Is there any show like Azumanga Daioh (not necessarily the school theme, but joke sketch comic type thing) that I should be looking out for? Or already be watching?

Nanoha and Nanoha As are definitely pretty hot blooded. Nanoha is one of the most badass magical girls ever.

Well to be fair, Nanoha feels more like a mecha anime with all the mechas swapped out for lolis. It may have "Magical Girl" in the title but it ain't fooling me!

I left PonyGAF when the love stopped going around, thanks partly to a certain someone who is currently banned.

What did Uchip do?

Romanes Eunt Domus
Nope. Still on episode 7. Will watch 3 more tomorrow.
It's a slowly paced show, but it pays off. Glad you are keeping with it.

And just because I want to, short-haired Erika (not spoilers, it's fanart):

If you like Azumanga, the closest parallel that comes to mind is actually Lucky Star. Then after that: The Daily Lives of Highschool Boys, Working!!, Nichijou...K-On, maybe.

The Light of El Cantare
I definitely agree, but the thing with that and I is: Just by having Nami in there as the partner in struggle takes away the aspect of isolation, taking away a good bit of the luster in it. And that's no critique to Usopp's or Nami's character as much as it's an annoyance with the blatant duality in Oda's writing.

You forget that Nami is in possession of the most common superpower.

I kid, Nami's status as a "weak" character definitely encroaches too much on the defining characteristic that separates Usopp from the rest of the crew. Oda just happens to draw attention to Usopp's weakness far more than he does Nami's, which is ironic considering that Nami is technically weaker than Usopp--he did
create the Clima Tact
after all. I've always somewhat felt that Nami should have strictly remained a navigator and be relegated to non-combat roles; her specialties at the beginning of the series were stealth and deception and her status as ship navigator shouldn't have necessarily dictated the direction in which her skills evolved
read: a bunch of weather-related powers
.

That's honestly weak. Watch Heartcatch Precure instead.
why the fuck does shit like this sell while Lagrange doesn't? Not like I'm losing any sleep over it.

wait, Symphogear sold more than Rinne?

Usopp is anime Batman.

/hasnotwatchedDTB

Wrong.

Sogeking
is anime Batman.

It's not that. If I hadnt told you a mod would.
Just saving you the trouble.

Also your avatar is cute as fuck.

i know.

and I know. loli with a lolli!

I'ma stick with cute chibi avatars from now on. A lot easier to do vs trying to get some detailed thing down to 100x120.

Have you hoped on the inu x boku train? You really can't get any more cajun than this...

Nothing you've ever watched can prepare you for the awfulness of Mars of Destruction. Its so short but everything you hate about everything can probably be found there.

I dunno if this is OT or not, so I apologize in advanced, but I just watched "Dead Leaves" for the first time. Does anyone have a recommendation for something along the lines of being that crazy? lol

It's perfectly fine to ask, don't worry.

And to answer your question check out Panty & Stocking.

Kill Me Baby 13 END

Nichijou was funnier and better paced than this. Let that sink in for a bit.

Detroit Metal City, Cromartie High School, The Daily Lives of Highschool Boys and Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei.

Gurren Lagann and Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt were directed by the same guy. Check em out.

I love Nichijou. I actually just finished the final episode. Great show all around. Sure not all the jokes are funny (a handful really are), and sure some of the episodes just go nowhere. See... the thing is, it's relaxing. I can mellow the fuck out before bed for half an hour, see some fine animated action sequences that come outta nowhere, and maybe catch a chuckle or two. It's about expectations! It won't bust your sides... it'll stroke them slowly while you wear a daifuku head and Mio whispers in your ear.

Dead Leaves was pretty insane. Redline is crazy and really well animated if you like cars/racing.

Congrats! You are one of the magnificent chosen few that can appreciate Nichijou. Thumbs up for good taste!

Chihayafuru 19

Like all good shounen(esque) shows, this one stretched one match across several episodes.

Of course, Chihayafuru does it with a lot more class.

The match between
members of Chihaya's group
continues.
Kana ends up beating Desktomu and then Nishida barely beats Taichi. Just about everyone advances in Class rank.
After a scene in a refreshingly well drawn non CG vehicle,
Chihaya talks about how proud she is of everyone and that they should compete as a team in the next tournament.
Then
cut to Arata, who vows to regain his position as a top Karuta player
.
Good stuff. GREAT STUFF.

Fate/Zero 11

OMG THIS SHIT IS INCREDIBLE.

Most of the episode revolved around three servants just chilling around doing some debating and sipping some wine but holy balls it was fuckawesome. The way motherfuckin' Rider put Saber in her place was simply amazing.

Rider is so fucking boss. Goddamn.

We don't have sales figures for Symphogear yet.

Sket Dance 26 (Gintama crossover)

It had a lot of faults, but that was pretty good, still; not because it was all that funny, which it wasn't, but that it was obviously Shinohara's way of thanking Sorachi, given the history between them, and it carried that emotional weight, indeed. The anime was nowhere near as upfront with it as the manga chapter was, but I almost prefer the use of proxy, rather than the manga's breaking of the fourth wall. Still as touching.

And I've heard a lot of the complaints about this ep, but honestly think it to be a case of aligning expectations. I, like many, I'd argue, saw the announcement of Gintama x Sket Dance/vice-versa, and said "Oh, shit. These are going to be romps!" And, to be perfectly fair, Gintama's take was. Sket Dance's, on the other hand, took the different approach; being not Sket-Dance the gag anime, but Sket-Dance the emotion bomb, but in a different manner.

All of that's speaking exclusively of the narrative. The production was HORRIBLE--bad art/animation, but props to the Steins;Gate reference. Tuturu~
