Anyone else have euchre online? Free game with online gamecenter play. It actually works really well and games move fast. Hit me up if you want to play Gamecenter ID: GoHoosiers

Ziggurat has usurped Super Crate Box as my go-to quick score-chaser game.

I usually conk out at around 120 alien freaks. 204 is my highest--anyone know if the alien ships can be destroyed?

Same. I think the game gets crazier if you shoot one of the ships. I don't even think its worth it, cause the lightning starts cracking it's really hard to make out what the hell is going on, on top of the increased enemy count. And if you go into stats there's a field for # of alien ships destroyed. Apparently the game has an end as well? I wonder if anyone will even see it given how insanely difficult it is

Dynamite Shikoku

Congratulations, you really deserve it!
Do I have you on GC? I'm not sure cause some people are just using their actual name. I'm still trying to beat Robert Ashley's score. He's number one on my leaderboards of 7 people. My score is 208 currently. Game is tough as nails.

@ Cjelly - you're probably thinking of Reckless Getaway. Awesome game

My game center friends list is at 0 lol

Really enjoying Reckless Racing 2. Which is surprising considering I didn't like the first one.

I like how you have to master the art of drifting to win. Almost feels like a top down Ridge Racer.

Speaking of which, I wish Scamco would release a proper Ridge Racer on the AppStore. :(

Jesus H Christ on a bike. A game as fantastic and content rich as Reckless Racing 2 on sale for $0.99, and people say Iwata has no idea what he's talking about.

Reckless Racing 2 is pretty good. Don't regret buying it but I think I like the physics in Death Rally more.

Anyway, I had the pleasure of playing Epic Astro Story Lite on my brother's Android and man, I can't wait for this to hit the App Store. It just might be the best Kairo Soft game.

The ship sort of acts as a powerup with the lightening blowing up the aliens. I don't think it's bolts are in good spots to set off chain reactions, though.

My latest high score of 222 put me in the top 100 but 600~ away from number one. Supposedly there is an end game type of thing that doesn't stop you from continuing. There is also an enemy nobody has beat yet. Dev said the first person to kill it wins all of their future games. Gonna try some more later.

I've been pimping this game forever and I have no idea why Kairosoft is taking so long to bring it over to iOS. It's like Final Fantasy meets Alpha Centauri with the usual Kairosoft cuteness and accessibility!

I just got Netflix so all I've been doing is watching Initial D, which got me all hyped up to play racing games. I just forgot that I'm not too good at them haha

@videogames - thanks for the info! My hi score is 208, but I usually clock in at 100-130. The guy who got 800 must be really good.

I've never really liked top-down racers. Convince me why I should try RR2!

We need to convince you to spend 99 cents on a game that is pretty well universally praised? Just say screw it and take the plunge! Even if it only entertains for a few hours, it is worth a buck.

I bought Reckless Racing 2 and I don't regret it at all, it's totally like playing a "real" game and not just some mini-game on the go.

reckless racing 2 at $5 is still a great deal... but there are so many games now that i just wait for stuff to be on special - there's always something free or for $1 worth playing.

which kind of blows my mind that the map companies still release stuff on iOS for $15-$20... thats otakus for u i guess. and shin megami tensei looks seriously dated....

Gridrunner is awesome. Best Llamasoft game yet.

Yeah man, it's blowing my mind. So many insane subtleties, I haven't even figured out how to get specific powerups or anything, it's just every level is a clusterfuck cascade of awesome if you play it right. It becomes about just chaining powerups and decimating the board in seconds rather than just pure shooting.

Very cool stuff. I love how Minter includes all these great unexplained nuances into his games, it makes getting deep into them much more rewarding and it reminds me of being a kid and figuring these arcane arcade games out through context and trial and error.

Never mind how you can have two completely different games going at once just by switching from landscape to portrait.

In gridrunner, I understand how to "unlock" c64, but what about casual and vic?

Never mind, I figured it out. I really like the pure game, but a part of me wishes the ship movement was a little more fluid, more in the style of the Cave iOS ports. But anyway, I still would rate this version of Gridrunner right up there with the best Minotaur Project releases.

My good friends created their first iOS game recently called Demolicious.

mzl.kjjmwsqg.480x480-75.jpg

It is a physics based puzzle game where you blow up crates, score points, cause destruction.

It is just a fun app with 60 levels with more to come in future updates which are in the works.

Check out the trailer here, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vDMLigKAlxw&hd=1

Check out iPhone version for $0.99 or the HD version for $1.99

Help my friends out and buy their game :D

Cores, shaders and BIOS oh my!
Reckless Racing 2 is pretty cool but just makes me want a sequel to World Rally (omg, apparently the developers give out the arcade rom for free!). Loved the night stages. Real Racing 2 remains the best racer on iOS imo.

I love you. That game was such hot shit, absolutely loved it. I don't recall it being emulated properly so I had to resort to the Great 1000 or whatever it was called... unless that was just in older versions, I dunno.

There are some pretty good vids of it on youtube (yay, game is speedy) so I imagine MAME improved on its emulation.

Yeah, I think I'm just thinking of the "portable" versions that were done for different console platforms. I rarely MAME it up on PC. Maybe i should though! If there's a way to get a DFGT FFB wheel feeling as loose as the arcade of World Rally, it might just be worthwhile!

I'm really liking Reckless Racing 2 but GODDAMN, Gridrunner is the best game, regardless of platform, that I've played in awhile. My favorite Jeff Minter game alongside Tempest 2000 and Gridrunner++. I'm also number 1 in the leaderboards right now for Pure and Casual.

I would KILL for a port of Tempest 2000, complete with music. You'd have to think that it'd be quite workable on iOS. Only problem (obviously) being the license for Tempest (which I'm guessing Atari still owns).

I would just love to have some kind of new Tempest-like Jeff Minter iOS game, which I have to imagine is going to happen sometime in the near future.

Ha, way to go man :D I was at position 8 when I went to bed last night, this game is like crack. I've never played Gridrunner before either so I'm still learning the nuances. But man it's just so good. Those powerups!

It's such a shame these games don't sell better, he really deserves to make a lot of money from the awesome work he's been pumping out on iOS.

Space Giraffe Temptest-like for ya? There hasn't been any kind of announcement but given that he owns the entire IP, it's not out of the realms of possibility it'll make an appearance on iOS. I could never really get into it, though... I should give it another shot.

Sweet. The three star times seemed rather arbitrary. Some feel literally impossible, while others I just stumbled into on my first run even as late as world 4.

And it's good to hear that there is a double jump bug. I thought I was just missing the button during high intensity situations! Very much looking forward to this update.
