Best Buy price matched the sale and I grabbed God of War: Origins Collection for ten smackers. All five Gamestops in my county were sold out but Best Buy sold me the game on sale anyway. This is how biddness is done.

Wow, you got Best Buy to price match? I didn't think they would because it requires a membership (albeit only a free one).

It works in store. I just showed them the deal on my phone and they honored it.

The fact the site specifies in-store discounts is what makes it something they should honor. It's not price matching if the site specifically states a retail store deal.

Doesn't mean that it REALLY works though. It means that the associate was kind enough to manually discount the product from what you showed them. There's plenty of examples of people trying this over on CAG and were unsuccessful due to snobby employees. I'd say YMMV on getting this to work in-store just to be safe, until it's an actual promotion in the computers that applies without manual discounts.

Just got back from GS. Had their site open to the KZ Trilogy page on my phone and showed the guy when it rang up regular price. He verified it on his phone. He then looked something up on the computer and asked if i had a coupon. I of course don't and pointed out it says nothing about a coupon on their site. He agreed and read me what it said on his computer screen, which was very vague. He then called CS and after about 10 minutes was told the deal doesn't start until the 5th. He argued it's on the site now and says nothing about the 5th (or a coupon). The CS agent's response was that Joystiq leaked the info online, early. He's baffled as to how Joystiq updated their website and gives me the 50% off manually. What a mess GS!!

Yeah it sounds like GS customer support is just bullshitting about someone being punished for leaking it to give a reason to customers.

Word also seems to be coming in that they are now telling people the deal won't be active until the 5th? Maybe I'll just wait until then.

I first asked if Best Buy honored Gamestop at all and the employee told me, "You bet!" I explained the sale and after his manager okay'd the price match, he called the store. They had him on hold for over five minutes only to tell him they were out of stock. He said as long as they carried the game and they were conducting a sale, he'd be happy to honor the sale price. They matched Wal-mart's online store in the past and told me they were willing to match Amazon.

Your mileage may vary. Best bet is to go in-store, pull up the product page for the game on Gamestop.com on your phone, show them the deal, and see what they can do for you.

If all else fails, actually order it online and do pickup@store, again showing them the deal/description on the website.

Potentially dumb question, sorry. If I already own the GoW Collection (with GoW1&2 remastered) and standalone GoW3, those 3 games are the ones used in GoW Saga, correct? If so, I'd rather just buy Origins for $20 instead of digital copies of the Origins games in Saga for the same price.

A guy on CAG randomly guess and found that SONY50 will let you get half off on the collections, but it only works on 1 game at a time. Use SAVER for free shipping (games over $25). I just picked on the Ratchet & Clank Collection via their website for $17.09 after tax. I'm now torn between getting the Jak & Daxter collection @ newegg or trying to show the site to a gamestop employee tomorrow.

SONY50 works, but too bad that ICO/SOTC can't ship to the store nor get free shipping with the SAVER code.

yeah, I got charged tax on $29.99 instead of $14.99 for R&C.

It's worth it for me not to have to step into Gamestop though.

Ratchet + God Of War for 37.

I was gonna run to GS after work but it seems yall are saying they removed the deal from the website?? Can I still get this with the free PowerUp Card?

No luck with my GS. They checked the site to confirm but were too scared to manually override without a manager there.

Told me to come back tomorrow and now it's been removed from the site. Sigh.

Just tried to get R&C Collection on the website with the SONY50 coupon and it said that code doesn't apply to that game. Goddamnit.
