So what would have happened if the guy actually had an abnormal reaction? Three-way?

I also like how Tsubaki's friend told him to keep his relationship quiet and the next day Tsubaki goes and tells Urabe about it. LOL, idiot can't keep his mouth shut.

Guess I'm in the minority here but I like the song.

I actually like it too, it reminds me a lot of Fumoffu.

Look, I know this show is symbolic and metaphorical and shit, but there is no way that
a fourth-grader
is a credible fencing opponent for Utena.

The Fumoffu song is a bit more memorable.

I really like the Hyouka OP, but I'm a bit worried that the male MC will end up being really annoying.

Just like Kyon.

Fate/Stay Night 02-03:

Shirou's an insufferable ponce. He's been owned once, and I suspect it will not be the last time he ends up making this harder than it needs to be. It's interesting that
Rin saved him, only for him to become Saber's master though now having seen all of the currently aired Fate/Zero I know why.

Rin and Saber are the only reasons to watch Fate Stay Night. Granted, they are pretty good reasons.

Why are you watching this when there's much better things you could be watching. :(

the daily life of Sadako

Seriously, just fucking ask Sadako if she started the rumours or not. It's not rocket science.
That hasn't got anything on season 2.

Battle visuals were great, especially Mahiro, Takuma, and even Shinji offering the supper skills for Mahiro's moves. I like the effects they had with it. For this genre, it seem rather compelling and makes me hope we get even more through the remainder of the 26 ep run. I also couldnt help but notice the high quality background visuals, really nice.

Character wise it was nice learning of their hobbies, of course the Tamayori princess had to have the most hilarious one, that made me laugh like Mahiro.

Babe sama looked so distressed at the end there after the bracelet was taken, hopefully the princess's power can be realized before Logos Monado gets more. I guess next is Shinji in the preview, cant wait.

Katanagatari 1

The style... Is this really a White Fox show? Amazing.

After all that exposition, I can say that the concept of this series seems promising. Shichika is a fun main character, and his Kyotouryuu has the potential to bring in amazing fight animations, haha.

And the "people from mainland" sure talk a lot. I would complain... But the dialogue in this is actually interesting. That final conversation between Shichika in Togame in the end, with her four directives, was really great.

In all seriousness, Hakim is exactly the character the show needs right now to stop it getting bogged down in extremely polite discussions of parasols. He gets stuff done.

Hey, it was just a lead in for some much needed discussion. Plus, who does Urabe regular chat with?

Welcome to Bestgatari, enjoy the ride because it's a dandy. And yes its a White Fox show.

Shut your filthy Kyon hating mouth.

I guess you could be using a touchscreen interface as well.

Woah there, let's not say anything that we'll regret later. While I may be a fan of Katanagatari it's certainly no Bakemonogatari, largely because the direction is a lot more stilted.

WhiteFox has just great shows and Katanagatari has many many stunning moments.

I agree. I love their Steins;Gate adaptation, liked Tears to Tiara, and I'm having a lot of fun with Jormungand, but this show's style is so disconnected from the rest of their works.

Not that I'm complaining.

Ladies and gentlemen, I give you - cajunator!

Aaaanad quick impressions from what I've managed to watch since Thursday:

Eureka Ao 2

I didn't cry, ducky, but then I don't like original flavour Eureka Seven very much. I like Ao much better. Bring on the mystical yuta stuff for Naru and I'll be even happier.

Apollon 2

I think everyone's covered the really excellent directorial touches here; I don't think there's much more to say. It's super josei, with emphases on both super and josei.

Tsuritama 2

Catch a fish, save the world? I'm down with that. While the show's always enjoyable, Akira and Tapioca are really the highlight for me and I hope we get to see a lot more of them.

I find it very odd when the ED kicks in, though. I bought Spitz's Hachimitsu album after hearing their music in Honey and Clover so I know the ED really well, but it's weird hearing it covered like this. I guess HachiKuro already used Sakana as an insert song but that might have been appropriate here...

Still to catch up with this weekend - Sankarea, Seiya, Space Bros,
KORYA! no Densetsu
and probably Ice Lollies too! (yes, that is how I'm going to translate Hyouka until I decide if I like the show). And maybe finish the first half of Tenshi ni Narumon if I've got time.
Apollon is so well-done that I hope everyone at least gives it a chance. It actually reminds me of a semi-autobiographical novel by Yukio Mishima, "Confessions of a Mask."

I watched the first episode of Katanagatari a while back and quite enjoyed it, I should really pick it up again.

Well, that's some of the most intense anime I have ever watched. Damn.

All the main characters feel like they're protagonists from Aronofsky's films, in that all obsessed with reaching perfection through any means. However, they're also completely awful human beings. This has to be one of the most unlike able casts in any anime.

The tone and mood are fantastic, it's extremely hard to tear myself away from an episode to go do something else. They're slow and deliberate and each episode feels like it goes on for an hour, which is usually a bad thing, but in this case it's because all the events are given time to breathe.

It's one of those rare instances where I forget where I am and that I'm watching a show.

Except when those terrible CG effects come onscreen. Eugh.

Fate/Stay Night 05:

I've got my Guardian and the cute girl Sakura over for dinner, they won't misunderstand when I bring in a completely foreign chick to the dinner table, right?

Right?

Shirou LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL

Going to school without my Servant, no one will attempt to get to me right? Not even the Master who I know full well goes to school with me right?

Right?

Shirou LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL

It's kind of the same reason I'm fascinated with Drakengard. And Metal Gear Solid 2.

I sort of love the idea of a creator intentionally making their audience suffer. Which is very different from merely making something terrible.

Have you played NieR?

There wasn't anything wrong with it in Wandering Son; there isn't anything wrong with it now.

I liked Wandering Son just fine but the shiny plastic heads was something I had to force myself to tolerate the whole way through. There's a really stark difference between the shiny hair in MGX and the laminated look in WS.
