I bought H4 at launch because I had the money and wanted to relive that day one Halo fever, even though I knew that I probably wouldn't care much for the game. I played it hard for 4-5 days the first week, but lost interest soon thereafter. I had fun playing the new shiny Halo with friends for the first week, but I shouldn't have bought it. I skipped both ODST and Reach at launch because of how disappointed with H3 I was. I shouldn't have bought H3 either, didn't really like the beta, and hell H2 was a disappointment compared to H1. I got Reach from MS, and enjoyed it a bit, but still haven't played ODST

So many liars in this thread. You will ALL buy the next halo game. Every last one of you.

The only possible way you won't is if you go playstation.

You will lie to yourself and you will let prerelease hype make it into something it isn't. You will give it another shot because you cared enough about 4 to post your disappointment even after Reach let you down.

You will buy it because even as Halo sinks, other games will sink lower. The reality is very few games ever hit the fun factor the halo has hit. And you will chase it.

You are all liars. See you for 5

You guys are too caught up with the whole "voting with your wallet" mentality instead of just worrying about buying things you enjoy.

Unless you straight up don't give a shit about Halo in general, which is odd because the story is still strong and it still remains an incredibly good multiplayer experience despite not meeting the expectations of it's predecessors.

I wish I had the resolve to buy halo 5 used - I will end up buying it day one without a shadow of a doubt though

Looking forward to the halo 5 pre-release stuff - say what you want about the halo 4 marketing - but it was entertaining - nothing will top the barn vid in terms of halo trailers

It really amazes me how fast 343 burnt up all the good will I had towards them. It started with the total mishandling of Reach's DLC and playlists which were redirected to accommodate a remake which they then dropped the bulk of matchmaking support for. Now with Halo 4 I just feel like the game is a complete mess. They straddled this weird line between Call of Duty and Halo and the result is a game which neither group gets that excited about.

It's just such a shame because what I and I think other people had hoped was that 343 would be a suitable replacement for Bungie and we would keep getting great Halo games while Bungie moved on to their next big idea which would be something equally as great.

Now it's all down to Bungie for me and while I am excited and optimistic about this next project I am concerned it might not be worth them leaving Halo for. Here's hoping.

They kind of wrote themselves into a corner on this one by grouping AA choice in with loadouts. There can't be a decision like Bungie made where no new playlists from them were going to have Armor Lock.. they can either force a playlist to globally have the same set of loadouts (completely defeating their CoD-style loadouts system) or just deal with it / nerf an AA into oblivion so that nobody chooses it.

Good point. Unless they patch in a way to limit loadouts, it's going be all or nothing when it comes to loadout customization.

I will not be buying H5 at release, hell I might even wait and buy it used at GS to make sure they get the money. Beta or bust

That's not exactly true. I think the custom game settings for weapons and perks override loadout choices. I was playing a custom game the other day and the host had it set so that everyone's secondary weapon was an AR thus eliminating the Boltshot as a loadout weapon. It is incredibly hamstrung in this regard though because it doesn't allow them to say just remove the Boltshot or Promethean Vision it has to be a change made to that entire category.

I’m getting Halo 5 day one regardless. I really want to see what they do with the overall sandbox, in that I mean new weapons, vehicles, locations, enemies, scale and more, wow that most hardware limitations and space problems should be fixed by next generation hardware.

I'm excited for Destiny, but admittedly am very skeptical of the coop focused feeling we get, and the MMO pay model being integral. Bungie will always have my ear, but they wanted away from Halo for many reasons. I hope they provide a unique, exciting, balanced experience.. But pretty much all bets are off at this point. They seemed bored with halo, so I don't expect this to be just another reskinned halo either

I fully expect Halo 5 to not have a shield system and have players holding A to take cover. They'll probably even try to tie it to a plot point, like having the Didact come back and rid the universe of all UNSC shield technology and replacing it with evil back magnets that snap players against walls.

eh if i hadn't gotten rid of my playstation a while ago i wouldn't have renewed xbl this year.

get PSN instead and get some free games every month, uncharted series, infamous, journey, last of us, etc and sipped on some mountain dew while i do so.

People should stream more Halo 2.

i was thinking about it, but i'm pretty bad and boring to watch so i decided against it

Based on your pretty drastic flip-flop in November I'd say they've got your sale.

(of course you're not the only one)

GG guys, and Squid, sorry about the two betrayals buddy, my bad. The first one was pretty funny from my POV, the second was due to my (and by extension Krow's) terribleness. :p

Also I guess, Frankie walked the walk, you are pretty good at swat, more so considering you're on an excercise bike as you're playing.

haha, overheating a turret on one guy and nothing happens to him was frustrating as shit. I guess eating shots is better than bad framerate, but not by much.

HYPE! got me I was optimistic towards H4. But after playing and seeing how 343i has treated Halo, I won't be there Day 1.

ME3 multiplayer > Spartan Ops

Honestly that's something that 343 should look into. It is like Firefight, but it also has micro objectives every 3 waves. The maps are okay, some maps have a good control point and others force you to move around. The biggest thing it has against it is that the weapons don't feel like they are doing a ton of damage, which is something that has been fairly good in Halo. I wasn't going to include ME3 on my GotY picks, but this actually gives it a lot more going for it.

We will see.

I have already both consoles, and I will buy both next gen variants of it, so?

I disagree, there are games which are more fun.

And even the story can't bring me back, maybe my expections of Halo 4 were way to high, but the campaign was a disaster for me, the whole presentation just was disappointing.

If I want good Halo stories I buy the books.
