Is there any way to view photos on the U? Via SD card? I tried Wii mode then downloading the photo channel but it wasn't listed...?

Don't think so.

You can install wads now if you install the homebrew channel and use a certain IOS. Could easily get hold of the Photo Channel using that method from another Wii or whatever. Could also use a homebrew app.

Other than that, nope.

there was a US eShop Holiday Sale rumored for closer to Xmas, the source was on of the indie devs who has a game on there, hopefully Batman can come with a discount

I don't think the complaints against Batman are blown out of proportion, so much as relative to each users expectation. It looks and performs noticeably worse than the 360/PS3 versions and that sucks. It has technical problems, and that's lame from a consumer point of view, that the port wasn't on par, as I'm sure most people wanted it to be.

If you're sensitive to that kind of thing then yeah, the port warrants a lot of criticism. But if you're not fussed then you've still got a good game to look forward to.

I think it also depends whether each person already saw/played one of the other versions or not.
If not then they most certainly won't even notice that it performs not as good as the PS360 versions.

PC of course is another class entirely. I enjoy Arkham City in 1080p with 60fps and full details and all that voodoo magic, although I still get the occasional hiccup or two. It happens and I don't mind at all.
If I had only played the Wii U version I would be fine with that, I guess.

Why did I buy this pos...

You're doing well, keep going!

I'm down on it because I wanted more at launch. I love NSMBU, but it's not a long game. There's not even much in the eshop right now. The first time I pop a HD Mario Galaxy type 3d game in this will be great.

How does NSMBU compare to the previous Wii version? Is it the same amount of content (9 worlds?).

I tried the Wii U yesterday for the first time and was quite impressed with it. I plan to get it sometime next year. My wife will flip out because she feels that we don't need another electronic device in the house.

Best game in the new series. Also the one that caters to core gamers best, thanks to challenge mode

Why did I buy this pos...

Because, as you know, we ordered you to. If I recall Mr. Ced, our agreement was that there would be no complaints and you'd only post positive things about the Wii U. Since you clearly failed to abide by our terms I'm afraid we will not be releasing your family for sometime. On the bright side you may contact them on WiUChat later tonight. Enjoy the Wii U Mr. Ced.

I just disagree with this. Sure, there are some technical issues, but that does not stop the game from being fun and most people won't notice the difference. I played the 360 version as well and decided to get the Wii U version for all of the DLC (since the 360 version is my roommate's copy) and I don't notice any difference at all. I have yet to see crazy texture load in like the Gametrailers stuff and I wonder if some people who are complaining about this stuff have even played the game to any extent.

It's like they're saying the game is total crap and I just don't see that at all. I'll admit that there were a couple of hiccups with the framerate once I got to the top of the building as Bruce Wayne, but eventually it works itself out the game runs decently well during fights and such.

I would easily recommend the Wii U version of the game as I would any other version because they're not getting a bad game at all.

My Wii U is estimated delivery today from Japan (FedEx (I'm in the UK))

Can't wait for it to arrive! It was tracked about an hour away from my house 8 hours ago though >_<~!

I can't find footage from the hyper version levels in mighty swith force hd.
Since I'm really cautious with trine2 and discovering this added content to msf, do you think it's worth buying it again?
I was impressed by the original game, its tight controls and how time trials revealed the levels quality.

I've bought it again and I'm happy with it. Played the 3DS version afterwards, and I still really appreciate how the 3D makes the levels feel, but it looks gorgeous in HD. It's cool being able to chat about it in Miiverse, take screens of your times and stuff like that. I think the added content was made available as an update in the 3DS eShop, so if you just want those levels you can probably get them there... in Hyper Drive Edition, they don't show up until you've beaten Incident 16.

I hope WayForward do well with it again, the buzz on Miiverse is all positive, and honestly - the game deserves the praise.

Trine 2 looks really good to me, that's definitely going to be my next buy.

It really does depend how sensitive you are to certain issues as said I had no problem with Black Ops 2 and there is no doubt it has issues compare to the others however it never bothered me. Same with Ninja Gaiden it's issues haven't bothered me. I see them here and there but it hasn't caused a negative reaction. However I'm a person that is still enjoying Code of Princess on the 3DS and that has some serious frame rate issues when to many enemies are on the screen. It hasn't been a deal breaker for me. Pop in doesn't bother me either as long as it isn't constant like Rage. That would would bother the hell out of me and is why I didn't buy it in the end even when the price dropped. Though I believe the PC version doesn't have those right?

The only time I've had an issue with a game's frame rate was Infamous when I first got my PS3 because it was so jaring the first time I saw it. In that game if you look toward the city by the water and then turn and look out at the water the frame rate jumps up and down and it's like night and day. After a while it didn't bother me. Thinking back on that I can definitely see how that and other issues can drive some people crazy. It's the first thing I try to remember when frame rate talks start. I guess my tolerance for things like that are just higher. It has to be for The Last Story not to get under my skin and as that game has issues as well.

So perhaps that's it. If you are primarily a Wii gamer (even though you had other platforms) you could be just more tolerant of the imperfections as they've been somewhat the norm. A person going from the Wii Call of Duty games to the Wii U version wouldn't see or even begin to care if it had issues as the performance is so drastically different and better to what one is used to. However as more and more of those type of gamers play Wii U gams a certain level of quality will start to be demanded as it should. It happen on the Wii. Batman maybe be fine now and from what I've seen I don't think it looks any different from Arkham Asylum and that had some issues as well I think when I played it. Come next year I don't think people should be as forgiving once exclusives start appearing from Nintendo and the companies they partner with.

The harder versions of the 15 incidents are available on 3ds?
Since they're called hyper drive versions, I'm thinking it's exclusive to the wiiu game?

About trine I'm hesitant cause last time I had a bad feeling about a game it was gravity rush and when I was able to play it, everything that I felt wrong in videos were indeed here by playing it, combat especially. But I found speedrun for trine2, so it will help me seeing what it has under the hood.

Has everyone noticed hat the Blu-ray Discs have a smooth edge?
I'm always amazed who at Nintendo thinks these things up.
I've also noticed that the drive slips the disc out farther than other drives so that it is easier to grab.
Coming from a wii the performance is mind blowing but I can understand why xbox and ps3 players are not. The new Lego game will knock the socks off my son who is used to batman legoon the wii.

We only know Q1 games. I guess that's most of the year.

Actually, Pikmin 3 is now a vague Q2, which could be June. Toki Tori 2 just got pushed into 2013. Lego City Undercover still has no firm date.

At least we know about those. Maybe nintendo is just holding a bunch of third party stuff a secret until E3 announcements for some reason.

I am surprised that Nintendo are not making the VC on wiiu cloud based.
Surely those low sizes and resolutions would run on the lowest of connections.

I agree, now that their HW is out in the open their only trump card against the two new HD console reveals are their software.

The Digital Foundry link I posted shows it dropping to low 20s during the opening fight, so maybe you're just not sensitive to these things. I'm going to extrapolate and guess that it does this often, since there's no reason for the game to run that poorly in the opening section. I could be wrong, but the framerate in the opening sequence doesn't inspire confidence.

Sure, they might not be getting a bad game, but if there's any other option available I'd recommend that over the Wii U version. They're all cheaper by now, and every other version performs better. I don't think I've seen anybody saying the game is bad. Most people agree Batman is tops blooby. But it's the worst version out there, and whether or not that doesn't affect you is entirely subjective.

Not worst version, worse performing. The other benefits that the Wii U brings to the table make it entirely subjective.

Edit: and yes, i understand whether or not these are actually benefits is another subjective matter

Did you even read my post? I said it was a good game and people will enjoy it if they're not fussed with the technical issues.

And it has technical issues. It's the worst looking and performing version. This is a fact, and all I stated.

Sorry, worst performing. I don't care or know about any Wii U exclusive features.

Is it the worst looking too? Could have sworn that it and the PS3 version were the best (outside the PC of course). I know about the odd texture streaming issue, but I remember a gaffer said that running from the HDD mitigated the problem.

Ah well whatevs

Edited for grammar and structure

Edit: http://m.neogaf.com/showpost.php?p=44809810

That's the post I remember. Looks like PS3 and Wii U have a very minor leg up with some effects and texture filtering.

For some reason I feel like they are not going to do the converting thing. I could be wrong but that would be my guess. Perhaps I underestimate Nintendo, but like you said, the amount of work to convert them all, plus adding the necessary features along with integrating the two eShops to work together with those releases just seems like far too much work. But IFFF by some miracle from the gods they added features to VC games like I've stated above, I would double dip. Or in the case of some games, dip for the 5th time.

They can't just leave that library of classic games called the Virtual Console tucked away in Wii Mode forever. No one will see it and as Nintendo and its fanbase grow increasingly digital, so will the sales of those games. Plus, Iwata said it would happen -- he just didn't clarify when or how.

Double dipping would suck and could sour a lot of people. But Nintendo could use the excuse that technically, they *did* let consumers transfer their content over. That may be why they're waiting until after the Xmas season to announce something. Also, getting all those 3rd parties back on board with updates might be a logistical hassle, too. Not that everything would have to happen at once.

Maybe Nintendo will offer free updates to 1st party stuff and will let the 3rd parties choose how to proceed on their own. Yet another option would be that we'll have to spend a buck or two on each file to upgrade? The actual update should be simple enough. Go into the code, add that (apparently) one line required for gamepad streaming, add a screen ratio toggle that defaults to widescreen, and you'd think the emulators themselves could be ported without much issue since it's similar but stronger hardware (but I don't know).

I'd also like to see some legacy Xbox Live-esque stuff start coming through the eShop. The Super Meat Boys, the Braids, etc. Some ports of retail games that are now on a Nintendo platform when it makes sense. Mass Effect 1 & 2, Ninja Gaiden 1 & 2, Batman Arkham Asylum... In short I really hope they leverage the eShop/VC this January - May when disc releases are bound to be slow.

My point was simply that even with the technical issues, people are blowing the problems out of proportion. Saying the game is "crap" and all that. People are acting as if these things keep it from being a good game. That is simply not true, and the Wii U features may be compelling for some people.

Though, I think the game still looks great.

I've got a Turtle Beach PS3 headset, doesn't seem to work with the Wii U.

I mainly wanted to use the adaptor it comes with to run the audio out to 3.5 mm for my speakers & subwoofer. Just get a buzzing sound :/

It's got that Playstationey black tapered tube thing that you see on controller wires as well, I'm guessing that's what prevents me from using it.

Any recommendations on Wii U optical -> RCA or 3.5 mm audio adaptors?

Considering you have to purchase VC stuff separately on 3DS even if you have the Wii version, I can see them doing the same on Wii U...as irritating as that would be.

Why did I buy this pos...

Same feeling here buddy you are not alone. This console is crock of shit till the Nintendo exclusive games come along.

btw does anyone know if Far Cry 3 or Borderlands 2 are coming over? I will rebuy those games if they are better than ps3/360 ports and work on the tablet screen.
