Release date:

Price:
$14.99/£9.99/€12.99

I can't post the OT until Monday night, but I figured there are at least 3 or 4 of us who would appreciate a thread for this. It looks it will be divisive, but reviews are generally positive so far.

Venture Beat- 85/100

CVG - 8.2/10

IGN- 8/10

Destructoid - 7.5/10

Gamesradar - 2.5/5

Playstation Lifestyle - 3/10

I'll update the OP throughout the day (if anyone gives a shit).

Too strange to pass up. Sold ! Day 1.

If I understand/remember correctly, PlayStation LifeStyle was banned because like 2 years ago some asshole staff member was posting baseless rumors on Playstation lifestyle and then making GAF threads about them? And then being a dick on GAF even when his "news" was totally wrong? Something like that. The member was banned from GAF and then so was the website, but if you pay attention (though admittedly hard when the site is banned, heh) the site actually has a completely different staff now; it's now run by the same guy who runs Game Revolution.

Look I realize that sticking to the "5/10 being average" might not be popular these days with review scores only becoming more and more inflated, but the PS Lifestyle review was thorough and the text justifies the score. =/

This is probably the most I ever wanted a PS3. Never cared before but this game seriously caught my eye. How unique... I want.

I still want this silly game and the price is just right.

Also there's a Stealth thing that reminds me of other game... ;)

Glad I held off on importing this. Not that $15 is expensive at all, but are there any known extra incentives (early release, DLC) for PS+ yet?

is that a bad thing?

I don't know about you.. But I bought my ps3 to play ps3 games.. But again different people different taste. Try the game for yourselves and then give your verdict.. I gave mine (even though our site uses the 100 scale.. Lol ) , and I liked it for the first few hours, but then it became boring and felt more like a chore than a joy to play.. But again that is just my opinion.. So don't sue me..;0)

"The final set of disks is in an area so perilous that you will need to have unlocked the top tier of carnivores in the game to even have a chance..."

Totally isn't true, I think I unlocked most stuff with a Gazelle or deer. Which are pretty low level herbivores.

May be if you try to brute-force through the game to meet the review schedule, you'll need more powerful "soldiers".

How much time did you take to complete the game with your deers ?

If you rushed through using only 1 animal. Maybe 10hrs.

But I spent a good amount of time unlocking other animals. I think I finally finished the "story" after about 20hrs of play. Usually I would try to unlock both a new animal + a new story chapter per survival play-through. This was usually about 30mins of gameplay. The story chapters themselves can be much longer.

feels like Playstation 2 game to be honest.

i have thought for a while that one of the things missing from this generation is they type of quirky, mid-budget, experimental games that made the ps1 and ps2 generations so great, so i wont take the ps2 comment to be completely bad. i also dont care at all about graphics so that helps. i cant reply to your score yet since i dont own the game, but im sure ill post my thoughts eventually. you will all just have to be patient.

or very patient since i often play games years after they come out

I want it! Badly! PSN Release for $15? Sounds like a definite go. I'm hoping you can play as a Platypus. If not, I'll settle for nothing less than a Hippo.

Excited! Fantastically weird makes me joyful!

Had never heard of this until I saw the IGN review, I'm really interested in it. It's actually similar to a "game" I "made" in an Intro to Game Design class I took class last year. Kind of exciting.
