what are you using now then?

I was thinking about the 700 as well but then i said fuck it, still rockin my MX518 like a boss and it'll be good enough for D3 as well!

Logitech M705 (which was also talked about a bit with the mouse discussion.)

It's fine, but getting a bit worn out at this point. And I want the extra buttons on the G700.

And they made him a Lord of Cinder. Not for virtue, but for might. Such is a lord, I suppose. But here I ask. Do we have a sodding chance?
Sn4ke_911, that art truly is amazing... I especially like the last one. It's drawn on stone and you can clearly see that someone's cut it on different spots. Love that shit!
Get your vitamins and sleeps in more Yoshi
Vitamins are the things that get the body going, right? This thread and anything Diablo-related gets me going so I guess that's my type of vitamin! It's common sense!

I'm a fan of my NAOS 5000, despite the fact I can never remember the damn number on it. Probably the most comfortable palm grip mouse I've had. A shame I don't remember where I put the weights for rebalancing it though.

Does anyone know the viability of Normal vs. Hard modes? I played and loved the beta, but I must admit it was incredibly easy and I’m not sure if I ever even got below half health, and maybe used one or two potions the whole time.

IE – Is the game designed to be able to beat it on hard the first play through? Will I level any faster and/or pick up better gear faster? I know you do in nightmare/hell/inferno, but haven’t really heard or read anything on hard mode specifically. I’m sure it will get harder as I progress past level 13 on normal, just curious if we’ll get rewarded for the added early challenge if we so choose.

Hardcore isn't any harder...it just comes with permadeath.

It sounds like this is your first go at Diablo...stick with Normal. It will get hard, trust me.

The point is to beat the game on Normal, and then move on to the next difficulty with the same character.

Normal - easy
Nightmare - challenging
Hell - extremely difficult
Inferno - smash your face against the wall

Just so you know, it's Hardcore mode, not just a Hard mode. It's, as far as we know, identical to Normal for everything except the whole permadeath thing.

Which one has the most undercore scarf? It's all about the scarf man, and you better make the right decision!

Edit: I clearly didn't read the post properly. Nevermind.

Yeah...go normal the first time. It will get harder. Unless you want to risk getting to the last act, dying, and then having to start over. Once you beat it, you can decide if you want to take that character into Nightmare difficulty (and eventually Hell and Inferno) or start over with a different character in hardcore.

There are some who will start with hardcore, but they're all vets familiar with the ins and outs of the game and the risks associated with the mode.

Thread title should be changed to:

Diablo III |OT| Click, Yoshichan post, Click, Yoshichan post, click...

Come on, stop exaggerating. It's not as though he has spammed out more than three times the number of posts of the next closest poster.

Hopefully this will be the case. I'm hoping hell wasn't dumbed down to make inferno look much more (artificially) difficult!

Time for my first complaint in awhile! Did they ever patch in an option so that you can take away the sound that pops up everytime someone types in the chat? It was really getting on my nerves in the beta...

I'm on a wall of shame? I think that's my first or second time ever actually. The other being SC2 in community at one point.

I doubt it will last. Especially come the weekend when I'm barely on a PC. Heck I even got normal people sleep. Only reason I'm on it now is thanks to work lasting 9 hours and I'm on the computer on GAF the whole time.

I don't know if I expect Act 1 Hell in D3 to be as hard as Act 1 Hell in D2, but I expect it to ramp up that much over the entire difficulty for sure.

Haha, duh. Well that might explain why I haven't read much about a 'hard' difficulty.

Edit: Not ready to try hardcore yet.

But I guess it seems like the consensus is I'll get pwned if I do anything other than Normal first play through. Got it.

No such thing as "hard" mode. There's Hardcore mode which makes death permanent but that's the only change, the difficulty is unaffected.

Normal = Easy, Nightmare = normal, Hell = Hard, Inferno = Very Hard. You play through each one in order for each character kinda like a new game + feature in other games

Hah, same. I'll lose my spot come this weekend.
Hopefully

I'm a bit worried that my video card is below recommended specs. Here's my rig:

Athlon II X4 635 2.9GHz
4 gigs of RAM
ATI Radeon HD 5570

It's a low profile case so my video card options are limited. How do you think I'll do? Medium settings?

Thanks. :)

Yeah for sure. I even remember a blue post mentioning how they changed how the difficulty ramps up in Diablo 3. In D2, you'd immediately stumble upon a huge difficulty spike as you entered a new difficulty-level. In D3, they've said that (example) act 5 on normal will be harder than act 1 on nightmare. So everything isn't "automatically" much harder just because you're in a higher difficulty.

The only thing I'm curious about is the level curve. By the sound of things, you might not be 60 until Inferno? Oh boy :(

You're not supposed to start inferno until you're 60 anyway, that's the whole point of that difficulty :3 Enemies are level 60-63 on inferno.

yeah it sounds like you should hit level cap right around Act 4 hell.

That's what it seemed like just
based off enemy levels anyway
.

Well, yeah, but, put another way, that's basically 1-20 Normal, 21-40 Nightmare, 41-60 Hell, 60-ph4tlewtz Inferno. Looking through builds and stuff, that really puts a lot of time until the sweet, sweet runes :x

Well Inferno is 60 only. So you'll hit 60 in Hell - which might take more than just one playthrough (just like there was a range of levels you could be at beating the Skeleton King for the first time in the beta.)
