About that magazine info, gotta be fake, it all sounds too terrible to be true. I mean, I'm totally expecting the vanilla/default multiplayer offering to disappoint me big time just like Reach, but not to such ridiculous extent.

Sure, the Spartan Ops thing sounds neat (especially the part about weekly updates), but at the expense of Firefight? And that they've completely butchered any hope of having competitive multiplayer? The bad far outweighs the good to an unforgettable degree.

Dont forget Bungie ended trailers for the defiant map pack with a armour lock segment. Trolling must be fun when you make Halo games.

Assuming the info is legit which seems likely, then 343 is making bold moves and that's great. I don't have a problem with anything in that article with the exception of the Spartan points bit and weapons spawns/timers. If Security is going to cost 3,000,000 spartan points and take 6 months of heavy playing with daily caps then they could fuck off.
People seriously asking for Invasion to return? At some point certain modes need to die to make way for others. A game that has like 15 modes to support won't likely do any of them well. Reach has shown as that. Halo OPs I'm sure will be a fine alternative to Firefight. Invasion was very unpopular.
I also don't understand the shock at the progression stuff. That was revealed when the game was first shown off. It's not new information. Many of you are very resistant to change. If you want to play Halo 3 go ahead and stick with that.

Because just about everything is a blatant rip-off of CoD. Perks? Hit-X to respawn? Spartan Ops?
It covers up the part where it says that everything not in the white spots is actually what Halo 4 would be like if they wanted to create Halo Modern Warfare 4.

I've found 3 typos and many examples of bad grammar that wouldn't be in a professional magazine so far. If this is real, then I'm fucking pissed at 343 for fucking up Halo yet again and shame on GI for having terrible writing and editing.

I can't really explain it without risking a ban, but I saw everything that was posted and just about all of it was "proven". The white bars don't seem to cover up anything that would reveal a troll.

And while not completely in line with what you are saying, there is the fact that none of the Halo games have ever been the same, despite all of the non-halo fans who think Halo 1 through Reach are basically clones of each other. I was wanting a clone of Combat Evolved for Halo2 - didn't get it. Then I wanted a clone of Halo2 for Halo3 - didn't get it. Didn't want a clone of Halo3 for Reach - got it. Finally! oh wait...
I'm still waiting on a true sequel to 1 or 2 (said this a thousand times, i know); I'll never get it because there is this unwritten rule where you're not allowed to make sequels to games that don't completely revamp everything. All that change for the sake of change mentality annoys me at times (not always). How about we get a very similar game with better graphics, net-code, a continuation of the story, and only minor changes to the way the game plays? Apparently, that is a novel idea. If you have a game that does something right, don't go making massive changes for the next game. Perhaps I'm largely alone in this thinking, though. Halo2 was major departure from Halo1. And that wouldn't be bad, but no one wanted a major departure and that's mostly where my thinking is coming from. And not that Halo2 turned out bad. It turned out really good thankfully.
But, anytime I hear people say that the Halo series needs to go away, I can't help but wonder how things would be if Halo2 had been truer to Halo1, and then maybe what ended up being Halo2 could have been Halo3. Pleased fans everywhere and not the segregated fan base we have now where a lot the original fans don't even play anymore? And the current haters might have been able to experience a little of what made the first two games so good, with the later Halo games being more true to their original inspiration. When I need a change of pace from a game I love, I play something else. I don't want the game I love to be dramatically redone, at least not for the immediate sequel. And that's what keeps happening with every Halo game...
