Searched, no hits.

Now, with the game due out early next year on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, Kojima Productions has told Eurogamer it would be delighted to work on a sequel - assuming fans take to the first game.

“If people like Metal Gear Rising, if the fans who play this game ask for more, that would be awesome,” producer Yuji Korekado said.

“If people like Metal Gear Rising, if the fans who play this game ask for more, that would be awesome,” producer Yuji Korekado said.

“That would be great for us and we would be happy to consider working on another game in Metal Gear Rising.”

Korekado said Konami will consider creating a PC port once the console versions are out the door. As for the Wii U, unfortunately, “We aren't currently thinking about that,” Korekado said.

Seems they're really happy working on it.

ULTROS!

People seem to like me because I am polite and I am rarely late. I like to eat ice cream and I really enjoy a nice pair of slacks.
I wish Konami gave Castlevania to Platinum.

Best first reply in a century.

I'm not horribly thrilled about the nebulous state of the PC port. I may wait a few weeks to see how it does sales wise, as Konami may announce one fairly quickly if its a success.

Everybody knows that Wii U will get MGS related games when Iwata sends Kojima a Wii U lunchbox with Reggies face inside it

Nightmare fuel.

“This is a game we definitely couldn't have created at Kojima Productions,” Korekado said. “Also, this is a game Platinum Games couldn't have created on their own.

Not so sure about that

Korekado said Konami will consider creating a PC port once the console versions are out the door. As for the Wii U, unfortunately, “We aren't currently thinking about that,” Korekado said.

“One of the strongest appeals of the Wii U is the GamePad. However, we've constructed Metal Gear Rising so you can fully enjoy the game on the controllers whether it's on the PS3 or the Xbox. So, currently we aren't thinking about Metal Gear Rising on the Wii U.”

Yeah, which is why Bayonetta 2 is coming to the system

Great first reply.

I wish they outsource more of their series to good companies, if this works. They have a lot of great series, but only release Metal Gear, 3D Castlevania games and Pro Evolution Soccer :(

I hope they don't want us to petition for a PC port, frankly.
Though if the game delivers, i'd be happy to double dip.

Damn, Wii U constantly getting sidelined.I don't even own the console and i feel bad for it's owners.

Rising is a PS360 game, you can't expect every big multiplatform release to be ported to the WiiU just because. Especially a game that is not guaranteed to do big numbers (even with the MG name on it).

I'll buy the console version at launch, but I'd buy the PC version later on, if it included DLC or any extra content, kinda like Dark Souls: Prepare To Die Edition... except it better be nothing like DS:pTDE

Indeed. While I think Nintendo deserves whatever they get with Wii U, as an owner I'll still complain and get angry about this. Given Kojima's comments it's pretty obvious none of his games nor games that use his engine are ever going to come out for Wii U.

I'd say chances for a Vita-exclusive MGS are significantly higher than the chance of any of the games ever to hit Wii U.

sad but true Nintendo deserves the flak for making this console underpowered but the Wii U as a whole is so damn fun that it feels bad to see it go down like that hoping it finds its legs on some niche level or get support from other sources.

Tired of reading devs saying they are not thinking about Wii U versions.

I'm willing to bet that the Wii U version won't use Fox Engine, if it comes out at all. Kojima totally dodged the question whether his engine would run on Wii U.

It seems we can't expect any good 3rd party game to be ported over. That's still fucking disappointing.

He's commented on the actual engine running on the Wii U? I've only seen him say that if he were to release a Wii U game he'd prefer it to be something designed for the GamePad instead of a port of a game from another console.

We all know that's just a dumb excuse by Kojima et al. Either that or they're actually dumb and overwhelmed by the possibilities. But the GamePad, at its core, is just a normal controller. Just because it has a touch screen doesn't mean they have to come up with some stupid touch gimmicks. Just bolt on off-TV play and be done with it. That's all most people ask for, anyway.

Is bayonetta guaranteed to do big numbers on Wii U? I would say that even if MGR:R isn't traditionally the metal gear people associate with the franchise it still has the name backing it.Anyways this isn't me begging for a port for a console i don't own it's just me trying to figure out why the console isn't getting proper 3rd party support.

True, but that's what you get for buying a console at launch. You can never be sure of anything (remember the people who bought a PS3 just for Final Fantasy XIII?).

I wasn't calling for port begging, just trying to explain what's (probably) happening. ;)
Bayonetta 2 is backed by Nintendo to lure core gamers to their console, it doesn't matter if doesn't sell millions, but 3rd parties can't do the same. Konami probably think it's too risky, but if the game sells well I think we'll see a WiiU version.

So in other words, he'd prefer nothing on Wii U.

The "underpowered" argument doesn't even work when talking about PS360 ports. Not to mention Platinum already has their inhouse tech running on the platform.

Then it doesn't need to be ported on a new and gimmicky system then.

Turn slow motion cutting sequences onto the Gamepad with a Fruit Ninja-like minigame. You're welcome Konami.

PS3 had years to find its legs with nothing bigger coming out to step on it... Wii U has maybe 10-12 months of growth before it gets steamrolled by the big and bad next gen PS4/720 so buying early is not really going to hurt as much if it is totally ignored in 2014

Nintendo needs to scramble and get even the low selling tittles to build a library worth a damn to give it a chance

Hnnnnnnnngh Rising at 120fps do want. Can't wait, honestly. If it ends up being a really good action game I might even double dip on PS3 first, if the wait for PC is way too long.

even when it does not work for these ports there is only about a year of these ports left to consider, so that excuse will be the major element going forward... Nintendo still has to take some blame in helping to foster this attitude so early on by not giving the console a better chance to fight off excuses.

I only care about Wii U in this case here because P* is knee deep in Wii U development making Konami's stance very puzzling.

And Rising is running on Platinum's internal engine as opposed to something supplied by Konami, isn't it?

Not that Platinum has any say in where Konami wants to release the game.

Edit: Plus I think it just comes down to not having the time/staff to port the game at this late stage. Because I'd hate to think someone actually believes the "<insert platform here> is a unique system and if we make a game we want to use it in unique ways" that is trotted out for all sorts of platforms, not just Wii U.

Why won't Platinum port their games to PC :(. They deserve to be played at 60 hertz.

Revengeance PC will probably happen. I'd be surprised if the console version doesn't do just fine considering it has the MGS license attached. It'll probably also be out before most of the other big games in early 2013.

They should still go back and port Bayonetta and Vanquish though. Would make back their money easily.

I wish Konami gave Castlevania to Platinum.

I guess. I kind of feel Platinum's style of character action game could work with almost any license attached to it.

Fans of classic Castlevania who didn't like Lords of Shadow probably wouldn't like a Platinum Castlevania either.

Didn't realise they were thinking of a PC version! Guess i'll wait a few months to see what the chinwag is on that.

Dunno. I think it's becoming more and more obvious every day that most publishers and a lot of developers simply don't give a fuck anymore. Nintendo's choices don't seem to make any difference. If publishers won't even port their current projects, they wouldn't port their next gen games either, no matter how powerful the system is.

I would, but I may be an exception.

I think anyone would be forgiven for being cynical about the possibility of a Rising PC port, as much as I'd love to see it.

Because I can't think of a single major console game of Konami's that got released on PC, and it took a search of Steam to remind me that Homecoming got a PC port.
