That looks terrible. Why is X super skinny and wearing a black catsuit underneath his gauntlets and greaves?

Of all the games that don't work on touch controls, something that requires a constant combination of jumping and shooting with pinpoint accuracy seems like an odd choice. Even Megaman 2 on IOS is awful and that only needs 2 buttons.

They should have just developed a new 2D game with controls that are based around the touch screen (like Ghost Trick) rather than use shitty on-screen buttons, but of course it's easier to whore out an old franchise based around tight button controls to gain some kind of recognition in an increasingly crowded market.

I love Megaman games, and have an iphone, but won't be touching this after being burned on various other 2D stuff that used similar interfaces.

SHIT! How do you do this? How do you screw this up? I don't understand! It just looks like a disaster on all fronts, looks bad gameplay, intrusive interface, Newgrounds/Flash-type graphics (as has been pointed out earlier)....what?

What the fuck...seriously? "But you guys wanted Mega Man games! Here's Mega Man! Don't you like Mega Man, you guys keep shouting and complaining about it! Why don't you want it?"

...

I'm waiting for Megaman X: Corrupted. That thing has been taking around 4 years, but the programmer had to rebuild most of it recently or something of the sort according to the Facebook page for that game.

Zero Series is pretty good, by the way. 2 or 3 are the best, but I'd vote 3.

I'm suddenly so, so afraid for Ace Attorney 5.

You'd think nothing could go wrong, just make solid cases. But it could go so horribly, horribly wrong.

The idea of a cross-over between every Mega Man series isn't bad, it could be awesome... But please Capcom, tell me there is another version made by Inti Creates for consoles or something :/

This looks terrible.

I officially have no more feelings to give to capcom, I'm just going to assume EX TROOPERS is going to be cancelled and save myself a lot of bother.

Oh and think Megaman an invention of Archie cuz, you know, they actually are DOING SOMETHING with the franchise rather than this nonsense.

As a side, would totally play a Sword Art Online game that had Rougelike ideas for your save file should you cop it.

Looks wretched, but at least the GIFs are funny. I guess that's more entertainment than we would otherwise have gotten out of Megaman this year.

Hail, peons, for I have come as ambassador from the great and bountiful Blueberry Butt Explosion
Hahahahahaah

The concept art looked pretty awesome, and then I saw the screen shots.

What the fuck is THAT

Um...where are all the shadows on the cast? I see a small gradient going on the Metool's helmets but Megaman is super saturated. and none of them cast any shadows. It makes them look out of place and slapped on. The concept of an all megaman crossover 2d game is good. As an RPG maaaaaaaaaybe. It'd at least be doable storyline wise, but really something like this should be handled Mega Man X style with different runs as different characters presents different challenges on all the stages and possibly different paths to access with them.

I'm sorry, but this needs more work Capcom. It looks cheap even for iPhone tie ins. Not really the best way to bring back a character people are begging for. Right idea putting them all in a game, but it looks really poorly executed and not all of us own apple products.

Not even Sonic ever hit rock bottom this hard. 06 wishes it could hold a candle to how badly trashed the Megaman franchise has become. Just holy shit.

I am laughing at all of the reactions in this thread as a means of coping with my bitter disappointment with the look of this new game.

Mega Man is my favorite gaming franchise. Heck, I am a big fan of Battle Network and Star Force. I own both the GBA releases of Mega Man Zero and the DS Collection. I even kinda like the iOS port of Megaman 2, wonky as it is. I would have bought anything that half-way resembled a decent Mega Man game. I don't think this game even approaches that simple standard.

What the heck happened to the decent sprite artists anyways? It seems like they were around making good looking DS games only three or four years ago, but Square Enix and Capcom both have been putting out games with rather lousy sprite-work in the last couple of years. When the iOS craze took off, did they take it as a sign to fire all of their good sprite artists for some backwards reason?

I never thought Mega Man would crash and burn so hard, especially back when MML3 and MMU were still in development...

And to Flynn's credit, he's writing the comic rather decently. I like the Spiritus Ex Machina arc a lot, and it's surprisingly weaving in some stuff from Super Adventure Rockman in addition to MM3.

I think this arc's better than the last two, anyway, especially with the AI debates and subtle nods to that.

I guess this is what Svensson was trolling talking about last year.
Change has been a constant during my six years at Capcom (vastly for the positive) but I want to be crystal clear on this point. Mega Man is a key brand for Capcom and will remain so. I don’t have any products we’ve announced publicly that I can point to and say “see, I told you” but there are “top men” (“top men”? “Yes, top men”) within Capcom thinking about the future of the brand and where it’s going. We will have official announcements in due course.

This is absolutely an issue that keeps me up at night. Unfortunately there are times that we have to make decisions that don’t make sense to the community and the fallout, while understandable is regrettable. Our relationships with fans are extremely important and I know we’ve got some that are disenfranchised right now.

Unfortunately, in this situation, there is no panacea. It’s going to take time to rebuild those bridges. Product cycles are long and it’ll be a little while until fans can see the light at the end of the tunnel. And the last thing I want to do is prematurely announce something in the name of sating the fans that gets cancelled or redirected later, thereby creating an even larger wound. I can only ask for people’s patience.

The iOS version of Mega Man X was pretty good. Much more playable than it looked. Only problem I had with it, after adjusting to the graphics, were the segmented levels.

Yeah, it was playable after you fixed the camera setting (don't know why they had a zoomed in setting).

I'm showing Capcom that there's still an interest in Mega Man by buying the game. It played well and it's a fast way to get my MMX fix when I'm out and about.

buy Megaman X Maverick Hunter -remake instead, thats actually good an has new stuff in it too! :D

I only immediately recognized Rock and X at first glance and I thought the game was finally going to be the game that ties the classic series to the X series.

Then I saw the screens.

God damnit.

Ugh, you disgust me Capcom. You'll cancel Legends 3, but put out this piece of shit? Go burn in a special place in hell Capcom.
