The Encyclopedia Bombastica Thread - Giant Bomb Does Every Game Ever

The first Game Boy game I bought with my own money, and the first Genesis game I bought with my own money. I'm liking this feature a lot so far, I hope it continues.

What was the name of that game Jeff found sealed in a box and is supposedly worth $10,000+ ?

If they start really cranking these out? OH god so awesome.

As someone who didn't really get into gaming until the dreamcast alot of this stuff will be super new to me.

Another thread? Oh no.

I had never heard of Target Earth before, but it looks pretty cool. The crazy lightning attack of that one robot was enough to seal my interest in the game, hahaha.

I am finally starting to come around and think we need one giant thread for the bombcast as well.

on topic, I still think they need a brief video produced introduction, something simple like the quicklook introduction would be fine.

If we're talking old Game Boy games, then Jeff needs to get on Nintendo's best lost game: SOLAR STRIKER, a generic ass vertical shmup that was hard as fuck. Best first level music.

Hopefully Jeff can find a way to do this in actual work hours and not spend his weekend doing more work. Then we can get some input from other guys at GB too.

They should determine a Retro Hour a week or something, like what they did with the Game Room hour every week, and just play games till that time is done. "Here's today bag of games we'll go through"

I suspect the reason he does this on the weekends is because that's literally what he does on weekends anyway.

For those wondering about Magical Chase, don't know if it's really worth $10,000 but I found a complete package (not sealed) that sold on ebay for $3,200. So it should go for a good chunk of change for sure.

So I guess someone should make a checklist or something. Quick looking every game ever shouldn't take toooooooo long. You know, as long as they ignore ports and stuff...

THE RAID

I am actually super surprised so far at both games Jeff has done so far. They both look rather interesting, and I never heard of either of them. This is close to becoming one of my favorite video features on GB.

$10k is probably some mint sealed box that got graded or whatever. Still, thousands of dollars sitting in a box somewhere is always a nice find.

Fuck yeah, that'd be pretty awesome to find. He said he had some other sealed games also. But yeah, the way he was talking on the Bombcast, he's going to send it off to have it graded and put in one of those protective cases. The $10,000 was his random guess. Don't know if he put any actual research into it or pulled that number out of his ass. I couldn't find shit on the value of a sealed copy, only found complete in box but open.

Lol I love Target Earth. I just assumed nobody knew about it since, well, no one I know ever heard of it. They were like, it's a shitty Cybernator. I had to look it up to find out Target Earth is a sequel of sorts to Cybernator.

One of my favorite Genesis game.

I'll be watching anything that's posted, but I hope stuff shows up like Revenge of the Gator and old TI or C64 games. Law of the West!
