I wish the Wiimote worked with Netflix. It's the best and laziest way to enjoy the service. It's hard to dig into my couch with a big ol Wiipad.
At least you can use Netflix. The fucked up gamma levels are unbearable for me.
?? Is that because of the HDMi limited thing? Or the netflix app ?

Has anyone noticed that the first Ninja Gaiden DLC was not on the eShop but was just an Update for the software? I guess an update that adds content is DLC but Nintendo calls that Spotpass

I've picked up these two as well. Needless to say, I HIGHLY recommend you get them both.
I had the Wii up until the release of SMG1 and LOVED that game. Sold the console shortly after, and have always wanted to play SMG2 and Skyward Sword.
Between Nintendo Land, NSMBU, Zelda and SMG2, I'm kind of in Nintendo heaven at the moment

It was the same thing for DoA Dimensions on the 3DS. All free DLC was unlocked through Spotpass.
As for hard locks, has anyone been getting them with Mighty Switch Force? It's been pretty much 100% reproducible on my end by going into the Home menu when the game is loaded and leaving the Home menu back into the game. UK version btw.

I bought Skyward Sword, Xenosaga and The Last Story so I'd say so. They upscale nicely too so it's almost on par with what launch model PS3s could accomplish. Next up Super Mario Galaxy and Sakura Wars but Ill probably just end up playing Twilight Princess again: never understood the GAF hate for that one.

The most amazing thing about this launch is how much money Smiles and Cries would have spent to get all these games digital. And the fact they're all games he seems not to have played, many quite good, must make for one hell of a new system. Like, Christmas: The System.
I think he has about $50 worth of eshop vouchers from the digital promotion, so thats at least $500 spent on the eshop..

you only need Xenoblade now and you're basically going to play distilled sex on a gaming platform

Well my PAL WiiU sends a 720p signal to the TV while in Wii mode like the NTSC models. Of course the games are still 480p.
What? I didn't receive it (at least yet), just checked.
I know<3, I was kind of involved in Xseed bringing it here, is just that I had lost my original copy.

You can't be serious. I actually bought CoDBLOPS2 yesterday (and I don't know why I did, maybe out of curiosity) and the first few hours in single player were nothing special at all.
Multiplayer on the other hand was pretty damn fun.
It does upscale Wii games. It doesn'T uprez them, meaning you basically still have that 480p resolution stretched to 1080p.

I probably would have at least looked at the app if it was because I thoroughly explored the features on the wiiU when I got it.
All I know is my wiiU just finished osme update and it wasnt there earlier today.

Yeah this kinda got out of hand fast, but I was a kid with an NES in 1988 and ended up with a collection of over 80 carts because my god-sister had a discount at a local toy shop.
It's not easy being a one console owner. Mind you I've had some serious vision issues that put a damper on my gaming hobby for a decade now, so I was never in a hurry to jump into core games. Even with my enjoying Nintendo stuff, I never got Mario Galaxy 2 that is how bad things got. My 3DS, Macbook, and Xenoblade had been my most enjoyable gaming in recent years until now.
I did have enough time and some art projects coming in to put some savings away for Wii U but even I did not expect that I would have spent this much money. And yes everything is a new experience, aged series are fresh and brand new experiences. eShop is like living in a candy store with 30 cakes to choose from got to taste them all
Still I am giving 2-6 hours to each game per day I need this haul to last me through the Wii U drought of 2013.
I'll keep at it as long as there is something good to download. I adopted a no disc policy from now on to save me money. (or not saving as it seems)
not really the hardware is kinda forgettable once you have that gamepad in your hands

By transfering wii contents to wiiu, do all the homebrew stuffs get removed from the wii?
Given I have really few wiiware games, I question the utility of the transfert, if it's removed, is it easy to install everything again? Wouldn't want to loose region free for gc games...

never had a wii, i assume all wii games can be played on this? any must have games i should check out? not a huge zelda fan.
can the pro controller be played with most games? someone made a comment if your an xbox gamer this is the controller for u and i am die hard xbox fan
It's subtle, though it probably will vary from TV to TV. It seems to look a little more vibrant and sharper to me than if I was playing at 480p/on the Wii, and input lag is likely reduced. Maybe someone will run some hard tests there? But like said it probably varies from TV to TV, meaning those with really good upscalers in the first place probably will be showing an even more insignificant difference.
Always, always check Gamestop first. Xenoblade was an exclusive to them and Nintendo's online store, so it's generally going to be more expensive from other sources (probably those banking on the fact people don't assume it's a retailer exclusive and thus it seems more valuable than it actually is... though it's still pretty expensive for a game whose NA version is about 8 months old).
