Can someone explain this to me. Its about the Tactician, marriage, and the relationship with a certain character

So Im reading that you can have the Tactician and Lucina hook up. How exactly does that work? I thought all the kids were from Lucina's timeline, so would their kid be from a further future? Is this addressed within the support with the kid?

Yes
Morgan doesn't remember coming with everyone else, or if s/he is from the same time as them. Technically they can have a kid at the same time as everyone else, and Tactician x Lunicia's kid would come from generally the same time as everyone else, they just re-write the future and since things seem to go on in a single timeline, no one from the 2nd gen would know Morgan

I've always kept a dedicated healer in past games, but after seeing your post, I'm wondering if that's necessary.

Well if I need healing atm I just use Cynthia. As a Falcon Knight she can pretty much defend herself while getting around to heal. Lissa will probably go back to a healer after Galeforce is secured tho.

I can't remember the last time I had to heal someone ever since I started re-classing my characters. If I ever use heal, its to heal 1-3HP due to level-ups and for the sake of getting exp. But the "kill everything that moves before they kill me" strategy seems to be working fine especially with A/S support levels, no one can barely scratch my units.

Im not even high support levels with some of my best chars ( the second gens mostly) and they steamroll foes and take very little damage. Even these side missions for the kids have been kinda easy. (Other than me leaving Olivia out in the middle of nowhere to be gang rushed by like three people >_>)

Right, time is not written. I guess that makes sense, I can buy that.

That kind of issue is why Morgan has amnesia in the first place.
If you pair up the avatar with a first gen character that already has a child by default, resulting in siblings, then the sibling will recognize and acknowledge Morgan in their sibling supports. However, if you pair him up with someone that has no child by default, like a 2nd gen character, then there's no sibling support and none of the other children will recognize Morgan or mention anything about him/her in the future, leaving open the possibility that he's coming from some other alternate timeline, but without changing most of his/her script.

Anyone know if any of the shops sell throwing spears higher than javelins? I've been trying to check them all but haven't seen any.

So only spotpass so far is the pegasus knight right? And the DLC so far is Marth right?

Anyway help me regarding promotion and reclassing.

I know both resets levels but keeps some stats. With that said, it's better to reclass/promote after 10/15 right (for the skills)? Or is there any other incentive to keep promoting? Also, is it better to reclass or promote when given a choice?

Well first class has a skill at 10, so it's a good idea to promote then, it will be slower leveling, but will allow you to get more skills faster. Typically you can get a class as high as their best skill (if you want it) or re-class at level 10 promoted if you don't want/need the level 15 promoted skill. Getting to 20 unpromoted is of course easier, but leveling is still a good rate when promoted.

So I do things like Myrmidon to 10 -> Swordsmaster to 15 -> Second Seal to Hero -> Hero to 15 -> repeat as necessary. A promoted class must be level 10 in order to second class to another promoted class.

20 Bonus Teams and 2 Bonus Challengers are available right now. There is also Tyrfing. DLC available are CoY1, CoY2, and the Champions Pack (CoY1, CoY2, CoY3).

You have the right idea about promoting/reclassing. Just use whatever you want as you see fit.

Does anyone else keep resummoning Serra (lvl 14 healer) from the bonus box to grind out low level characters? Once you kill her posse, just throw your lowest level guy at her. She doesn't fight back and just sits there, letting you gobble up tremendous experience.

I think I like how they are selling DLC in packs for actually cheaper instead of the same price like they did with NSMB2.

Now maybe if I can clear Chapter 4 I'll be able to access DLC!

Still trying to wrap my head around that. I'm on Chapter 5, so I haven't started re-classing. I read plenty about it before getting the game, but it's still...weird.

Finally got a chance to do some grinding to get some characters up in level (aka, no more level 3 Stahl and Sully ;_;). Sumia finally figured out what a STR gain is! It only took 9 levels. I hate this game sometimes.

Hard Chapter 6 was kind of rough with Level 5 characters.

I really wish I had went with a caster Avatar, I think. Would make creating a chokepoint with him a lot easier when he can ranged counter every caster that comes to him + Pair Up making up for defensive stats. That and my game loved Magic growth anyway (10 Magic so far!).

Ahh okay.

Say, what about weapon proficiency? Are they kept? Like say, I have A in Sword, switched to a class that doesn't use sword (so it's useless for now), but then switched to a class that does use a sword. Is my Sword rank still A?

Is it really? You'll be losing 10 levels of stat improvements and level slower because promoting sets your level to 21. Unlike with second seals, I'm not sure it makes sense to use master seals as soon as you learn the skills.

I've heard that the actual ranks are remembered but I don't know about the exact level.

All SpotPass content is free and will forever be free. You can expect CoY1 to be the only free DLC. CoY2 is available right now for $2.50, and the Champions Pack can be purchased for $4.00 (will be $6.00 once CoY1 is no longer free). Only catch is that CoY3 isn't actually available yet, so purchasing the Champions Pack right now essentially means you're buying CoY3 ahead of time and are saving yourself like $1.00. CoY3 will be released next week, at $2.50 I presume.

Jesus Donnel is terrifying when you actually level him up. I was just getting him a couple levels to pass down Armsthrift or something to his kid but as a level 8 mercenary statwise he's already just about caught up to Chrom. Who is now a Great Knight on his third reclass. I didn't even know you could get +2 to a stat on level up until now.

When do I start getting Master Seals anyway? Most of my party is at/near level 10 as of Chapter 6, but map battles have like level 10-13 folks and I still get a lot of experience from encounters.

That is true in other FE games, but no so much in Awakening due to how every character has infinite levels (and the more internal/total levels a character has, the less EXP you'll get down the line). You'll get your stats either way, just not all from one class.

I believe the argument is that you'll hit stat caps long before you'd actually "run out" of levels to even gain (since ... you can't run out). So grinding out the rest of the promotion levels isn't as big of a deal anymore, just swap to get more skills.

Well, that's Donnel, I guess.

It's worth noting that I actually think he has lower stat caps than most people so he gains fast but doesn't get as high as everyone else.

Do the red enemy guys keep popping up on the map over and over? Should I be fighting them or just going through the story? If they're going to respawn I don't want to do the same thing over and over and sometimes its hard to remember if I've already fought them.

You'll get Master Seals at random along the way, but Chapter 12 is the first one that sells them, for 2500 each.

And yes, promoting at 10 is an awful idea in other Fire Emblems, but with infinite exp potential, that isn't the case this time. You'll hit the internal cap faster if you bother getting all levels of a class, while promoting early means you can get more skills in more classes before all your exp starts to get cut.

Red enemies pop up at times of day partially, or when you complete a chapter. You don't need to fight them, and no specific group will respawn. It's the main way to get gold, and typically the boss will have some uncommon weapon for that time, like Steel in first few or Silver after a while.

What class did you guys promote Frederick to? He's my main tank at the moment, hits hard but levels up slowly.

Also, for Lon Qu, would it be better to promote to Swordmaster or Assasin?

Can I make Donnel into a terrifying melee fighter if I'm patient? I just got him right now and I loved Ross in Sacred Stones and I get the idea that Donnel is sorta similar.

I really doubt there are any chapters with infinite reinforcements in this game.

One of the deciding factors has to be how you intend to play the game, right? I mean, if you are planning on grinding to get everyone (or a lot of units) to their maximum potential then it probably makes sense to do what you're saying, but if you just intend to play the game at a fairly normal pace it might be more beneficial to promote the units earlier.

I'm doing all the paralogues that come up and an occasional risen battle but I'm not going to do any DLC (saving that for a second run-through). I don't want to screw up the balance of the game too much by grinding like crazy but I still have quite a few units that I want to use, so is it really going to benefit me in the long run to force everyone to hit 20 before I promote them? I can't say for sure, but it doesn't seem like it will be very doable.

It seems to me IS has intentionally designed the game to encourage players to promote earlier than in previous FE's, specifically with how the skill system works (non-promoted classes earning their last skill at level 10). It may not be the most efficient method for those who are looking to maximize their units through grinding, but since I'm not interested in doing that I'm not sure it makes sense for me to wait.

Promoted units have the same internal level (21) regardless of whether they promote at 10 or at 20. Yes, if they reclass they'll still eventually hit the stat caps, but there's no real incentive to promote immediately either.

What about getting the advanced class skills sooner?

That's a good point. It seems that the class changing is designed in a way that doesn't punish the player no matter when that first master seal is used. I was just questioning the line of thinking that it had to be done immediately at 10. When I heard that I thought I was wasting levels by not having enough master seals early enough, but that's not the case at all. It seems best to promote whenever and don't worry about internal levels unless you are using second seals.

That's true for skills, but I'm assuming you gain EXP at a much quicker rate when you're something like a level 11 non-promoted class versus a level 1 promoted class. I'm not sure about that, though.

Yep, there seem to be pros and cons to both approaches.

It's more just a suggestion to get the skills earlier I think, really. You're not really wasting anything as far as I'm aware. Though, I'm not sure how the EXP system functions for Awakening; I want to say that promoting functions the same and Second Seals keep half the level but I'm not entirely sure as I haven't really checked any of it.

Man, so much stuff to do right now. Several paralogues, risen spawns, spotpass teams, DLC maps... it seems like the overworld map is completely filled. TIME TO GRIND.

OK thanks. I guess I'll keep doing them.

The feeling of frantically multiplying stuff by 3 when you get attacked by some dude with a Killer Bow is terrifying. So many sighs of relief when it doesn't crit, so many bowed heads of sorrow when it does.

I guess im only on chapter 6 but when do you get to grind stuff out?

Also sully seems like an awful unit. Her growths seem terrible.

Also when does the waifu start?

Waifu starts as soon as you S-LINK....and in terms of grinding go replay the DLC chapter over and over. There's your grinding ;P.

Had that happen last night to Tharja who lived with three HP. I immediately and angrily exclaimed to my friends that enemies shouldn't be allowed to crit during my salty rage.
