The second part of the Persona 2 saga will be released to PSP, Famitsu reveals this week. The magazine has a first look at Persona 2 Eternal Punishment, the followup to Persona 2 Innocent Sin. Following a remake of Innocent Sin, released in April of last year, Atlus will release the PSP remake of Eternal Punishment on May 17.

The PSP version will include new scenarios, improved load times, a new opening animation from Mad House, and the choice of original and refined background music. Shouji Meguro is directing the game. The new scenarios are from Tadashi Satomi, the original's scenario writer.

Time to sell your PS1 versions on Ebay!

Yesssssssssssssssssssss

Guess Meguro so far is just doing the re-releases of the old games. I wonder if he'll have a more directorial role in P5 as well as redoing the music for this game too.

THIS IS THE BEST DAY EVARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR.

VF5, JSR, and no Eternal Punishment getting ported to PSP (called it, the engine was already there).

Thank you based game industry.

Ok, Im getting confused with all the Persona games. How do they all fit?

Innocent Sin: Persona 2-1
Eternal Punishment: Persona 2-2

It's a bit more complicated with regards to what they do with the plot, but to explain would spoil it no matter which game you played first.

Persona 2: Eternal Punishment is a direct sequel to Persona 2: Innocent Sin, which takes place in the same world as Persona. No other Persona games exist after Eternal Punishment.

It's cool to have them all on a single system. I feel like all the big RPG series should do this, get every entry available on a single platform, just clear up all the hunting and various versions crap.

It's funny, I thought Vita would hurt PSP, but in reality, it's also the best PSP available, so it's just adding to the install base. Pretty cool.

Sick. This adds to my growing collection of Persona PSP games I will eventually play on Vita once I get it around when P4 comes out.

Holy shit. Will this be the first time we get the rest of P2 in english officially? I can't remember which one we didn't get. Can't wait to play them all on the Vita :D

Darn nice news!
My favorite Persona game (of the PSone games at least). :)

We got this one originally, it was Innocent Sin we didn't

But still, it's wonderful to have this spruced up for PSP, and to have them both together on Vita

Knew this was coming. Too bad they don't let you keep the original art, I can't stand the Innocent Sin redesigns.

I hope EP PSP is much easier this time.

My man! *fist bump!*

Now I have a reason to finish the Innocent Sin retranslation!

Awesome. I was hoping for this but didn't think it would happen. Day 1 purchase for me! I'd love to play it on the vita.

I just hope like the PSP IS version they keep the PSX FMV's and I can put them back at the original aspect ratio even if they're smaller. Less blocky and I prefer the original FMV's over the redone openings (as good as those are).

Just bought P3P and P2 bundle on PSN, this is awesome news if Atlus USA localizes it (which they will) and Ghostlight publishes it in Europe

Vita/PSP are now the Persona machine.
Nah, they're still the Falcom machines, but with a complete dose of Persona on the side.

I'm a bit curious if Atlus will try to make Persona 5 for Vita as well now (on top of 360/PS3 they did for Catherine).
