What is Berserk and is it worth checking out?
Berserk is a Dark Fantasy Manga about the life of a man. Saying anything else is spoilers
It's worth reading for the art alone.

Dark Souls does borrow very heavily from real-life European architecture in some places, though. That is maybe a more valid criticism.
Well, I personally think that referencing awesome, real-life medieval architecture is the opposite of a criticisable act, but to each their own.
Moar.

I actually love the idea of being inspired by (and even closely replicating) interesting real-life locations. Unsurprisingly, you usually end up with levels that feel much more real that way, as opposed to just letting artists/level designers go wild (of course that also has its place).I don't really care, but it's a lot more than referencing, and I can see how people might have a problem with straight up replicating shit.
What do you mean suffered. It was the whole point. The last enemy wasn't supposed to be the super awesome boss. But show what would eventually happen to you if you choose to betray the maiden in black and serve the old one. And there is nothing wrong with that.MAKE A GOOD ENDING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Both Demon's and Dark end horribly. It makes all the hard work feel pointless to me. Demon's also suffered from a joke of a final boss,
Right. LotR certainly wasn't the first place I saw mention of a hobbit, so I'm sure things were inspired by Berzerk to that extent. It's just kind of silly to say that From "stole" that content from Berzerk, when the examples provided obviously didn't originate from Berzerk either.

lost izalith to me is very clearly based on angkor wat (or similar temple ruins of southeastern asia).I don't really care, but it's a lot more than referencing, and I can see how people might have a problem with straight up replicating shit.
Lost Izalith was also based on a real-life location but I don't have the picture on hand. I'm sure that lots of other areas were directly influenced by real places as well.

Really? I totally see it.I don't really see that to be honest,
and just an FYI, only the biggest temple there is Angkor Wat (the first one you posted), the whole area with all the other temples is simply called Angkor, I forget what the second temple you posted is called
Guess who?
There's also some concept art of a Darkwraith on a horse that's pretty similar to the Skull knight
Wow, it's pretty much a carbon copy. It would be freaky as hell to walk around in there.
Well, clearly a lot of imagery from Berserk is inspired by the middle ages.

The stairs from Lost Fragment's post are scarily similar.

the way the trees are overgrown/ingrown through the bricks...watch after he climbs the branch ramp up and look at the spires there. it's very close.
That tune that plays when you first see Anor Londo, the BAUM BAUM, just played in my head when I saw the first picture.Right. I assure you, Blighttown and the lava pit in Lost Izalith are completely their own creations. These pics are freaking me out. I mean obviously they didn't make it up on their own but I had no idea how direct they were in replicating it.

Whoah. I think this is all really cool. All the manga references are great too, I've never heard of Berzerk, so it's all fresh to me. Fascinating.
This one i didn't even think existed in real life.

It actually used to be great; one of the best popular manga around, in fact. What is Berserk and is it worth checking out?
I felt following tradition he'll be a knight. The main character in the trailer. Which class do you think he his? So far it has only been "knights" as the cover guy, but this one look more like a warrior type.

It started becoming worse and worse over time and now it's almost unrecognizable (and simply bad).
Ok. But I would. It's certainly more mainstream now, but I would not say it's bad or unrecognizable.
I wonder if there are security guards where all the silver knights are.
Far Cry 3 has some of these Temple ruins that are similar to Angkor and others in the larger ASEAN region.

I think after Dark Souls I'd be somewhat afraid to walk around either place.Right.
