Gamestop Manager's Conference

No big reveals really happen really during this event every year, but it could change this year since its now open to the public to play upcoming titles. As info releases- I'll try to keep it in this thread. =D

First photo from a Gamestop PR girl, someone find out what that Wii U ad says.

I think I see ninja gaiden 3 and NSMBU

What's te one in the middle? I thought nintendoland might be confinrmed as a retail title, but. I'm not sure.

I mean what's it for?.

=P

Basically its a fully paid conference from publishers and vendors to grab the attention of GS managers. Sell them on their games and products so they can talk it up through the holidays. They buy their love with free games, swag and early play.

I mean what's it for?.

pretty much for managers to see what coming out and what the should get ready for this holiday season. they also give the managers free swag and games,
i had an manager that wouldn't give the associates shit, but i did have other managers that gave me free games

Last year Max Payne had some info for the first time.
Maybe a behind closed doors GTA V trailer?

And I thought this was open to the public on the 2nd day for the first time this year?

Gamestop managers to know about upcoming holiday titles.

It's one of the largest live audiences I've ever demoed a game live in front of. At the Mandalay Bay Events Center there were about 6,000 people in the audience when I showed off Scribblenauts on stage.

so basicly publishers hate gamestop because they sell used game but at this "conference" they love gamestop ?

Fair enough

They need Game Stop to sell their systems and serve as retailer to a pretty big portion of their boxed copies of new titles.

When I worked at GS, the meeting in Texas was mainly a smaller scale E3 demo floor , along with sales meetings that discuss what previous sales numbers where, what are their goals for the coming holiday season and what they expect to be big sellers.

I'm not sure how that's going to change if they open it to the public. Hopefully we get some release info that we really want i.e. Can't wait to finally reserve my Wii U :)

I see from Major Nelson's site that he is in San Antonio for this and MS is having a keynote tomorrow night.

Seems like a good place to announce their holiday bundle and/or a price cut(if a price cut is actually going to happen)

Didn't EA show a Fight Night game (Round 3, I think) BCD before it was announced (again, I think, at the VGAs 2008) at this shindig to GS managers?

Edit: Not Round 3, but Round 4. In fact, here's video of it.

Gamestop Managers Conference: Where managers play games, and then toss their hands on experience out the window and replace it with "It got an 8.5 in GameInformer, would you like to buy a used copy?".

Seriously, this entire conference is a waste of money. The sad part is, they'll fly all these folks out to parade them around video games, and then cut their store hours and give them more work to do to make up for their losses.

All managers are getting the wii u this is confirmed by 4 diffrent manager friends of mine.

Rumor is an xbox 360 price drop hits also during the confrence along with windows 8 tablets at the show with some big xbox live games running on them.

I sense anger.

I sense anger.

As a former employee who did my best to stay partial, respect customers wishes, and correct most of my staff when they were feeding people BS (politely, mind you)...you could say I'm a little bitter with the way things were going down at the store I worked at.

I left voluntarily, couldn't deal with the "Go go go until no no no" stuff.

Damn, CSI IS REAL!

Totally believable :(
