Are you serious? Trying to build shit in Forge is like trying to play with Legos but you can only use your ballsack to assemble the pieces.

Im just asking how would M/K work with something like this.
Ive never done something similar on a computer
take a chill pill

You can walk into a MS store and do a Bing challenge and get $25 credit.
I don't have a store near me. Anyone want to walk in and Bing, then pick up a War Games Season pass for free? Some people can do it multiple times too. And if someone could hook me up..or the community

Ends on the 25th. Anyone near a location and wants to hook up the community?

It's fair to say that keyboard and mouse is the industry standard in literally every design field (or those + a drawing/drafting tablet like a Wacom). It would lend a level of precision to forge that you just can't get with controllers.

At that point you might as well let people use the actual dev tools on their computer with the KBAM and upload maps via XNA.

I dont think theres anything wrong with a controller for forge

forge is the problem, in reach almost every piece has improper axis', angle snaps, etc

Im praying to whatever god will help that they fixed that kinda stuff

its great that they reskinned the pieces and everything

but the amount of inconsistency in the reach forge pieces is damn near unbelievable.

Are you typing with a controller?

getting ready for work, very segmented ideas, not paying attention to format, not sure what your getting at either.

edit:
dont care, going to work, forge is fine the way it is
no reason coming up with never-going-to-happen scenarios like pc dev tools

Also, what's with Guilty Spark saying, "You ARE Forerunner" to MC in Halo 3? Was that ever explained?

There was nothing to be explained after that statement until 343 started retconning everything. Reclaimer is a title, Forerunner is a species, but it wasn't until recently that that species was different from humanity. Bungie employee Evill Otto summed it up on HBO pretty succinctly:

One of the most striking retcons to me is the basic concept of whole role of humanity. Originally (back in Halo 1) the reason why humans weren't conquered and incorporated into the Covenant collective was because their presence defied Covenant religion. When the Covenant discovered humans, they knew they were forerunners, but their presence implied the "great journey" failed. They also weren't the all powerful gods they worshiped, so the Prophets wanted to "sweep them under the carpet," as it were.

The plot lines in our games imply this everywhere - the chief being called reclaimer, only humans being able to retrieve and insert the index, Spark telling the chief, "you are forerunner." etc.

I just finished reading Cryptum this morning. In it I discovered that the forerunner are now an entirely different caste-based species with Humans as a beaten, but allied race. At this point, I just follow Cody's lead, shrug my shoulders and say, "eh. it was a good read anyway. I'll buy book 2."

Because FUCK CONTINUITY.

A keyboard could pump out segmented ideas with proper formatting and punctuation without much work or time consumption.

A controller, on the other hand...

I'm just kidding around. Don't take anything I say seriously. :p

Eh, I've always believed them to be separate in a way. Even in the Halo 3 terminals, the librarian (or didact) believe that humans are somehow connected to them. There was a line like "Studying them is important to understanding ourselves" Either way, what was clear was that humanity and forerunners at the time of the firing of the Halo's, were seperate species. But the forerunners needed someone to inherit the mantle, so they gave that responsibility to the humans, and thus gave them the sole ability to interface with forerunner technology.

I wish I forged more often. Forge is the only time I've wanted keyboard and mouse support in Halo.

I highly recommend learning sketchup. I've been on sketchup daily, working on the next iteration of the map that I've been working on for a couple months now in preparation for Halo 4. It is great for getting all of the exact measurements you want then using it as a reference for forge. HIGHLY recommend.

But really, don't actually waste your time with the Paypaling. Constant reminding and ridiculing is all I need.

Evil Otto pretty much sums up my thoughts. The things that bug the hell out of me and piss me off are the big retcons. Small ones never bothered me much. The bigs ones though are why I hate when other people take over someone else's universe. It's not theirs to screw with and retcon in my opinion. That said I will also say however that even with that opinion if the story is good and the gameplay is good then I'll play the game and even futures ones. Same with the books. If the story is good and it's an interesting story then I'll read it. I just won't personally consider them canon.

I also won't hate on anyone making the games either. I realize that these are people who have their own views and opinion on lore and canon. Also they're just people trying to make a living. So I won't hate on anyone making the game.

You're remembering the terminals wrong. They were indexing everybody, including themselves, for post array activation planetary reseeding. The only thing being studied was the flood. Find a wiki if you're not sure. Even back in HBOs early years people were already theorizing that F=H. People saw the clues.

Yeah noticed that lol, was playing Borderlands 2 and watching your stream, the delay from getting online till my name popped up at your stream was really long haha

But it ran pretty smoothly, what capture card do you use?

The Roxio Game Capture HD Pro.

It's pretty handy. The software that comes with it allows you to stream directly to Twitch pretty easily (other capture devices may, I don't know). It doesn't hurt that when my brother and I bought it, there were a bunch of coupons going around that nearly halved the price.

Eh, but Bungie's story in Reach could easily have been reworked to fit the canon... but it just ...didn't. Ignoring the novels was pretty arrogant or lazy.

Always figured that and it makes perfect sense because ever since Halo Legends (343's first major production, no?), people thought the Halo rings killed everything but the Flood, however in Origins we clearly saw otherwise. And how do people still not know those stories are canon except for Odd One Out? lol

I dunno why, but I prefer the Forerunners and Humans being separate. Seems... better.

In the end though, I think it was for the best too.

I never accepted the idea the humans and the Forerunners were the same, i always assumed the Gulty Spark only claimed that directly because he was rampant.
I never got the feeling from the terminals that F=H... and then there was this comic related to IRIS ARG, where a pre-historic human watches Foreunner robots to build the Portal, that automatically made impossible, in my mind, for the humans and the Forerunners to be the same.

Oh this sounds pretty rad, and the price is totally reasonable. I think I will bite and try it too.
I just have to get my new internet provider, my current upload speed is shit. (no speedtest pics lol)

Because Bungie NEVER retconned Halo at all... Right

If you get it, make sure to manually get updates as soon as it's installed. I figured when I installed the software it'd do it, but nope. Also, if your stream is choppy, you can change which Twitch server to upload to. We had a lot of issues at first, but once we found the right server, the stream was smooth
