do what I instructed. I had my buddy do it too at his place as we talked online, and it took him a bit, but he finally got it too. Just play around with when you hit the B when they fall down after your upper cut, and eventually you'll get it.

I don't have a capture card or else I'd post it here.

Watched my girlfriend rage quit against a stage 5 Pyrrha last night lol. Very amusing.. but I will say that I also hate her character. She's probably the worst of the new characters in V.

At least she won't be the same in any future appearances.

Omega is win! . . . Although too bad she won't be as demonic/rageful in future literations. But hopefully no where near as timid either.

God damn the AI in legendary souls is some of the biggest bullshit i've ever seen. Nightmare gets in once and the round is over.

It's easy

I can't get the Viola thing to work at all so I'm working on another. 6B+K with Kiba constantly, critical edge or 3B if they get in, got to Cervantes right now. Nightmare was the only asshole so far.

How many fights are in this thing?

Recently got around to playing this online with a friend and was using Maxi. Anyone know any good combos with him? I just mashed and hoped for stuff to combo XP.

Haha! Beat Algol with a perfect, and finished with a Brave Edge for the achievement. Got 25 minutes...bless you Xiba. Wasn't too bad aside from Nightmare and Edgemaster.

So during that I found two infinites with Devil Jin.

4vertical3vertical(this will launch) then you try to find the pattern/timing of just hitting vertical over and over. I got up to 70 some hits in a row 370ish damage, before I dropped it. :p (Sorry my notation sucks. Is vertical hits, B? If so it's 4B3B, and then mash B's as they are in the air)

It's somewhat random on when you will finally get it, but I've done it around 5 times in a row once, so you might be able to master it.

I had the AI set to random free falling, and quick get up shit, and all that good jazz, and I was able to keep it going multiple times to just free kill. Straight up broken ass shit lol. :p

Not a true combo, they can air control outta it. Not sure what you had set, but there's no way you're getting past 2 reps in a real fight.

Is Raph like low tier in this game, or is the top tier just THAT good?

Seems like gimmicks are real easy to run for some chars. I'm wondering if I"ll have to switch my character to Natsu or something just to be viable like it's a Capcom game.

Why can't Mitsurugi, Z.W.E.I., Cervantes and Edge Master wear all the same kinds of underwear the other human male characters can wear?

That's so lame. :/

Can you be a bit more specific? Ie, when you say 8A+B, is the 8 a direction?

Going off of Guilty Gear notation where your number pad indicates direction:

7 8 9
4 5 6
1 2 3

5 = Neutral position or standing still

8A+B = Up A+B

Anytime you see anything like 66 or 88 or even 11, it means to double tap in that direction.

Sorry if I offended you, just trying to help. :p

-The tiers in Soul Calibur usually goes like this

Week 1 Tiers

Top:
Popular easy-mode chars.

Low:
Everyone else.

Week 2 Tiers:

Top:
Technical characters:

Med:
Kilik, Cervantes, Maxi, Cervantes.

Low:
Slow Heavy Hitters

Unlike Marvel you can read attacks in this game, So eventually the characters with more tools tend to outshine the characters who strictly deal raw, basic damage. You'll be raging over the Xiba spammer you see online today but eventually you'll realize that 90% of his attacks can be blocked by a standing guard and his low multi-poke doesn't put you in hitstun so you can block low after the first hit. Also you'll learn that in the Xiba match-up you should expect to guard a ton, most likely this will cause the Xiba player to start rushing you. This is the fatal error, Xiba is slow at point blank range. You see, things like these will pop-up as you play the game.

Having said that Raph is like complete garbage in SCIV, and barely better in this game. So stick to him at your own risk.

bear with me i've played only 3 hours according to the log BUT ... NIghtmare ??WTF is it more agressive than before ..i don't recall a nightmare so unforgiving since ....ever ... is it my skills that are rusty because well i got beat several times in a row ...

Still really early but who is looking to have the better moveset? Pyrrha or Omega Pyrrha?
Pyrrha definitely. Omega's moveset is small and limited, she can hit harder but lacks regular Pyrrha's variety of tools. Shame because I dig Omega's voice and the look of her attacks...

QisTopTier is not a liar! :D

Turns out the required timing changes on the opponent. For some you need to wait until they stand, but Elysium will own you if you do that so put the orb on her meaty and she'll fold.

Ralph is a low tier character I agree, but he is my main and has been since 2 so I will continue to loose to easy characters (I look at you ezio, jin, mitsurugi, and Natsu). The only thing I hate about this game is Ezio, his moves are really hard to dodge and the range moves especially playing as Ralph is hard to counter, but I still love the game regardless, best since 2 imo.

Just beat story mode last night. I get the hate on it. Lots of story parts bugged me too. But I kinda liked how the story focused strictly on two people's struggles surrounding the Soul Edge and Soul Calibur. It felt like a much more real story than any of the other superfluous soul calibur plots. Though the sibling love seemed a bit creepy.

Pat, Alpha Pat and Pyrra fleshed out their tropes very well. I actually felt a disgust and hate towards Pat, and empathy for Pyrra.

Goddam, these characters are ALL fucked in the head.

It's a shame how minor the other characters played.

Wow I keep getting waxed in arcade mode by Nightmare.. Any pointers.. ?

If you're playing hard, continual quick low strikes and throws seem to work really well. I spent 20 mins against him using normal fighting tactics, always losing badly until I did this and won instantly.

God damn the AI in legendary souls is some of the biggest bullshit i've ever seen. Nightmare gets in once and the round is over.

Is there ANY reason to beat Legendary Souls, if Algol is unlockable through quick battle anyway?

Raphael sucks, huh? Shame, I'm planning on playing him, but I played Dragunov in T5:DR so I think I can handle it.

He doesnt suck, you just have to put a lot more energy in during fights against most characters. Your moves do not do as much damage as most of the other characters, so you need to be able to time your rebuttals, and combos.

Even though I'm still not a fan of either of the characters, they sure made them interesting. And I feel that the sibling bit makes this story work a lot better. If they were the obligatory couple, it would be ridiculous to fall in love with this screwed up girl (at least in this amount of time). But they are family so damn any talking swords or malfested arms, he's gonna make this family work.

While short, this story sets up a rather interesting situation, with Patroklos ready to defend her no matter what, even if she goes evil. Kind of like Sophitia, a tragic hero. If Pyrrha was returned to normal, all would be fine and their story would be over. Now, there's room for all kinds of stuff.

There are four different ways to unlock Algol. Beat Legendary Souls, beat him in Quick Battle, beat him in Extra Arcade (which you unlock by leveling up, somewhere in the teens), or get to level 34 or something. You never really need to finish Legendary Souls to unlock everything.

"The odds of Algol showing up in that seems really low.

I've searched for him countless pages and still haven't found him in QB."

You have to be past level 12-13 and you have to fight until he shows up, not search.

Yeah, that's fine, I'm used to playing characters like that. I'm ready for the Natsu (?) army!

Thank ya! This is exactly what happened to me hehe! It took me 28 mins to beat him with ZWEI.. I kept hitting high mids stuff until I switched to quick kicks and throws ha ha! What a workout lol.

I like Ezio. Really easy and powerful, I beat Nightmare quickest with him so far.
