It's ok-ish as long as it doesn't go below 10k.

I would not claim the PSVita to be 'ok-ish' when it is:

- Lower than the PSP (again)
- About to be passed by the Wii
- Will drop to less than 10k (again)
- Has no software in the top 30
- Was just outsold almost 20:1 by a hardware revision

All eyes to TGS for Japan.

Given how strong the Persona brand is at the moment with the great sales enjoyed by the P4 anime, P4G, and now P4U... I honestly think that this year is the year to announce Persona 5. Even if the game isn't going to be ready for a while, it would be a good show on Atlus' part to assure fans of what's next so they won't lose interest. This really does feel like the peak of popularity for the brand in terms of cross-media and cross-genre synergy.

If all DLC came tied to $13 figurines, I'd consider all DLC to be free
Impressive that the 3DS barely dropped when the LL appeared; it appear that the LL isn't cannibalising sales of the original.

I'll be interested to see the top 50 when it appears, I'm curious if the LL has also resulted in a surge of the less successful titles.

Edit: In fact: none of the Trinity?

3DS also had a strong release with NSMB 2 - sales could still drop further next week, though i doubt it.
Looks like Rune Factory 4 has the best second week the franchise ever had. Looking good for Marvelous.

Dont know, looks like they had some stock issues it was sold out most days of last week on amazon.

Pretty sure this will happen soon. After August they have nothing planned except MegaTen 4, which would be an incredible dry spell considering we've had something MegaTen at any one point for nearly a year now.

Is the Persona brand, or just Persona 4-related products? Persona 2 on PSP sold poorly this year, but it is true that the fighting game, the anime and The Golden went well. Could Atlus just make a Persona 4-2 instead of Persona 5? Just askin'. It's weird, though, to see such success given the fact the Persona 4 dates back to 2008.

Cores, shaders and BIOS oh my!

They should probably have re-released p3 and p2 and every other one with p4 characters replacing their original cast, lol.

Agreed. It'd be a huge mistake to not announce the game at TGS this year.

The best way for them to introduce P5 is when there's still lots of buzz for Persona 4, there's a higher chance of getting people interested in buying the next installment that way - striking while the Persona name is hot and all

Like I mentioned in a previous MC thread, I consider the "Persona brand" to be the modern Persona style brand with Soejima art at the forefront. Persona 3, Persona 4, Catherine are all enjoying a whole different level of popularity than older Persona games and classic SMT games. It's the modern anime pop style combined with fashionable high school art direction and catchy music that's really helping the brand do well imo.

They did make a Persona 4-2 though. That's what P4U is. :)

I was saying a couple of months ago that I wouldn't be surprised to see Persona 4-2 made by the Persona B-Team (P4G guy as director, Doi on art direction, Kitajoh and Konishi on soundtrack). Pretty confident the main team won't be working on that though. Hashino has had pretty much no part in any of the expansion of the series.

Such an split market. You'd think the PSP would be dead by now but it is still selling tons of software.

Oni Training bomba? Maybe it will keep selling forever, dunno if that market is still there.

Listen, and understand. That PSP is out there. It can't be bargained with. It can't be reasoned with. It doesn't feel pity, or remorse, or fear. And it absolutely will not stop, ever.

Nice uphold for Rune Factory and a relatively disappointing opening for Mario.
Also, amazing second relaunch of the 3DS.

Impressive sales for Persona 4: Arena

If New Super Mario Bros 2 numbers includes download cards, I expected more (Actually I expected more in any way). But there is no doubt it will sell very well in long term.

Famitsu; does not include "best" and other releases.

The 3DS percentage is off. It should obviously be more than PS3's %, for example.
The 3DS is the one right, the others are wrong.

Original 3DS numbers are great as well. It didn't lose so much with respect to previous weeks. 3DS and 3DS XL will probably split the market to reach the 70-80k mark.

Btw, 3DS is a really health ecosystem for games. Monster Hunter 3G is really a beast, and the budget release is not even out. Also niche games such as the N1 one or Run for the Money are performing incredibly well.

Crazy :) And it probably outsold all 3 iterations of Blazblue combined :D

Great 3DS numbers, but also (especially?) very good numbers for the 3DS, that's the positive sign for Nintendo.
So and so debut for Mario (I mean, it has just 2 days counted, but I was expecting it over 500K), while Oni training seems to confirm the that kind of "fever" is faded, also if it could put decent number in Japan in the long term.
Good performance for LBX, DQM and RF4 imho.
LBX is almost at 100K that could be easily reached within few weeks: it seems that L5 is able to being profitable with their "fanservice/milking" projects that probably are giving them the money to try to find out the next "big thing".

Is there any chance we'll see Persona 5 on PS3 or at this late stage in the generation is it a no go (and come to handhelds or another platform)

Really surprised to see Digimon holding strong, I thought that franchise had kind of died out in terms of public mind share. Just Dance 2 also had a really strong opening wonder if Just Dance 4 for Wii U will be a big launch title for the system (assuming it's launch in Japan)

What's the next biggest titles for the two handhelds anyway? PSV has that music one (green hair girl who I've forgotten what her name was) around in August. What about the 3DS ?

It has a couple of nice titles heading to Japan in Oct, but I can't think of anything before that.

PSV really needs to get in shape and quick, hopefully something nice will be revealed at TGS.

Level-5 should really consider whether to bring W on 3DS or not. Even though it will be impossible to release that along with PSP and Vita version, a Boost entry in the Christmas period should really do well.

I believe Animal Crossing 3ds has a still unspecific September release date. The sales on that will be very interesting to watch.

Hell yeah Persona 4. Not a fan of fighting games though but good to see it do well.

I wanna fast forward 2-3 years from now and see how much Oni Training has sold then.
