Things have been a bit stale the past few issues, but I understand that there will always be lulls and had faith that the story would pick up again in a new way.

I read the comics before season 1 started and loved them! I think I will start reading them again once I finish Battle Royale because I am nose deep in that crazy book at the moment, but I am almost done.

Finished up to current just now. I don't usually do series that are still in production, but this had such a volume of work thought it'd be worth going through.. that and someone had got me the compendium awhile back.

I'm still loving it, but not sure how much more shit I can handle Rick, Andrea, and Carl taking. They've been through hell 3 times over (Atlanta, Prison, Hunters, and now this).. guess that's 4 times over.

I haven't read the comic in about a year now but I still think Kirkman killed off too many good characters early on. Two come to mind in the prison arc.

Hey guys, I'd like to make a new OT. I'd update it monthly with each new issue but also update it anytime a new cover is announced or any news / rumors are posted

Would be used for discussing ONLY the comic series... past, present, or future of the comic discussion permitted. I'd like it to be a welcoming thread for all sorts of TWD comic readers: Veterans, noobs, and the dudes who watch the TV show who are looking to get into the comic. I would fill it with the most optimal way to catch up to the latest issue and keep it updated with the release dates of upcoming volumes etc etc.

The thread would be CONSTANTLY updated with the latest information so it could be an outlet of news / information for all TWD fans!

Got the first compendium and blasted through it in a few days. Epic end to #48. I also picked up the next TPB and I think I'm just going to keep going until I catch up. I can't put the book down to be honest with you and I can't wait to see how much further Rick goes before he finally gives in to the torture... sick I know.

From what I can surmise TWD #100 is almost out. I'm at #51 now, so I'm more than halfway there.

I'm shocked at how different the show and comic are. Glad I started going through this, I watched the show first and am now reading during the break.

I wouldn't think so. I have most the comics and bought the compendiums and I feel like the compendium holds up much better and get read much more....I can just carry 1/2 the series around instead of just a couple. Better value too unless but you do miss out on the covers of each issue if you do the compendium and you don't get the "behind the scenes" stuff if I remember right.

Negan comes in with his men and gives Rick his terms, then leaves. Carl sneaks in one of the vehicles with a AR, and when he gets back to Negan's camp, he shoots a bunch of guys before being captured by Negan.

It's a couple months or so from when the last issue in the trade paperback came out and the tpb release. I switched to floppies a couple years ago cuz I couldn't stand waiting anymore. But the schedule was worse before; at least now they stay on schedule for the most part.

I expect this very much. I expect bad decisions from Rick (which there have been many, but who says he'll ever stop making them?) end up making Carl knock him off as he's holding everyone back and is a liability.

Then again, if you go back and look at the release of Issue 108 and subsequently Volume 18, there was almost a three month gap there...
