Don't underestimate the FE fanbase - I have a feeling that the next FE title will surpass expectations sales wise this time, i really is the first big budget s-rpg on 3DS.

The userbase is too small, although collectors will probably snap up the limited edition 3DS units.

Of course I hope it proves me wrong and sells a boatload since it's my most anticpated future release. Let's go NoA!

I think you're underestimating Fire Emblem. The GBA and DS games all sold well over 200k. The two lowest are the GCN and Wii games.

GBA Fire Emblem: The Sealed Sword - 345,574
GBA Fire Emblem: Blazing Sword - 265,286
GBA Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones - 236,370
DS Fire Emblem: New Shadow Dragons and the Blade of Light - 252,309
DS Fire Emblem: Shin Monshou no Nazo: Hero of Light and Shadow - 247,248

Not really, plus this is going to be a new entry into the series coupled with DLC. It will do well.

I smell a conspiracy. The Vita is still (barely) over 10k...
No surprises this week otherwise ,PS2 still dominates 360, but DS stabilized above the PS2 for now.

This franchise has one of the most solid fanbase among videogames (250k).

HOLY SHIIIIIIIIIIITTTTTTTTT :lol
Well, there is only one NG game with a higher LTD than Other M; and that may change with the 2011 Top 1000.

If I am hearing right that KI:U only had 2 days of sale before counting in MCS, then I must say that's a huge feat.

This.

Nintendo clearly understand the need to keep momentum, I'm not sure what Sony are thinking.

Get as many people as possible to buy it at this ridiculous price point then drop the price when sales start crawling. Nintendo did the samething with 3DS.

Nintendo never let the 3DS get as low as Vita aside from the week before the cut went into effect.

Sales have been crawling since launch week.

If Sony really think they can ride this out until the holiday period, game over.

After the "blowout" in June with MGS Collection, Gundam and Persona4 what other known "big" games are left? Some people like to mention ZOE Collection but that´s more of a niche game than anything else, the biggest so far is the FFX port that will also be available on PS3, what other games can help Vita in the immediate future (2012). Or have we really to wait until TGS to answer this question?

And it was quite a humiliating thing for Nintendo.

Killing the hype and the momentum of a plattform, just to make some more bucks is an absolutely stupid idea that will potentially hurt your hardware sales in the long run.

Natural disaster of an unforseen level royally screwed up Nintendo's plans. Recovery after a botched launch isn't all that common in the hardware sector, and it took the 3DS a price drop and several AAA titles to get out of that rut. And let's not forget, as 'bad' as the 3DS was doing it was still selling at roughly double the rate at the Vita is now.

I´m not expecting a lot from these titles but June looks to be the biggest month after Vitas launch. At least it´s getting some more or less popular franchises with MGS, Gundam and Persona but I have to agree that these game will have a hard time selling over 100k.

If anything im thinking the sales of mgs will make the sales of mgs3d look good

So... what are the top 10 selling series in japan that aren't nintendo property?

Monster Hunter
Dragon Quest

Final Fantasy seems to be on its way out.

Then a bunch of stuff that's either been sliding out for a long time or never got that big to begin with.

Edit:
Assuming you mean current series. Also depends on just how far down you want to go. Yakuza, RE, and MGS seem to be 500K+ series, even if that's down from previous entries. This post was mainly just referring to big 1m+ current series.

New bundles have clearly had a nice effect. I hope KI has legs as well, pretty great opening for the game so it would be nice to see it stick around the chart for a while.

The 3DS is kicking ass. It's deserved though, cause Nintendo is throwing everything they have to make the platform a success: price drops, quality first party games, big third party exclusives, new colors, special editions, lots of ads, ...

I'm continually amazed by how pro-active Nintendo has been to make sure the 3DS succeeds in Japan. I think they're completely banking on the home market, because the Yen exchange rate makes it the only market where profits can be made.

I'm also kinda impressed how the Vita is staying above the 10k mark. The importance given to that barrier is hilarious. However, I really hope Sony are thinking of fixing this situation, because even though the Vita is only out for a few months, the gap in userbase between 3DS and Vita widening every week with at least 50k has to be troubling.

Do you mean games not published by nintendo or games not pretty much exclusive to nintendo?

pretty much 2. well... just games that will typically not appear in a smash bros.

Anyone else a bit curious about first party 3ds games in the next few year?

I'm sure all of nintendo's A Teams are off doing Wii U stuff now.

hmmm.

Dragon Quest
Monster Hunter
Final Fantasy (Despite XIII bad reception it's still the best selling PS3 game and XIII-2 is one of the higher games along with the PSP games performing well.)
Kingdom Hearts

So this is how the Vita is going to be saved eventually, 3DS will start selling backwards!!

Don't worry they're working on PR spin right now

"Vita gains huge momentum in Japanese market"

"Vita is the only new piece of hardware to compete head to head with latest generation leader"

On a side note, glad to see KI:U doing well, i hope it reaches the 500k zoneso all that was invested into it sees good returns and provides us with more Sakurai great gaming!

Also really curious about the prediction league, my numbers weren't that off :D

Nintendo is marketing aggressively in a good way in Japan. Very impressed with their consistency. Iwata is serious about directing the 3DS to become a sales monster, and not settling for less.

I imagine the eventual 3DS redesign will be well worth the wait, and I see it coming during the early part of next year.

Would love to see some more of these monster titles make their way to the North American market, which I don't doubt they will (such as Monster Hunter)

I wonder where the Vita will be after E3. I think its a great system, and so far I have invested quite a bit in it, but the Japan sales situation seems to be parallel to every major market currently. I am hopeful Sony will announce the next GoW title will be accessible to both Vita and PS3 gamers alike
