Yeah, it was me.
But I'm not counting the amulet, won't sell my preciouuuus
I made that gold selling stuff, I was on fire, I can finally buy my Stormshield now :)

Yeah if you are gonna sell that amulet, you're gonna want to wait for the RMAH ;)

I wouldn't sell it either though, that thing was hawt, I think just about everybody who was reading the thread when you posted it remembers it :lol

O.O

God damn, second ring of the day. for the first time i'm having to think which rings i'll use.

Damn, this one is pretty fucking good too.

I'm up to 51k dps, but only ~14k hp and ~200-ish resists. This cannon is so glass, it can't take a shot from anything past act I without breaking.

I can see that, but I'm keeping my tinfoil hat on the table where I can grab it on a moment's notice. They've known all along that there'd be this system (the AH) that would completely pierce the kill --> loot --> upgrade --> kill paradigm that has driven these loot-whoring games for years. The goblin farming, KH running, and AH buying/selling are all things that we human beings would discover and "use" to make our lives so much easier. The first two are bugs (design issue with the gobbie placement, lack of testing with KH), but the third has always been there.

I thought the AH system wasn't in place from the start? It was one of the later additions? Or is that just my memory trying to piece together a rationale for how clunky it is?

Also, it really feels like a lot of the QA testing didn't actually try to game the system. That they tested that everything was functional in single player progression "as intended" rather than shortcuts.

From what I'm gathering:

- The Asian servers are getting a rollback and the dupe was real on their end.
- The dupe never made it to the American servers
- A bunch of people jumped on the opportunity and trolled two continents
This looks accurate.

This was truly a legendary troll.

They openly stated they didn't balance or design any of the gameplay with the AH in mind.

It sounds like there testers tested the game throughly through hell with just playing the game. The testers real test should have been, break this game as bad as you can.

Right, and I agree that it feels that way. I was more commenting in response to this:

Edit:

They also played through Inferno, though I don't think it's the one we ended up getting but an easier one. But all that making it harder really does, as far as a loot game is concerned, is drive the amount of time spent farming up. The game isn't really hard, it just has minimum values you need to make progress.

Inferno is fairly easy all things considered. It just has a lot of time needed to farm to make progress which isn't what most everyone expected it seems.

The AH was one of the new features when touting what was new about D3. It not being available to test against what just bad luck on their part with regards to it not being ready for launch (or beta, or even alpha, etc.). I do believe they didn't think of the AH with more than just an afterthought. It was this "thing" that was being developed by a separate team that may or may not affect the core team. I also think it was a bad idea for them to not think through what the AH might do.

At the most basic level for detection, automating commands is not fundamentally different from botting. In practice though, bots are amazingly full featured! A friend of mine tried a DH-specific bot programmed explicitly for the crypts that not only broke ashes/vases but preemptively shot arrows where skeletons would spawn. Damn, now I need to find out if he got banned too!

If he did, tell him to just roll his system clock back 2 days.

Sooooo if I use a program that lets me easily swap into my mf gear, am I gonna get banhammered?

Like I others I would say stay away. I did this myself for about an hour the other day. Even with the script I hated it. So I just buckled down and upgraded my gear to have MF. I can break 200% easy now with 5 NV stacks. And thankfully the little time I used the script did not get me a ban. But I would still stay away.

Now fingers crossed I don't get banned for AH cancel bug. I never tried to make money off it, was just canceling things that were not selling even with low buy outs.

EDIT: Got this yesterday and guessing I sold it to cheap. It sold in 15 mins for about 1.25Mil

I wouldn't risk it. Not for something that takes just 10 clicks and 15 seconds to do.

I could eventually do it so fast that my frenzy stack wouldn't wear off. Although I don't do it solo now because Tyrael can't finish off the last couple % of Siegebreaker if he randomly one shots me in my terrible MF gear.

But yeah, relying on an outside program sounds foolish to me considering they specifically went out of their way NOT to allow weapon swapping which was a feature in the previous game. Let alone full gear set swaps. DarkD3 is okay in their book since it provides no gameplay advantages but weapon swaps is no.

I miss weapon swap =/

Oh wow, I definitely would have bought that off you for that price.

They have reportedly refrained from adding gearswap so elite killing/farming does not turn into a gimmick where you HAVE to have a full mf gear ready so you can stay competitive with the rest of the exploit-ready guys farming chests and goblins :p

Like they wanted to discourage kiting. What we got was just more annoying, since you have to kite regardless...

What does common sense tell you in this case? :p
That they can't detect you doing it if your script randomizes clicks and you're not manipulating memory/hooking into the game in any way.

They have reportedly refrained from adding gearswap so elite killing/farming does not turn into a gimmick where you HAVE to have a full mf gear ready so you can stay competitive with the rest of the exploit-ready guys farming chests and goblins :p
And how is that working out?

Time for gear swaps to remove Nephalem Valor stacks as well (and then boost NV by 5% per stack to compensate)!

My GF and I play as a Wizard/Barbarian respectively. We find it a good combo.

To keep things from getting stale we're going to roll another combo. She's already decided on a Monk.

I wish to know which of a Demon Hunter or Witch Doctor would supplement the monk best?

Thanks!

Lol, I use an mf gear swap macro like allll the time. It's awesome getting elites down to like 1-5% hp, then hotkeying to swap my gear in < 1s and then killing them with 252% mf. :D

They don't even need to consider any solutions that alter game mechanics outside of MF at all.

They're better off just doing something like causing gear swapping to set your MF to (0 + NV) for X seconds after changing a piece of equipment.

I swap gear too, but don't use any kind of macro or scripting. How can you make a script/macro that does this? Doesn't your mouse cursor have to be involved in some way? I would imagine anything driving your mouse cursor would be a pretty big no no.

What's the point of MF gear if they don't want you to equip it?
