Rayman Legends coming to Xbox 360/PS3, all versions releasing in September

'cause the overlap between people who buy Rayman and people who buy Grand Theft Auto games is soooo substantial.

So who at Platinum is going to cut off their head if Bayonetta 2 comes to PS360?

This is me, provided this means that Murfy crap is getting retooled.

Rather amusing to see this and Ninja Gaiden 3: RE both jump ship less than 24 hours apart. I hope Hero of Legend is okay.

Will make a mental note to pay attention to SkullplateMurray's post. Right on the money.

This was obvious from the gimped ass demo they put of on the eshop. It's going to be diminished to point where there probably won't be much point in getting the wii u version. It sucks because the original implementation the Wii U experience was freaking awesome. Sales trump gameplay though as evidenced by this entire generation.

Its not just that, its the TV advert or mag advert or ANY advert having to be run in February and then September to sell copies with just different logos at the bottom. Why piss twice when you can just piss once?

Because GTAV is one urinal over and nobody's watching your piss regardless of what's in the stream, I imagine.

Oh, good Ubisoft. Very very good, bastards...

In august please announce PC, Vita and 3DS versions for 2014 and delay everything once more.

I don't think I really mind that it's coming to other platforms. I'm just upset I have to wait half a year to get my hands on it.

A part of me is glad that it was delayed (due to so many good releases in Feb/Mar) but I'm a little sad that I'd have to wait another 7 - 8 months to play the full game. I really enjoyed the demo.

Really have to remember not to fall for the "exclusive" line anymore.

Makes no sense to hold back the Wii U version though if it's done. It's going to actually do worse in September. Does Ubisoft really think Rayman Legends can go toe to toe with Nintendo's holiday games. They delayed from the launch to likely not to have to go up against NSMBU which should likely be getting another push this holiday as well along with other games. Then there is the possibility of a 3D Mario dropping as well.

Wii U can't catch a break.

So much for Nintendo improving their relationship with third-party publishers. They're more alone than ever.

I think with a concerted effort, third parties could make sure the Wii U never has a chance at relevancy, making this gen a two console race. And not a "two console and 1 runaway success" like last time, a real two console only race.

September will be loaded with stuff and I think most people will wait for next-gen stuff; I don't think this was a wise decision

Wouldn't be surprised if it ended up on 720/PS4 as well which could potentially explain why its due in September (outside of 360/PS3 versions not being done before then)

If anyone needs to feel better, they're releasing this in the same month as Grand Theft Auto V. They are going to get crushed. I don't know why they carry on insisting doing this with the Rayman titles, a Spring release date would have made infinitely more sense.

I do hope out of principle for delaying a finished version of the game that they do lose sales and money on this move. I don't mind the other versions, but this was a sickening thing to do, so soon to the original Wii U release date.

I was actually going to buy the platform this month for the game. Guess not.

5 player isn't going to happen on Xbox 360. it could happen on PS3 though.

most likely though, the PS3/360 versions will have sizable differences in their level design when compared to the Wii U version wherever Murfy was required.

I'm happy just at looking to play the game as the first trailers showed up. Wich is great, i only wanted more Rayman Origin's Style a like.

So the theory was the Wii U would get ports of third-party Xbox 360 and PS3 games, but what's happening here is the Xbox 360 and PS3 is getting third-party ports of Wii U games. Interesting.

The WiiU version has tobe done right? What a dick move delaying it until September. I was really looking forward to play it this month. Now I also have nothing to play on my WiiU until the end or March (Lego and MH3U), and that since launch!

From what I understand the Wii U version has been ready to go since last fall but then somebody realized that putting Rayman up against the Mario juggernaut was not the best idea hence the first delay.

Ubisoft, you goddamn motherfuckers. I'm seriously pissed at this. They're really starting to become one of the worst publishers out there.

Sooooooo..... Beyond Good & Evil 2 is delayed even longer now...

What is the future of Zombi U, I wonder.

Who gives a shit really? If it lands on more platforms, that's fine. People already have the chance to play it.

This however...this shit feels more like consumer betrayal more than anything else. This game was coming in a few weeks man. I was REALLY looking forward to this holding me off till Monster Hunter. Now September? I may not even give a shit then depending on surrounding software releases.

Fucked. Up.

“When we saw all the comments when we announced the game would be focused on Wii U, all of the peeople that have both the PlayStation 3 and 360 were really disappointed,” Poix told IGN. “So we thought it was making more sense to also bring the game to where it was originally from. That means Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. So we decided to go for a multiplatform launch simultaneously.”

“It’s a different kind of experience if you have the Wii U,” Poix said. “Obviously there will be cooperation on the PS3 and 360, but on the Wii U there is still this magic of having one player that can play on one system with a new experience and the other on the usual game pad. That stays a Wii U exclusive for sure, by definition.”

“If they loved the Origins experience, it’s close to the same kind of feeling but with a level of immersion and brand new settings that haven’t been seen before. We have other features that I can’t disclose right now, but it’s really a brand new game. Even in terms of visuals, we built our own engine in terms of lighting, in terms of having 3D elements so you can have dragons that fly from far to go in your face and back. It’s a unique kind of 2D platforming experience.”

"[the reason for the delay is] really about the fans. It’s really about having a very interesting universe, a mix of craziness and poetry mixed all together. We are very happy that we can bring that to many, many Rayman fans and the more we can, the better.”

-Xavier Poix, managing director of Ubisoft’s French studios

What is the future of Zombi U, I wonder.

My guess is that a ton of people will get to experience the glory of playing Zombi (X360/PS), albeit a lesser version. The good news is an excellent game will get into the hands of more gamers as it should.

So the theory was the Wii U would get ports of third-party Xbox 360 and PS3 games, but what's happening here is the Xbox 360 and PS3 is getting third-party ports of Wii U games. Interesting.

I think we'll see a lot of this in Japan with PS3 getting a lot of Wii U titles.

Pie and Beans

Look for me on the local news, I'll be the guy arrested for trying to burn down a Nintendo exec's house.
Because GTAV is one urinal over and nobody's watching your piss regardless of what's in the stream, I imagine.

Maybe after all the flak vidyagames have been getting in Ammuricah, Ubisofts master play is with stricter sales on games like GTAV to kiddiewinks, Ubisofts bright and blaring platformer for all ages is on shelves at the same time as those little rapscallions get told to pick something else! ALL HAIL YVES MASTERPLAN!

Well, gamers that wanted to play it this month are rightfully pissed since the Wii U version is likely finished.

Yep. For the game to release on the 26th... the game went gold by now and was right about to be sent to factories for manufacturing.

It was LITERALLY DONE, but no! Negotiations just HAD to break down between Nintendo and Ubisoft!

God damn it. I really wanted this game in February.

Maybe when Nintendo asked, UBI said -again- that it wasn't ready for a February release.

Hell broke loose with Nintendo basically saying f**k-off to UBI which, in turn, went multi-platform even delaying the WiiU version.

Don't be surprised if WiiU version is cancelled at the end.
