343i is just doing SO much for the competitive community.

Why else would they fly pros to their studio to author a book on how to use the Hardlight shield?

Oh, they didn't focus on the features that would make competitive gaming leagues actually want to pick up their game and foster and further the eSports scene and Call of Duty did?

So now we have a strategy guide authored by former Halo pros since there's not a competitive scene anymore.

Next week we get new Spartan Ops missions, so that will distract me for the next 35 minutes at least. Then I can go back to refilling my Halo 4 Mountain Dew bottles with my own tears.

Okay...

Time to close the Black Ops 2 stream.

You're my new favourite poster.

I wonder if there's any plans to release something in regards to Halo 4 at these events, or if they're just gonna be playable at PAX and Canada.

Would you like me to spew undying love for an infallible developer?

Campaign looks fine for those interested in that.

Spartan Ops will be sick for Co-Op with friends.

The new books will be great for the people who enjoy that.

Forward Unto Dawn will scratch the Halo movie itch that most fans have.

The new toys look great and will be awesome for collectors.

I'm not sold on the merits of competitive multiplayer yet.

Sue me.

This is actually better than your previous post, which was pretty hard to beat.

Don't whine about competitive multiplayer, but 5 pages of toys and book talk is fine.

Give 343 a break, their game doesn't come out till November, so MP isn't ready to show yet.
Halo 4 looks radically different than Reach, which was significantly different than 3, while Call of Duty has been pretty much the same game since 4 w/weapon mods and some expanded features like films.

Most of the comparisons are made in ignorance. My favorite argument is "Halo X wasn't as competitive as Halo Y, so I'm going to play Call of Duty". Get real.

Eh, MLG is a part of the overall Halo community. They have as much right to an opinion as anyone. Sure, some of the lamentation over the multiplayer aspect of Halo 4 is hyperbole and constructively worthless ("dice rolls" et al), but some cogent arguments have been made.

Here is the LE edition armor:

To be honest, I really prefer the Console LE armor and goodies.. On top of that, the Specializations are available for everyone who preorders the game apparently..mix that with the War Games Season Pass and the Halo 4 LE is really losing value. =/

I approve of the Unicorn. Been rocking the unicorn emblem since Halo 3, super pumped that I can now wear it as an armor perm.

Oh, wait. I'm not getting the console. Which means I can't do either. Gonna go join u4ix in creating some sweet Mountain Dew tear juice now.

Assuming these are true - and I have no idea...

For both it's like they said:

"OK we have to include SOMETHING in these packages... quick, everyone empty their hard drives, what do we have left?"

Do people really like this digital "stuff"?

So wait, is the unicorn armor real or not?

If it is, I will never use another armor. Ever.

EDIT: Wait, it's only if you get the console? Fuck. I knew I shouldn't have got the GoW 3 console and held out a little longer.

Also:

Sites were reporting that people who preorder the game from certain retailers such as gamestop would get em, I wasn't sure if it was true but then that turned up.

Checked out Gamestop's site, because I have already pre-ordered the LE. I think the advertisement you posted can be a little misleading, but they do put an asterisk on it with that 'terms and conditions apply' garbage.

You need to preorder LE to get instant access to the additional 6 specializations, which are the 'terms and conditions' they are referring to. At least that is still the the case at gamestop. I didn't check anywhere else.

I want as many in-game assets as I can get. At this moment, I need to pre-order from several different retailers (one of which doesn't have a store in my state, another which doesn't have a store in my country), I have to pre-order the Limited Edition of the game and I have to purchase the Limited Edition Console. Assuming I have to follow through with each of those pre-orders, that's eight copies of the game with one of those being the Limited Edition. In total I have to spend at least $560 on the games alone with another $400 for the console. Throwing in sales tax in Alabama, that brings my total up to around $1050 for content that's probably already on the disc.

Obviously that won't be happening, but the fact that this is the only way revealed thus far to get all of the in-game content rubs me the wrong way. This makes the sole reason for me spending an extra $40 on Halo 4 is for some armor that doesn't look too great but still looks better than most of the bubbly visorless stuff we've seen that makes SPARTANs look like they have some terrible late-stage space cancer or like a Decepticon.

Dramatically less salt. Thanks.

If this is true, I'm not bothering with the LE.

Edit : Looks like it's not true! LE it is, then.

Wait, so we can't use the Recruit/Revised ODST armor unless we get the LE?

edit: Or is it just the skin for the armor?

That's incredibly disappointing that one of the best looking armors is restricted to those who purchase the LE.

All this complaining and BLOPS2 shit is getting fucking old and annoying. Go play and worship that instead or...

...join Team SLRP. Its better over here, less stressful, and this Koolaid ain't bad.

I...really, really like the unicorn armor.

LE armor is nice too. And that's coming from someone who cannot stand most of the armor we've seen.

How about you comment on the things you like and don't like about what you've seen in Halo 4 and let others do the same? Others wanting to draw comparisons about things they'd like to see in Halo, by commenting on things found in other games seems valid... after all, because of feedback from the masses the evolution of Halo in it's default form now looks very little like it's roots.

That sure didn't happen because of comments from team downer. (no salt here, all winks and hugs n stuff)
