The old contract seemed to indicate it was in some form exclusive to the 360 for this generation, though. Or that's what I remember, I get fuzzy on the details.
They don't really need to right? Just some snippets about the universe, the story and maybe some screenshots, not more. A blowout at E3.
MS supposedly has first dibs on a timed exclusive.
So it could be current gen PS360 and a Durango version as well.
Their contract (which is from 2010, so it could have changed) lists platforms as follows:
Destiny 1 (Fall 2013): 360, 720
Destiny 1 (Fall 2014): PS3 (only if Bungie decides it's technically feasible)
Coment 1 (Fall 2014): 360, 720
Destiny 2 (Fall 2015): 360, 720, PS4, PC

They can't reveal anything about next gen systems, other than to say "next gen systems". Even though it's pretty obvious that the PS4 will be called... the PS4.

Does anyone else think Bungie is a little too insular and up-its-own-ass? Saying nothing about the quality of their games, it's just kind of this exclusive, arrogant vibe I get. Puts me off 'em.

PS3 version may have been later if they couldn't get it running well but since they added PSN login to Bungie.net I think it's in good shape.

As I wrote in the other thread, this reveal will only excite me if it is in a next generation context. The game itself of course excites me but the thoughts of visuals hindered by the hardware of Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 (against Durango and Orbis) isn't very mesmerising.
They've already got 4 sequels planned...

I can't help but think MS were sitting on some exclusive announcement dealio here, ready to be fired out short notice before any kind of PS4 announcement.

They're releasing four games and four expansion packs in eight years along with subscriptions, downloadable content, value added services, and microtransactions, so diamount's sentiment isn't wholly uncalled for.

Since it said Destiny in the contracts, and not Tiger, I'd assume Comets are the real name as well. Things can change in 3 years though.

Since this is happening before any next gen reveals, I'm going to assume the contract is at least close to accurate, and my main fear that it would go to Durango/orbis seem unfounded.

The point is, it's on XB3 too, and if they show it on that, it will be the debut of the system.
This was the first thing that came to mind. I do not think it was Bungie's idea to reveal the game before GDC. But Sony's abrupt announcement after going on record to say that they would rather let MS make the announcement of their next gen console first, may have illicit this reaction from MS.
If it's Halo with microtransactions, then yeah.
I don't see why that can't change from then till now though.

I just don't see activision publishing what is essentially a microsoft exclusive. It doesn't make sense for them.

Sneaking in an XB3 reveal with it would be mind blowing. I really hope all these guys (pubs and platform holders) start firing their big guns.

My guess is they want to show the world before Sony's first parties get all the attention after the 20th. Knowing Bungie, I'm expecting very underwhelming graphics/animations but good gameplay...

When this was written they would have known nothing about the next gen consoles so it wouldn't be at all surprising if it's now coming to PS4 too.
