The CC2 Naruto games are great. Truly the best spectacle you can get in a fighting game story mode.

I dont think so, there was a thread here about it.is this still in effect?

$60 for it is wayyyy overpriced. You get basically the same game on iOS for $2 (well basically...)
8th Generation disks! Yeah I'm just playing around lol.
CyberConnect2 is open to bringing Naruto to Wii U.

Damn it, now I am convinced on buying Ninja Storm 3!
I just found the thread from 2005 when Microsoft announced the Xbox 360 2sku's prices and people where freaking out that the good sku was $400, I guess nobody wants to hear a $300+ price tag lol.

Lol I can only imagine how batshit crazy everyone went over the PS3's price.
Well I mean...it wasn't so much about price, it was more about what you want with the system. It came with HD cables, it came with a headset, it came with a hard drive that I knew was gonna be useful having owned the original Xbox. That $299 model existed solely so they could say they had a system out there for $299, but it was so barebones, and useless on it's own that you pretty much HAD to buy something else with it. At the very least you needed the memory card, because this was before it supported USB drives for saves. You still ended up having to spend $350 or more.
At least with the Wii U here though, I feel like there's value in the 8gb model. I'm getting the 32gb one, just cuz I was planning on getting Nintendo Land anyway. However, if someone doesn't care about Nintendo Land, I easily see the 8GB model being viable, because both systems have memory that'll need to be expanded eventually I think. The stands aren't really required either.
Lol what funny was someone go "499$? Not too bad." Bullshit..lol
What did you get and how much did you pay at PS3 launch?Annoyed you can't use the Pro controller for the MP of Nintendo Land or NSMB U, really thought they were finally giving people the choice of controls now...
For people who have either sold or never owned a Wii it just adds another $50 on to the price of the launch package for MP.
This is going to be almost as expensive as PS3's launch for me.
WiiU Premium pack with Nintendo Land.
NSMB U.
ZombiU.
Pro Controller.
Wii Motion plus controller.
Wii mote nunchuk controller.

Wow... just going through the thread and reading all those banned names... The ground must have been littered with corpses after all those reveals last gen.

Please show me were people, en masse, have been proclaiming that the PS3 would launch at $299 with a HDD? People's expectations of the PS3 price and included goodies are far more tempered than the expectations for the X360 price.
If it's $500 or $600, yeah, that shit will be hilarious. Anything else will be ho hum and par for the course.
lol @ reading those threads.
It's a shame we'll never see another $599 console from the Big 3 ever again. I'd love to be part of a crazy thread on GAF, with all the meltdowns and stuff.

Could also get.. Let's say.. a game with it
The complaining next year during the other consoles sequels will be legendary. Either the price will be too high or the consoles will be "too weak" because they don't match a gaming PC in a case six times the size that costs hundreds more.
That's okay, no matter what the information they have on Sony or Microsoft's next consoles, they'll still have plenty of middle ground in smack talking Nintendo.

Mario I don't getIt's still $50 that could be spent on another game if they just included pro controller support for MP on NL and NSMB U, just retarded imho...
And Nintendo fans have the reputation for being crazy. That thread is bonkers.
Honestly, who really thinks that developers will take advantage of a hard drive that in all likelyhood only a small percentage of the user-base will own?
I have confidence that Sony will get it wrong again. The Vita shows that they want their niche market of people who are willing to pay a lot for good hardware.lol @ reading those threads.

I find it kinda sad everyone was expecting the PS3 to be $300.
Mario I don't get
Some of the NintendoLand games wouldn't work with the pro controller
Like Zelda I think since uses the same sword controls as Skyward Sword.
Now that I think about it, it's funny how Sony tried to copy the Wiimote on the last minute by implementing motion controls on the controller, do their games even support that now? I'm fully expecting a controller with a screen for PS4 now.
- Sony E3 2006.It's a great innovation
If there was no blu ray drive, could it have been $300, or more around $400?I find it kinda sad everyone was expecting the PS3 to be $300.

I'll be honest, I wasn't on Gaf at the time, obviously, but I was amongst that crowd. I remember it clearly... "Microsoft wants you to spend $400 to get a non-gimped console? Da fuck! Man, glad Sony wouldn't do anything that stupid...."
Was one of the reasons I only got a PS3 a couple years after launch, went pre-owned shopping till I could find a BC unit... that sadly died less than a year later.

Alright, thanks. From what i have read PS3 cost around $900 to manufacture at launch, $300 of it was the Blu Ray drive and the Cell CPU alone, without the BR drive it would have been closer to $500 at launch imo, Cell was very expensive to manufacture esp in 2006.
do u guys remember ps3's ebay prices? i strictly remember one guy asking $250,000 for a 60gb ps3. he's reason for the steep price was to bring up his daughter, iirc.
compare to that, wii's price was so low, it felt bad,

Folklore is the only decent game I ever played that had even halfway decent Sixaxis controls.

Simply put, Sony would never have sold the PS3 without blu-ray... in fact, it was probably the SMARTEST move that generation to do so... I don't think it's unfair to say that the blu-ray format largely depended on the PS3 initially.
As I said, the basic of basic BR players at the time of the PS3 launch were the same price or higher than the basic model PS3... It made sense if you were even thinking about being a BR adapter that early on to get the PS3, and likewise if you were already planning on getting a PS3 it made a lot of sense to invest in BR movies versus HD DVDs which sold for about the same price but didn't have a system to play games on to back it up.
Meelow could you please link me to the Nintendo conference of that year? I can't seem to find it.
lol "Fuck the Wii." Did you make him mad or something?I have this "nice" memory of the PS3 and the sixaxis.
A friend and I were over this dude's house who owned a launch PS3. He let both of us play Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction. So it was cool and all but then it got to this part where Ratchet is falling from the sky and you have to avoid obstacles along the way using the motion controls.
After that was done, he remarked "And that's how you do motion controls. Fuck the Wii." I didn't pay it any mind though. I never encountered another game that used the motion controls on the PS3 controller ever again except PixelJunk Eden a couple years later. That shit was pretty damn fun.
Fuck I knew I forgot a game that used sixaxis. Folklore was a truly underrated game. Honestly, Sony's fucked up big time this gen but this game.... this game almost redeems them.
God damn Nintendo dragging their feet with eShop/online. Ugh! I so badly wanted this on Wii U.
