Gah.

Great gif.

Great headbutt.

Still unhappy about what happened after, so many years later. :(

Also: yay, I can finally be a Gundam in Halo!

So this is the Articles of Confederation armor?

History jokes. I kill me.

The reason why I like the Unicorn armor.

To be honest I want it for that reason, too.

I wished Halo 4's Mech would look much better. Especially since they added one.

Don't get me started. I really love the idea of having a mech but since Chief can take down a Scarab, this mech should've been much bigger - Gundam sized, or even as big as the Mortar Headds from Five Star Stories.

How about you comment on the things you like and don't like about what you've seen in Halo 4 and let others do the same? Others wanting to draw comparisons about things they'd like to see in Halo, by commenting on things found in other games seems valid... after all, because of feedback from the masses the evolution of Halo in it's default form now looks very little like it's roots.

That sure didn't happen because of comments from team downer. (no salt here, all winks and hugs n stuff)

I generally do. Jokes, jabs, and memes are mostly fun, but I feel this thread has gotten to a point where the complainers need to reign it in a bunch and the BLOPS talk needs to go to the BLOPS thread. Its not even a discussion or comparison of the games, its just complaining about what BLOPS2 is getting and its just getting old for me personally.

I'm personally nervous for Halo 4 and it being balanced, but overall I'm very excited. These new changes could be refreshing and really add some huge longevity to the game.

Edit: For those not familiar: POTUS.

Even though the game comes out of Election Day, I literally never even thought of that. But then that's because I know what FOTUS means.

What would you guys think about an item that repaired vehicles in MP? It could take up a weapon slot, leaving the player with only one weapon. Hold the trigger to use it, taking maybe 30 - 90 seconds to take a vehicle from "on fire" to brand new, depending on the vehicle type. Has a recharge timer so it can't be immediately used again.

As far as which game I'm most excited to PLAY, it's FAR and AWAY Halo 4.

I know what I'm getting if I play Black Ops 2.

Halo 4, without a much better way of me putting it, is a shot in the dark.

There was no public beta, I haven't played it at any conferences, so for me, I'm worried. The more I hear about the game, the more it excites me, but in the anxious, unsure, fingers crossed and hoping for the best kinda way.

I hope 343i and everyone else NAILS the damn game and I can't put it down. The things that keep me hooked on multiplayer haven't been announced yet, or have only been hinted at, so as the sleeps prolong and we get closer and closer to that fateful day, my worry also increases along with my excitement.

Now that Black Ops 2 has catered so much to the competitive community, the deciding factor is going to be if Halo 4 is more exciting to watch even with the CoDcast mode and it lacking an ease-of-use way to stream compeititions. Can Halo 4 hold on to its audience long enough on the competitive scene? Is the gameplay going to be addictive with the ranking system? Is there even a ranking system?

Another thing that worries me now, but excited me at first, was that maps were tailored to gametypes... Well in Halo 4 we've only seen a few gametypes and they revolve around slayer. We've seen new ways Oddball and Flag would be played, but nothing else.

That's bizarre to me.

You know you can shoot a pistol and run the flag, but why and how was this decision made? Is this for ALL CTF modes, is it an Armor Mod, what's the deal? They showed the clip and shut their mouths.

So I guess I'm more excited to play Halo 4 because it IS going to be a brand new gaming experience, but every Halo game has changed so much from the original formula. I understand the need to evolve, but I also feel like I have this need to know.

I know less about Halo 4 than I do about Black Ops 2 gameplay wise, that leads to more excitement, but also more uneasy anxiousness towards multiplayer.

If Halo 4 has some KILLER new objective game modes that highlight and push the use of these Armor Mods and Abilities, I could see myself loving the game to death. The strategies, the meta game, and the addictive drive to win will be there.

But if the new game modes are similar styles of Team Slayer and FFA, well, it'll get stale. If there's no TRUE USE of an Armor Ability or Mod than to just "cater to my style of play" well then I'd be inclined to go with CoD.

The formula they have used works, the modes they've added make me salivate as someone who loves creating content, and their reimagining of the class system and dedication to the hardcore community is something I can't shut out.

I've just been expressing these frustrations much less eloquently via my salty posts, but I want this forum, Frankie, David, and everyone else who sees my posts and thinks "what the hell is up this guys ass" to know that there's a decently well thought out reason for it and it isn't baseless hate.

The armor looks freaking sick. I'm a sucker for collecting and decking out my Spartan. I geeked about that in Halo: Reach. I love it. I'm a serious woman when it comes to shopping for Spartan Armor. That's something I'm really looking forward too. Then you add weapon skins and armor skins... megusta.jpg

There's a lot I'm looking forward too, but I'm content with those things. I don't see those things as needing any criticism, so I also don't see as frequent a need to go out of my way to praise those things as well.

What I'm concerned about I'm much more inclined to be vocal about, so while the majority of my posts recently have been with a negative connotation, it's not because I hate 343 or Halo 4 or anything really.

It's just something I see that I wish I either knew more about or wish would have been done slightly differently.

tl;dr

I ate a burger for lunch that was amazing.

Moronic idea.

My biggest concern right now is if the unicorn horn fits inside the banshee.
I would hate for my cosmetic choice of armor to impact my ability to man vehicles.

Oh my god...

You know what should happen?

If you've got that armor equipped, there should be an amimation of your spartan bumping his head while getting in to certain vehicles.

I would laugh every time.

Kinda off-topic but damn when I drove with my friend, I finally noticed the connection between the Covenant vehicles. It was mindblowing and I could not stop talking how stupid I was for not noticing it the last years.

It should retract back inside the main part of the helmet.

Wait a moment, isn't this the obligitory part of the thread where we come up with thread title ideas?

Could work. I think it'd have to be like Battlefield though where you have a tool or repair torch and have to hold it against the vehicle, so if you are driving you'd have to stop and get out, risking yourself.

I get it... and there is a fine line between the jokes, jabs, and memes and simple posts that, as u4ix put it have, "decently well thought out reason for it and it isn't baseless hate.

I'm still excited for a new Halo. It's the one game franchise that historically kept me gaming. I'm not on team downer or slurp, but fall somewhere pretty close to u4ix in his post below. Some of that is entirely due to how and what information has been released for H4. Most of what has been released concerns me for the MP, while the things I'm looking for have only been hinted at by Frankie.

Contrast that with Blops 2 info... where I was completely disinterested prior to the recent release of information, it made me stop and go Whoooooaaaaa... and it's the first time CoD ever did that for me. The info released there caters exactly to me in that it is centered around competitive game play and is offering something that is revolutionary in a console shooter.

I want this stuff in Halo - end of story. Not just a spectator mode, but a full suite of features catering to broadcast, commentary, and streaming of game play... and as great as these things are, I want it more than Spartan Ops, Forge, or Theater.

I want someone in 343 like David Vonderhaar, who grabs hold of competitive game play and does something new with it... because I truly believe a game that is balanced for competitive play by default is a game that casual players can enjoy too, and even that all the "fluff" developers place in games today can have a place in very specific play lists in the same game. I don't think the two are mutually exclusive within a game, but that you have to start at the core (competitive balance) and then split the two rather than starting with the fluff and peeling layers to get to the core.

I want as many in-game assets as I can get. At this moment, I need to pre-order from several different retailers (one of which doesn't have a store in my state, another which doesn't have a store in my country), I have to pre-order the Limited Edition of the game and I have to purchase the Limited Edition Console. Assuming I have to follow through with each of those pre-orders, that's eight copies of the game with one of those being the Limited Edition. In total I have to spend at least $560 on the games alone with another $400 for the console. Throwing in sales tax in Alabama, that brings my total up to around $1050 for content that's probably already on the disc.

Obviously that won't be happening, but the fact that this is the only way revealed thus far to get all of the in-game content rubs me the wrong way. This makes the sole reason for me spending an extra $40 on Halo 4 is for some armor that doesn't look too great but still looks better than most of the bubbly visorless stuff we've seen that makes SPARTANs look like they have some terrible late-stage space cancer or like a Decepticon.

It really does kill me how many armor sets and skins are tied to different stores.. Personally I am in love with the oceanic armor and the web skin... Ill likely have no way to get either and it really, really sucks.

So there is no way to get the Halo 4 console bundle armor other than buying the console? :/

As of now, no. Frankie had hinted that they may try to get all the armor out there for everyone post launch, but Ill believe it when I see it.. Somehow while Im sure 343 would love to give it to all of us, MS may have some reason that prohibits it. =(

Unicorn is fake?

Do I have to cry myself into a corner now?

No its real, it is the LE console armor.

What wrong with team slayer? It's the essence of Halo to the vast majority of players who play online and 343 are obviously trying to not make the experience stale, just look at ordnance. Many Gaffer's are worried about the overhaul, and believe the experience is evolving to far from Halo's roots. We know you love Shadowrun, but class gameplay is not very Halo. Being able to customize my Spartan to play in my OWN unique way trumps being shoehorned into a class. From what we know Armor abilities have "true uses" and the intent of mods/specializations is to accent our style.

But the gameplay is the same. They made content for a small community and thats cool of them, but it doesn't effect most COD players. If 343 spends time on making gameplay better and can't push out content for MLG/commentator's most of us won't lose sleep over it. Those communities already cover those venues, and sure it would be nice, but is it really worth going over to the dark side?
