Chihayafuru END

Another one bites the dust :( . Damn you Japan, there's plenty of material for a second season but nooooooo you have to support your pandering shit instead of Chihayafuru.
Only thing I hope now is it pulls a Kaiji, where there's a upcoming movie and it will fuel for a second season.

I don't know which is worse, Japan for pandering or Fox.

I'm seriously considering watching Gintama to fill in the void. I remember watching like 3 episodes of Gintama some time ago and it wasn't that great. Does it get better later on?

Like others have said, episodes one and two are fillers so the real beginning is episode three. Many consider the series to start hitting it's stride around episode 25, though I liked it from the beginning (even the two filler). I recommend not jumping ahead, especially not to episode 79 as it's positioned in the middle of a story arc. Have faith, there are many Gintama fans here for a reason.

The sad thing about ANN "reporting" on Biglobe polls is that not even fucking Yaraon, the tabloid of the anime world, talks about that shit.

Chihayafuru 25

Its over and I'm definitely going to miss the cast. ;_; But if they are just going to do more Karuta in the manga as what others already mentioned then I might as well be content with the anime and how it ended. Ah well it was nice to be in Team Taichi while it lasted.lol

BASK IN ITS GLORY!

I have the first season. Looks like I need the whoooole thing. I will remedy this soon.

It does exist... Don't judge me for knowing this but it's called Sailor Moon And The Seven Ballz (NSFW obviously)

Noooo. Don't reveal every secret. Especially not this one!

The power of tacos knows no boundaries. It destroys NFL careers and it can get hype like no other anime series.

crossing community threads with OT ones. This will only end in tears.

How did you find it on a revisit? How many episodes did you go back and watch?
I followed the guidance of The Nautilus Story (like other times) on old DVD material, as I don't have the new Blu-ray set, yet.

What never ceases to amaze me is the tone of the show; I mean, what ultimately remains in your memory from this is the accomplished sensation of an extremely enjoyable and righteous adventure show, but without being too indulgent as it follows that haunting and obscure mysticism that Mr. Anno, Mr. Maeda & Co. made very well in incorporate to this kind of genre series (on Mr. Sagisu's work, along with proto-Evangelion electric fanfares are eerie tracks that also reflect this very well).

The shift of impressions about the Nautilus, from its heroic crew protecting the seas, to that vision of a desperate bunch of renegade people who carry the burden of an spiritual do-or-die battle to wipe the errors of their own past. That leaves a powerful sense of this series' scope and conflict represented beyond that actual human civilization of the time, but that reflects on the human nature.

The Neo-Atlanteans carrying a legacy, the Nautilus/New Nautilus as the opposing force, all of them committed to the same conflict since they landed on Earth, but now also perpetuated by the created humans. Following their origin's sin, dangerous ego and continuous misfortune. All that strikes what I find is a right balance between immobile fate and own-existence despair, and otherwise the troubled nature (to the point of being annoying) of Nadia and her sometimes tragic heroine stance would have fall flat.

Maybe the intensity of this is something to be reminded of time after time, with each viewing.

It really goes with the territory. If you post more, you'll spend less time on each post and therefore the 'quality' of your posting may well decrease as the quantity of your posts increases (assuming you spend roughly the same amount of time writing your responses).
Judging by my (slightly stupid) posts after that one, I think I've accustomed to the situation already.

Looking at the data for this past season, I can't find a week where Gundam Age pulled lower overall ratings than the noitamina block, or any late night anime for that matter.

It was meant as a joke. But if you want to get technical, there were weeks where Gundam Age pulled 0 ratings for its target demographic. That's kinda horrible.

I love it when beloved franchise sequels throw a monkey wrench into the works to fuck with fans. Its entertainment in itself!
Agreed! It is not like you can't continue appreciating what you already appreciate of a franchise because of a new installment in it, right?

Chihayafuru 25/End
This probably ended as well as it could given the inevitability of the series being fairly inconclusive. The episode itself reflects on the series that has come to pass and puts an emphasis on the importance of getting to know the characters and watch them develop as people. It really works too, even though I prefer things to play out in a more decisive fashion I really enjoyed my time with the show overall. I kind of wish the show had played up the character angle earlier though, as the back half of the series seemed to mostly miss out on opportunities to showcase the characters. Instead the focus was shifted to playing up side characters and game intricacies that really didn't have an impact on me at the end of the day.

Moeretsu Pirates 12

This was another good episode, but I feel like someone forgot to tell me what the whole point of this arc was. Hopefully we'll find out more about Serenity in a future arc.

And Marika wins another blonde loli into her harem. And they claimed there wasn't going to be any romance in this. HA.

Sounds like a waste of programming slot.

I did like the arc, more time in space for the next arc I hope.

I should probably add that noitaminA is not confirmed. It doesn't say so anywhere in the actual magazine, and it is (reasonable) conjecture on the part of the Japanese blog, which ANN seems to take at face value, because they are a terrible news site.

Can anyone give me a tl;dr version of the last 10 pages or so?
