Nintendo Downloads - December 2012

Something like Mario should always get a worldwide release :(

But then NOA would have to release real amounts of software instead of "saving" Mario for the big dates when they should be putting out niche stuff/Japan-only stuff (like they did on Wii for a bit).

Just a heads up: In the US Store, the Rayman Legends demo is up. There's a demo for Sonic Racing too. Also, the digital version of Batman is available for sale. Noticed these by browsing, I'm not sure the e-Shop has reflected this on the main page yet.

Are there play limits on Wii U demos?

Rayman demo is only 575 MB, nice. Probably the same demo as used in Wii U demo stands right?

Are they on Japan VC?
I'd like to try out Icarus 3S Classic, looks good.
Recca and all the Rockmen games are, the Dragon Quest card game is an all new game although sadly no time to play as of yet. Full list of Virtual Console games (and an idea of what may one day hit the west) is at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Virtual_Console_games_for_Nintendo_3DS_(Japan)

Sadly Kid Icarus is probably the last of Nintendo's 3D Classics as they actually sought to actively improve the graphics rather than just add 3D layers. If you've played previously and enjoyed it then go ahead and buy, I'm not really sure how new players would relate to playing this now for the first time. Perhaps some other posters can help you out there?

And on a side note, it looks like American players get to download Adventure Time this week? Just hope this hits Europe.

THe Murfy bit was indeed quite good. I wouldn't want to do that more than a few times throughout the game, but if used sparingly, it should contribute some fun variety to the levels.

Glad Batman was added. Now to decide between it and Assassin's Creed 3. Leaning more toward Batman but the homestead building keeps pulling me toward AC3. I love stuff like that and Batman from what I understand has none of that. No central hub to go back to and do stuff.

At least a lot of recent 3rd party games are getting digital releases as of late, which is really nice. Wish Nintendo would put up some of their backlog though, I want Mario Tennis digitally.

One more week until WL2...

Rayman demo is very very very nice :D

No general 3DS thread so...

Uh, I was playing Pullblox (an excellent game that can be downloaded at the 3DS eShop and the only way this is relevant at all!!) when I realised that my shoulder buttons have completely died and don't respond at all. R almost always fails and L works only sporadically.

Do you guys have any suggestions? Is there a conclusive way of fixing this? Launch day 3DS so warranty is probably void. =(

Hydroventure is pretty great. I was initially surprised at the lack of 3D effect, but then it just make sense with the gyro controls. Which are not optional, by the way. Works perfectly, and I look forward to tucking into this properly.

Suck and blow into the buttons.

I had the same problem. Try to clean the dust on the buttons. If it continues to not work, send it to Nintendo for repair. It probably won't cost more than 15$.

I think you should ask to Nintendo Customer Assistence.

Crimson Shroud is going to be the first thing I buy with my next paycheck. And Wario Land II will be out by then, so probably that too (maaaan I hope it's the GBC version).

Looking froward to hearing more impressions from you (and other owners). I've always been a believer in the gyro controls for this game.

How does it feel to be constantly turning the 3DS around? I imagine you'll spend some time holding it upside-down. Awkward?

I need help on a purchase decision:

$8 RPG on the VC

$5 game on the Wiiware/VC

Also, did we ever find out where Magic Obelisk went? I wanted that game :( :( :(

Two demos and a game that came out at launch?

smh

Goddamnit Nintendo.
The Wii U's still young, I'm not really expecting that to build steam until the holidays pass.

How the 3DS has been is pretty bad though, it's only actually kind of good now thanks to stuff like Crimson Shroud coming.

A little bit, at first. My problem was that I was hitting the start/select/home buttons. Got used to it pretty quickly. The controls work very nicely indeed. There's a lot of content here too, and the difficulty ramps up sharpish.

Batman has a ton of content, though. The city is packed with side missions and opprtunties to wreak havoc. Disclaimer: I played it in the ps3 earlier this year.

Get VC up or SOMETHING.

The Wii had VC from day one, and if I recall, right at Christmas time they put up A Link To The Past and so everything about it was really exciting.

They have a hundreds of games already emulated forced into Wii Mode, and they aren't even releasing any new ones.

VC made the Wii feel like it had games coming constantly...just...do VC if you have nothing else, Nintendo.

As someone else stated, blow into the buttons. If you pinch the sides of the buttons and lift up a bit, then blow under the button, it may fix it. Worked for my DS Lite.
