glad i'm not the only one that had issues with the rather stilted at times voice acting
I can't imagine it's a particularly large concern for most people, because they seem to be fine with it, but it kind of bothers me. I wouldn't necessarily say it was stilted though.

A delicious box of joy has arrived today from our friendly neighborhood RightStuf:

Note: I have never watched any of these. (Yet, obviously.)

These are some good choice sire.

It's weird when you compare it to other anime hits such as Archer or Bob's Burgers, which have voice acting that is just fine.

Ano Hana got licensed by NISA, announced at their press event going on right now.

Crank up some Secret Base!

Based off youtube video reactions to the finale I'm sure they'll make mega bucks.

Or they'll make nothing, because people have already watched it.

So I watched the Bokura ga Ita movie (which incidentally is based on anime/manga) and I enjoyed it quite a bit. Apparently the first movie covers everything the anime covers and the 2nd movie will cover the manga until the end.

The actress playing Nanami is sufficiently ditzy as to convey the character pretty well. I was afraid they wouldn't be able to do the character but it kinda works (unlike the KnT movie where the actress didn't feel like Sawako at all).

Its basically your standard shoujo with all the various twists and turns. The ending is happy enough to basically be an ending and open ended enough to make you want to watch the 2nd movie.

Oh right, Ano Natsu

Ano Natsu 12

This show could have ended at 10 and I'd probably think more highly of it. till the end the whole alien business just seemed completely detached from the rest of the show and just feels unnecessary. Then again, my latent immunty to :firehawk might apply too. Still, my biggest beef is still that I never gave a crap about Ichika at all, which would actually be a huge problem if the rest of the show weren't so well done. As it is, I really did like it. Solid enough.

Remon is and will forever be the best character.

You're supposed to care about boob-alien because she's boob-alien. They clearly think that's enough to sell her 'plight'. Few characters in history can say they've had a more powerful motivation than "I want to see that lakes with the trees". Powerful stuff.

Nah they're gonna bank on this.
Hell they are getting several of US to buy this. Imagine the general anime fan populace!

Fate/Zero 10:

OH GOD YOUNG RIN SO MOE [REDACTED]

This episode was almost purely fanservice for fans of Rin. It connects to the main story through
Caster's Master rounding up children at night and Rin's attempt to rescue her best friend
but it's purely a side-story episode for Young Rin to show us all how incredibly moe she can be. There's a nice little sequence at the end of this episode in the same park where Kariya first finds Aoi and Young Rin back in episode 1, a year ago now in this narrative, which really brings the whole story of the episode together and links it with the greater storyline. Ah, who gives a shit about that? Everyone's here because Young Rin's Moe Power Level IS OVER NINE-THOUSAAAAAAAAAAND!!

I really liked this episode, it was a nice break from the main story and it only cements my plans to watch the Fate/Stay Night anime after Fate/Zero ends even though everyone says it's bad and LOL DEEN.

Unfortunately I know a bit about the story of Fate/Stay Night, which kind of ruins some of the suspense there would otherwise be about the ultimate fates (hurr durr) of Kariya, Rin, and Sakura.

Almost as powerful as Kaito's "man I'm just a teen whose horny, aren't I relatable" motivation.

It's really just ridiculous how much more interesting and fun the supporting cast is.

If you like Azumanga, the closest parallel that comes to mind is actually Lucky Star. Then after that: The Daily Lives of Highschool Boys, Working!!, Nichijou...K-On, maybe.

Remember when that was a big thing?
Fat/Zero 10

First time I ever rooted for the Caster/psycho dude combo.
You're a sick person! You're literally supporting monsters.

Lucky Star is still a big thing, just not on this particular forum.
I still see a sickening number of fanvideos of it pop up on a daily basis and Lucky Star avatars everywhere. It will remain a popular show for a long time.

Fate/Zero 11

OMG THIS SHIT IS INCREDIBLE.

Most of the episode revolved around three servants just chilling around doing some debating and sipping some wine but holy balls it was fuckawesome. The way motherfuckin' Rider put Saber in her place was simply amazing.

Rider is so fucking boss. Goddamn.

Truly one of the finest episodes of an anime in recent years and it's all thanks to the character interactions.
Sure, if I sell a kidney or something. Trouble is I'm sorta using it right now.

You don't need both, that's just greedy.

I don't know, presumably we represent a significantly more dedicated/hardcore portion of the 'general anime fan populace' because we actually post about anime on a regular basis in a thread. We're already more likely to purchase anime than anyone else!

You're just helping ANN continue with their spree of posting biglobe polls!
I hate ANN so much. They will never stop posting these and it will never stop driving me crazy.

Edit: And why are you guys responding as if the poll actually reflects something AFSDJGASASDFJBSI

I know, right?

Not necessarily.

Most of animeGAF are discerning and probably buy less often but focus on quality.
Ano Hana particularly probably relies on a much more expanded fanbase, relatively speaking, than the typical hardcore anime fan. More "casual" anime fans as it were.

Niiniigami SS+ 13 END

Well, that certainly was a hot springs episode!
Hibiki and Maya need their own arc so bad :(

Children-oriented programming in the US tends to have stilted voice work. I got used to it with Avatar very quick.
The thing is I really don't remember having any of these issues with the voice work of the original series. Then again it's been a while since I last watched it so maybe I just wilfully forgot about it.

I'm sure this will come in useful later on too when I start watching F/SN.
i've heard pretty bad things about the anime adaptation of F/SN
