Wait, the Youtube Trailer of GTA V has over 25 million views after almost exactly a year. Damn this will make a lot of $$$.

I don't mind posting this in every thread until it happens: The next trailer will be before the preview on GI,I mean the next week.

I predict you're gonna be really disappointed next week. Geoff Keighley wasn't at Rockstar to say "Hi" and most of the games revealed on GI's cover don't have have gameplay released for a while after. The history and evidence are stacked against you and anyone who's hoping for a trailer before the VGAs.

I'll wait to see if they removed the annoying ass phone calls, simulating a pseudo social life for the protagonist. I just want to go on rampages damnit!

There was nothing stopping your rampaging in GTA4. A reduction in social life isn't the answer I think, just don't make your friends call you up, or at the very least, don't make them pissy with you if you ignore them.

The episodes toned down the phone stuff. And left it up to the player to call people if they so wished with some exceptions. Which I think was a better way to do things.

But you could just stop your phone receiving calls if you wanted to go and rampage.

People will go nuts and bananas over GTAV.

not the first thought that came to mind, this was -

"Fruit Bowl - When a male sticks his genitalia between his legs, so that his ass and his genitalia form a fruit-bowl-esque picture."

Very true. I had heard the episodes were much better, I never played them though :( I know it wasn't a big deal to turn people down, it just got kind of annoying to keep doing it haha.

The whole social aspect is definitely something that needed to be looked at. Having your friends bug you to play a selection of very crappy mini-games for the umpteenth time or risk having them not like you as much clearly was not the answer.

Well, if you wanna be high-minded about it, perhaps it was a commentary on how people are fickle and they suck.

Also, game journo on twitter pointed out the cop in the leaked art looks a LOT like Michelle Rodriguez (had the same thought) and the girl being arrested resembles Lindsay Lohan.

That's obviously the intent. But people play games to escape the banality of real life, simulating the tedious aspects of life is just going to irritate people. And at least with real life, those things have actual pay offs, it's fun to go and get a meal, or get drunk, or have sex, it's not fun to watch game characters do those things.

The last thing anyone wants is to see some Big American' Titties within the limitations of a game.

FYI, all games are made on PC's.

Don't be daft. I'm not a moron. But when you release pc screens/trailers for a game without a pc release you are misleading your customers. It's a far too common practice. I've also seen way too many PC shots masquerading as console builds this generation but that's a different gripe.

They just should have made the things you can do with your friends more fun. You weren't really blowing off your friends, you were blowing off those damn mini-games.

Will buy for PC. Will borrow for console.

Not sure about 360 vs PS3 tho... good thing I'm not paying a penny for either.

Oh, I wasn't defending it, but you explained the issue well. Games often do things like this that are interesting and the word from developers is "Not everything needs to be fun", but the issue is these things are often irritating.

R* are one of the few devs who don't go in for extreme bullshots.

I mean some of the pics they've released for GTAV haven't looked the best but I know in motion it will look nice.

I only have a PS3, so that will be my version.

I just hope they don't do an awful version for PS3, has they did with RDR and GTA 4.

what about The Sims though
I guess it depends on how you approach the game. I don't think many people went into GTA4 with the express intent of making sure their character had a healthy social life. Maybe they want helicopter taxis, or car and weapons on demand, but those things are the rewords for essentially work, and GTA4 was very easy, so those extras weren't really ever required. The Sims is only about the banality of life, placed neatly within a time compressed diorama, and that has it's draws, but if between Sims days, you were forced to do half hour combat scenarios, people would be as pissed as they were with GTA4's social stuff.

I think Rockstar want to be all things to all people, and that's admirable, but not achievable. I'm sure there are people who loved the social stuff in GTA4, they probably dated every available person, watched Cat Williams fumble through ten minutes of stand up fifteen times, but if more people were irritated than benefited from that, it had a negative impact on the game's design. It could have all been optional, they have the budget and resources to build masses of content most people will never bother with. The phone calls felt like they were demanding the player to pay attention to just how lavish they'd decided to take the game, and most people seemed not to like that.

I don't dislike GTA4, I loved it in fact, I think it's one of the best games of the generation, certainly hugely better than SR:3rd, but it took some really poor missteps. Personally, I imagine this issue is nonexistent in GTA5, they must know what people thought about that stuff, and would have reacted in some way. Maybe even make the social stuff involve your online friends this time, don't take your date to play pool, go with your online bros, quick game of tennis between bouts of carnage sounds like something I'd personally love.

Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?

All GTA 5 screens released so far are native 720p rendered, similarly all RDR screens released before the game's release were real time from the 360 version as well.

R* doesn't do bullshots, they don't need to.

Granted I'm looking at it on an iPhone, but I'd say that looks like the crappiest screen I've seen from the game. The original release trailer looked too Ambitious for a ps3 build, for example
