Played one Flood game so far..

Why are the humans allowed to kill each other? They don't even get points for that do they?

EDIT: Maybe it was just a glitch.. since next game.. it's fine

Also, I'm not sure about Infinity BTB... I don't think the Global/Personal Ordinance system works very well for this mode with all the vehicles..

Oh man, I just broke the campaign.

On the level where you're on the Mammoth and have to destroy the three generators. If you use the jetpack, fly on top of the rocks that block the way into the next area (where the second AA thingy is) and try to proceed, the game gets stuck in a "Loading..." phase, and the framerate drops to like 5. Eventually it freezes.

Plus in my explorations, I've noticed that there are quite a few areas in campaign where it looks clear to go, but as soon as you get close you die instantly. No warning or anything... Can be frustrating when you've just spent 15 minutes on a section on Legendary and have to do it all again.

thats so lame.

Camo + Dominion = Hilarity.

Yup had a funny moment in Dominion with camo last night. I gotta remember to cap some stuff.

Had quite a bit of fun while partied up tonight. Gotta start the campaign and spartan ops sometime though.
Hate to see how much fun people are having, knowing i can't play until late Friday night at the soonest. I worked 8pm-8am yesterday and had an hour and a half meeting right afterward. Went home, didn't get to sleep till 11am. Woke up at 6:30pm and had just enough time to take a shower and run to the store to get some food for my 8pm-8am shift tonight. Some day Burglekut!! Some day!

The lag is seriously disappointing and bumming me out on my H4 experience.

Ruined mine last night. Called it a night after 90 minutes...I NEVER do that with Halo, especially with a brand new Halo. Went and played Diablo 3 cause shit wasn't making any sense...people were warp strafing the shit out of me.

holy shit the terminals explain alot. why werent these explanations in the game??

I guess 343 felt the stuff there wasn't approachable enough for the average player. Its ironic since them being a side thing only made the core story more confusing than it needed to be.

That was enough for the night (specially considering it's 4 AM in Spain). Played in Haven like 20 times, still love it. Also, first time I play with a gaffer (BlueScrote, good games!). And I think another one added me, but I'm not sure.

When I respawned in co-op campaign with an AR and plasma pistol, I was able to swap the AR for another plasma pistol. Dual wielding is back!!1

e: ^ thx bro

Need help in regards to campaign on Legendary.

I'm up to the part where the Mammoth gets disabled by the Covenant ship. I've killed 4 Wraiths and at least 12 ghosts and yet nothing is happening. I went to the top of the hill underneath the Covenant ship and nothing happens there either.

Am I missing something? This is starting to piss me off. There's only so many vehicles you can destroy with an AR hiding in some rocks.

There should be an energy shaft on the hill connecting to the ship that takes you into it to blow it up.

What's the link to where we can enter the codes?

What does that even mean?

Yeah, it's not there for some reason. Enemies just keep on spawning. Eh, guess I'll have to restart.

I believe you need to complete some of the Spartan Ops missions in order to unlock those. The first two or three, I think.

You have to play through the SpOps episodes that we already have. Chapter 1 lets you get the torso I think, 2 gets you the shoulders, 3 gets you the helmet. The helmet code also unlocks the emblem.

Ellis said they were just slow/late getting them done.

Yea I know.

I can't go into detail because I don't want to spoil, but that info should have been in the game. As someone who hasn't read the books the terminal info REALLY helped explain a lot.

So played my first multiplayer game after I finished up this episode of Spartan Ops. I have to say the gunplay itself is fun as hell. However I do think Devo hit it on the head. It really does feel more like COD then Halo. I'll have to play some more this weekend before I fully judge it.

Finally got to play the first three missions and some multiplayer. It's definitely decent, I'm still waiting to wrap my head around the plot.

I just wish they'd kept the old stuff... the same. They placed it four years in the future, I would certainly give them free reign to gladly design anything new, it just annoys me that the Warthogs suddenly have railings and sound like RC cars and the UNSC emblems have magically updated along with the armor... :(

Something I've noticed while playing Dominion and CTF, is the clarity of combat isn't as good as previous games. I've had a much harder time telling what is going on.

Cheers guys. I've only done the first mission on Legendary. Will do the others tonight :)

First time playing I had no idea what was going on in Dominion. Kinda got the hang of it now... I know 343i were trying to make things as clear as possible for new players, but what they've done is gone so far that the HUD is a clusterfuck of things that aren't relevant - which makes it harder to know what's going on.

...

and where is the Extraction playlist? I'm curious about that gametype.

Had some good games with FUBAR earlier. Don't know why our party got split up but I think I'm done for the night always.

Thanks!

Yeah man it was fun, we'll have to play again some time.

Somehow I got in a match against NCSUduncan and Heckfu, among others. That was a bit of fun.

EDIT:

Anyone know how to get the UNSC Bird emblem?

And hmm, I guess it doesn't say. Sorry man :(

I think base play is for the most part is solid but there is so much stuff on top of it that makes it even more random than Reach. You don't know what AA people have, what ordinances they happened to get, what tactical package they're utilizing or their support upgrade.

Your complaints aren't harsh enough. Come back later.
:)

-Get rid of global ordnance. Bring back the old timed static weapon system or at least some sort of system that is predictable. Duncan suggested a 2d map like GoW3 or in-game indicators that show when and where weapons will drop.

-Get rid of JIP (matched into games where one team is about to win and there are games where it is 3v5 for the whole match).

-Get rid of jetpack (still ruins map flow)

-Get rid of being able to shoot grenades. I don't mind being able to shoot the sticky detonator once it is planted though.

-Bring back death markers.

-Simplify the UI, it is convoluted.

-Make the party system easier to maintain.

-No Slayer or Objective gametypes on Abandon.

These are the most jarring aspects of multiplayer so far.

I would really like to see ordnance selection become dynamic (ie taking into account what other people have/what vehicles are being used/what you've had previously.

Yup. That's I think the most annoying thing besides the AAs that we all hated which still suck. Example being the stupid ass Jetpack. That just ruins the map flow completely. I hated it in Reach and hate it just as much now.

Juices brought up something while streaming last night that I agree with for the most part. In Reach, the feedback while in combat was really good. You could see shields pop with ease. In 4, you can't tell when you need to get that last shot off or when you yourself are about to die nearly as easily.

It's dynamic.

It really is bizarre that the basic mechanical stuff looks okay but then someone decided to layer random weapon drops and grinding for choices and wallhack with a cooldown and whatever other nonsense is present onto it, instead of like, good mechanics
