I can't say that Halo 3 was ever announced or hinted at in any official way but it's been rumored to exist on and off for 6 years.

I want that on PC more than anything else.

on one hand I think it's still up in the air because of the recent steam database sighting

on the other one I think it'd be fucking ridiculous to do that port now

Halo 2 PC was kinda ridiculous when it was released.

Why? It was the last good Halo game.

cause the game is 6 years old and whatever studio's handling the port has got to be focusing on something more relevant at this point

if it does come out, it should cost $15, 20 tops.

1) no way that's going to happen
2) if it does, I dont think the revenue would be worth the cost of the port
3) it wont have servers for mp

One possible scenario is theyre porting/upgrading the older Halos for the Durango and decided to throw them on PC as well since the architectures are similar.

Or at least thats how it goes in my dreams.

Metal Gear Rising is a good, recent example.

Mind you, when they announced the PC version, the game barely existed. It's like promising a job to a newborn.

I seem to be one of few, but I outright hated Splosion Man. Levels just got to be so tedious and the samey designs went on and on and on and on and after awhile I just turned it off and never came back.

mostly I just wanted Twisted Pixel to make the jump already. It'd be great for them (and us)

I think that's totally gonna happen. First Platinum PC title after their visit to Valve and all that. Book it.

I hated Splosion Man from the get go, was surprised about the love It got.

Anyway as for Disappearing PC ports I recall Silent Hill Downpour was sort of hinted at one point. I know the comment was along the lines of it's in konami's hand but some of the extra talk made it sound like a good chance especially with homecoming being on PC.

Yeah, count me in the boat that's expecting the Rising PC announcement any day here. Especially with the good sales.

You're not one of the few. Terrible series, overrated developer that's made nothing but low-grade garbage, getting by on referential hooks.

Microsoft bought Twisted Pixel, that was when the 'Splosion Man ports vanished.

Cause you know, why would the creator of Windows want to release games on their own platform. Stupid fucks.

I doubt Microsoft's gaming division sees Windows as their platform, to be honest.

That ended when they weren't able to successfully get people to pay for Live on PC.

I'm seriously looking forward to a potential Halo 3 and MGSR:R ports. Platinum's introduction to the PC will be legendary. Halo'd comeback will be phenomenal.

The one game that has been rumored for a long time is the new Metal Gear Solid game. KO Ami has taken a renewed interest in the PC recently with Castlevania. And they were hiring for FOX engine engineers who specialized in the PC.

Was Dragon's Dogma rumoured or announced to come to PC but vanished? I thought it was but I can't seem to find it now....

battlefield 1943

That was a letdown but I'm glad I bought it at launch on PS3. Otherwise, I would have missed out on it and it was actually a lot of fun for a small game. It just makes me want a true BF1942 sequel even more though, especially since they're on FB2 now and destruction played such a huge part in that war.

Other than that, I'd say there's like 20 MS games that were never heard about again on PC. I was surprised to see Alan Wake still come to PC eventually and I'm glad it did. I guess MS thought it was worth it to try and make people buy 360's for their exclusives for the most part and I doubt that will change. Edit: I know MS didn't have anything to do with AW on PC, just saying that I was surprised it showed up at all.

Dave Cox teased the existence/possibility of a PC port of the original Lords of Shadow back when the sequel was announced for the PC, but I haven't heard/read anything of it since. Mind you, I suppose this is understandable in light of the fact that the past six-odd months have seen little said of even the sequel itself.

Capcom UK confirmed a PC port but then quickly retracted its statement.

I think a capcom employee also let it slip at PAX last year or something

I thought it was the EU capcom twitter?
Anyway it seems like its planned...Might be one of the announcements for PAX.
A PC port sounds about right for a reveal there. Would probably be the new 40 dollar version to.

I liked 1943 more than either Bad Company or Battlefield 3 :lol Too bad it's stuck on my Live account for my Xbox which I no longer have.

They should make another version of Battlefield like that based on BF2.

As far as I know, Alan Wake was originally developed for the PC so I never found that all that surprising. I know the base game was changed a lot, most likely so that the X360 could run it.

Yea, but when it went away for a while, I thought it was a deal struck with MS to keep exclusive or something. That was one of their big games outside of Halo and Gears that excited people quite a bit so I always thought it wouldn't surprise me if a deal was made.

I'm so glad it's on PC though. Absolutely gorgeous on there.

Wasn't there that one poster that had red dead redemption coming to PC? I've already beat it on Xbox but would absolutely double dip if it came to PC. Really can't imagine just how much better it would look with all that AA and downsamlping, oh and 60fps to boot too. But at this point in the generation, it is looking like there is no chance for a port at all... maybe RDR2.

Your logic makes sense, I just forgot it disappeared. The sole reason Halo and Gears is not on PC is to not take away from the 360 base, although I don't think that matters too much with a single-player only game like Alan Wake. I still wish the original concept of Alan Wake came to fruition. That open world tech demo on PC looked so amazing.

There were rumors for RDR for quite some time but I never had the feeling it was coming for some reason. It's a shame since that game's atmosphere with some higher PC settings would probably make for my GOTY since the console game was close to that already for me.

Maybe it's a blessing after experiencing GTAIV on PC, but I do hope RDR2 is in the works and comes to PC.

The game went from open-world to chiefly linear with a few interstitial "wide-linear" moments (such as when you're to meet Alice's kidnapper at the abandoned mine; you're free to drive around and explore the area) due to the impact the former approach had on narrative pacing, and this was decided just six months after the game's original announcement; well before Microsoft climbed on board and later made the game (temporarily) X360-exclusive, and we've no reason to believe an X360 version was even on the cards prior to Microsoft assuming publishing duties.
