I was browsing the HaloGAF thread yesterday and saw that a member (TheOddOne, if I recall correctly) was recently demoted back to junior because he was "being dumb". I also seem to remember other members being demoted to Jr. as well, so I can obviously gather that it's a punishment of sorts.

But what else? Is it purely comedic, such as Blame Space's hilarious Junior Junior membership? Does it act as a shaming method to attract the ire of more senior members? Or, given that juniors can get permabanned for stepping out of line just once, is it an effective method of communicating probation for the mods without forcing them to check a premade member-watch list?

Or is it all three?
