Sven: Capcom has some good stuff coming to Wii U

I would love something like Shounen Jump vs Capcom instead of TvsC2, mainly because there are not much interesting Tatsunoko characters left.

That would never get an export in a million years, though. The American rights are spread out between too many companies for it to be viable. It's the same reason why the only Super Robot Wars games we ever got were the GBA Original Generation titles.

When RE 4 and Umbrella Chronicles sold well, people spammed the Capcom boards for a new and RE 4 like Resident Evil game. And other stuff. Sven (Capcom guy) said "first you will need to pass a few tests guys".

He said it jokingly, but hey you know the internet.

He said it jokingly but it really fits.

RE4 and UC (on rail RE) yielded yet another on rail RE instead of a full fledged RE.

Then when said cash-in and other cash-ins underperformed, all support was done.

There was no way to pass the test and be rewarded with a traditional RE from the ground up.

If its a Sven thread, say its a Sven thread! Minutes of my life. Precious. Like tears in rain.
XD Same thing that makes me wary, it's the same guy that tease there was gonna be Monster Hunter info by the years end and the Last Ranker, was he also the same one who teased Ace Attorney Investigations 2?

Good stuff or "good stuff"? Capcom has gone to shit faster than any company in my memory. At the beginning of this gen we got Mega Man revival, Bionic Commando revival, new IPs like Lost Planet and Dead rising, fighting game revival...

Then they cancelled mega man, turned Resident Evil to shit, destroyed Devil May Cry, and went way overzealous on the dlc, lied to fans over and over, and forgot how to spell.

Sure they do...

The sad thing is that's how it is at Capcom HQ with the business man running the show :(

Dragon's Dogma: Director's Cut

this, such an awesome and fantastic game, and the touchscreen could make navigating and using the menus sooo much easier, better and faster!

at least I really hope they make Dragon's Dogma 2 next gen and have it hit Wii U first. Probably not likely though.

Please be Okami. It makes no sense not to make one for the Wii U.

It'll be another port of the PS2 version. They won't ever bother to upscale it to 720p and the cover art will be a piece of fan art they grab from DeviantArt with a highly visible water mark in the middle.

Don't be so negative. I'm sure Capcom will put some effort into making this into an on-rails shooter. Okami, Lightside Chronicles.

I know that western devs couldn't give a single fuck about the Wii, but if Capcom is the biggest Wii supporter after treating it like shit for the better part of this gen then things must be bad all over.

Capcom put out at least one good game ever year on the Wii from 2007 to 2010. 2007 saw the release of RE 4 port, Zack & Wiki, and RE: Umbrella Chronicles. 2008 had Okami and 2009 had RE: Darkside Chronicles. 2010 had Monster Hunter Tri and Tatsunoko vs. Capcom.

Capcom stopped supporting the Wii after Monster Hunter Tri came out. Most third-parties stopped green lighting new Wii projects at least a year before because of the generally low sales of core titles. I can't really blame them for wanting to turn their focus strictly to multiplatform titles on 360 and PS3 because it made more business sense.Wii owners wanted RE 5, but the Wii's hardware likely meant it couldn't handle the game that well so we would gave gotten a crappy port like how the port of Dead Rising turned out. Fortunately, Wii owners didn't seem to be missing out on much since most people didn't like the way RE 5 turned out.

Ace Attorney Saga + Apollo Justice HD, with bonus Miles Edgeworth 1 & 2 included!

If only...

...but it'll be Ultimate Marvel VS Capcom 3-U, still with Jill and Shuma as DLC! :p

I disagree, there's still a plethora of Tatsunoko stuff they haven't added (villains like fucking Braiking Boss, even titles like Samurai Pizza Cats (which surprised the dev) and stuff like SoulTaker), hell they even have a wishlist about it.

But sadly the only route they can take so far is a three-way crossover with Marvel. :<

Wastes hours checking old Famitsu software data, but that's why we love him.
Well, I think it would be foolish to think Capcom isn't bringing anything-clearly Nintendo is holding back in Japan.

But I'm not expecting miracles. Think a fighting game port and enhanced Dragon's Dogma are the safest bets.

Why is it always Capcom with this cryptic bullshit? I can't be the only one getting tired of it.

They never just announce the news anymore... no matter how insignificant.

To be fair, Dead Rising 2 can actually run on Wii U hardware.

Actually I believe the quote originated from a Capcom executive during an interview. Sven then continued with it. Even saying things such as Zak & Wiki failed the test. RE4 and RE:UC were tests. Then they made further test games. Dead Rising failed. It then perpetuated to other game companies. EA even made comments saying Dead Space was a test.

I want to believe, but after the Wii I'm in wait and see mode. Also, Zack & Wiki 2 with major touchscreen support please.

RE5 WiiU. RE6 WiiU. RE1-4, CV & Chronicles on WiiU digital download.

Capcom never passes up on a chance to resell RE games.

Speaking of which, as for RE0-3, will we see them again? Capcom would have to go back and redraw every background if I'm not mistaken. Seems kind of expensive, but then I wonder if they could outsource to a computer art company that doesn't do video games and wouldn't take up any of their dev resources. I guess we'll see if they think it's worth it.

Zack & Wiki, MonHun and Tatsunoko are the only games there I would consider legit attempts to support the console. The rest are either mediocre ports of games everyone already played or shitty on rails spinoff games.

And if devs decided to treat the Wii like the clear market leader and develop real core games rather than spinoffs, ports and shovelware, then maybe the core gamers would have actually stuck with the console and bought the games instead of moving on to the HD twins.

What, you did like the Castlevania Fighting Game or Soul Calibur Adventure Game?

Something like that.

I still can't process the thought that freaking Zack & Wiki was a "test". I love the game, I honestly do, but surely Capcom knew Z & W was a bomb waiting to happen?

That's a good point. I almost want to joke that they would upscale the Gamecube versions add AA and some kind of grain filter to make it look detailed.

A TatsuCap 2 really needs Pizza Cats and Speed Racer (and maybe Superbook? Guess that'd be a fucking nightmare) to have its existence validated, but to be honest I'd just be thrilled to get to use Casshern again.

I would main the fuck out of Casshern with Lyuze and Friender assists after ToonamiGAF got me hype on Sins again. :lol

Hey look, a company making vague promises about a system that is not out yet so as not to over commit by actually saying anything but also not burning bridges.
Let the people begin the irrational hype!
