Three in March, Destroyin' Backlogs One Month at a Time

Inspired by the Four in February thread posted by PBalfredo and plenty of people clamoring for March's thread, I had to step up and deliver.

GAF needs to keep the train rolling, destroying our backlogs before the holiday release gauntlet and new consoles roll around, with inevitable, delicious new IPs in tow.

The challenge is simple, complete three games in March. They can be games you started in February 2013, or December 1997, it doesn't matter, just get them done by April.

Tools:

Backloggery
How Long to Beat
GAF Backlog Blitz Thread

Past Threads:

Four in February, take a bite out of your backlog

My Three:

Sleeping Dogs (PC)
Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga (GBA)
Bioshock Infinite (PC)
EDIT: Don't Starve (PC) - Picked this game up and I am having a blast. If you enjoy Terraria or Minecraft survival/building gameplay from an isometric perspective, this is for you.

If I have some spare time:

XCOM: Enemy Unknown (PC)
Mark of the Ninja (PC)

I need to replay Bioshock, and then crush Infinite before school heats up again by the end of the month. I've gotta finally clear Black/White 2 as well (failed to do so in Feb). So yeah, one's a replay, but there's only so much time in a month!

Glad this thread idea is continuing on, and equally glad we're going for 3 instead of 4; much more realistic.

• Bioshock
• Bioshock Infinite
• PKMN Black 2

If time is gifted to me, I want to either roll in some replay time with SMG 1 and 2, or maybe even pop in The Last Story, finally.

Sure why not, I relish the chance to fall flat on my face yet again:

  • Fire Emblem: Awakening
  • Metal Gear Rising: Revengence
  • Ni No Kuni

Assassin's Creed III - Wii U. I'm like 30% done now, and would like to continue it and complete it
Super Mario RPG - SNES - Gotten to the end, but never did beat it. I'll start over tonight and finish it this month.
The Simpsons: Hit & Run - GCN - Gotten pretty far many years ago. But never finished it. Now I'll attempt to finish it.

I beat The Darkness 2 last night, but it was after midnight so technically I'm already at +1. Hooray!!

I'm getting Tomb Raider next week so that will be next on my list, and then I also plan to annihilate the rest of BioShock 2 this month. I'm not getting BioShock Infinite though, so I'm not playing BS2 in order to prepare for Infinite or anything. Just wanna get it out of my backlog after my 360 deleted my save game and made me restart from the beginning.

Fire Emblem Awakening (3DS). Just started.

Killzone: Liberation (PSP). First four missions done.

Forza Horizon (Xbox 360). Will start next week.

Three sounds ambitious for me this month, as I'm going to tackle Xenoblade (after I finish Saint's Row 3 tonight). I'll still list three though to give me a goal just in case I slay Xenoblade faster than I anticipate.

Xenoblade (~3 or 4 hours in right now)
Super Mario 3D Land
New Super Mario Bros 2

Far Cry 3
Ni no Kuni
Bioshock 1 and 2 (I'm counting that as one.)

You can count them as two.

Games over the goal are just extra credit.

Tall order.

I'm upset I didn't make the four in February =(

Ah well, guess I'll just have to go harder this time around:

Pushmo
Vanquish (Plat)
Crimson Shroud

Hmm... maybe if I can commit to it in writing I'll finish some of these games I'm half done with:

Ni No Kuni
Xenoblade Chronicles
Persona 3 FES

Good thing they're all nice short titles, right?

...right?

I'm carrying over the three I failed to beat in February.

Pokemon Black - Only a few hours left.
Ni No Kuni - 30+ hours left.
The Legend of Zelda - I'm on dungeon 4.

I'm also adding Pushmo, Rayman Origins, and DQIV to this list since I'm fairly far along in them.

Games I will probably finish this month

- Metal Gear Rising
- Fire Emblem: Awakening
- Bit.Trip Runner 2
- Zombi U
- Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm 3

If I get through any three of those, I'm satisfied.

Well, lets see what I can finish this month...

From Dust, sure why not it's a fun game that is just sitting there.

The internet tells me it takes less than 10 hours, so I think I will probably start and finish Binary Domain.

Not sure about the third one. Will decide later

Beating three games in March is not going to help with my backlog in the slightest >_> Maybe if I do 10 in March I'll notice a dent.

Argh, I want to participate but who am I kidding.

I just bought Fire Emblem and got a ridiculous deal on Bioshock and Tomb Raider pre-orders.

one of these months...

I think I can complete the challenge this month, so I'll join:

-Bioshock
-Pokémon White 2
-Shin Megami Tensei Nocturne

after knocking three games out within the first 15 days of february I hit a rut and failed to finish the last game. hopefully I can do the full list this time.

Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker
Metal Gear Solid 2
BioShock 2

Alright, Ill give this a go. Id like to beat these:

Persona 4 (PS2)
Torchlight 2 (PC, full co-op, so this depends on my friend)
Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning (PS3 or maybe PC, not sure yet, any input?)
Heavy Rain (PS3)
Potentially Demons Soul's over one of them if I can man up and play it through.

I think I failed miserably at February. I beat Dragon Quest IV and Torchlight 2, and played about a bajillion hours of Xenoblade. I should be able to handle these in March:

Pokemon Black 2 (4/8 badges right now)
Xenoblade (level 64, but I'm doing allllll the sidequests)
Resident Evil 5 or Mark of the Ninja

No reason you can't aim for more than three! Hell, the previous thread was four.

...Though this does seem like it's overlapping more and more with the year-long backlog blitz, what with no special measures being taken. Like, in the original thread, OP didn't choose the titles they'd been dared to beat in February—a friend did, and vice versa for the friend. That would make things more interesting.

Alternatively: anyone got any ideas for a little avatar "prize" stamp for those who complete the challenge? lol

I successfully did my Four for February, so here goes:

Etrian Odyssey IV (3DS)
Tomb Raider (PC)

Anddd...... Hmmmm...... Let's go with finally finishing

Skyrim (PC)

Having just finished Ni No Kuni last night, I'm going to focus on 3 shorter games this month.

1. Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance
2. DmC: Devil May Cry
3. Tomb Raider (Picking it up this Tuesday)

I'll more than likely try to knock out Crysis 3 and Dead Space 3 if I have the time.

I finished my 5th game yesterday with 30 minutes to spare in the day. My 5 a month challenge continues!

January:

999
Far Cry
Max Payne 2
Leisure Suit Larry 2
Persona 3:FES

February:

Sly 3
Advance Wars 2
All Zombies Must Die
Yu-Gi-Oh: Eternal Duelist Soul
Assassin's Creed 3

I just have 2 to beat but want to do it before MH3U comes out on the 19th. Those are

Skyward sword (just beat the 2nd dungeon)

Zombi U (stuck very late in the game)

You know what I did in February? I finally beat the first boss in Bit.Trip Runner and some missions in GTA.

This month should be less hectic, but I'll have to carry over, so:

Journey/Ico
GTA: BoGT
Bit.Trip Runner
Psychonauts

All I have progress in, so I should be able to do this.

Ok, should be easy.

- Fire Emblem Shadow Dragon (currently on ch5)
-Super Mario 3D Land (done with main levels)
-Batman Arkham Asylum
-New Super Mario Wii U

Those are the games I would like to finish ASAP.

Fire Emblem: Awakening
Kid Icarus: Uprising
Mega Man 7

About halfway done with Fire Emblem and Kid Icarus. MM7 I have on the anniversary collection but I don't think I've ever played it. Figure it would be a nice change of pace.

Also have a few games on the VC for my 3DS I may try to finally finish:

Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins
Super Mario Land 3: Warioland
3D Classics Kirby's Adventure

I beat The Darkness 2 last night, but it was after midnight so technically I'm already at +1. Hooray!!

LOL...I just beat Sleeping Dogs last night at 1 a.m. so I'm in the same boat. My goal for the year is finishing one game per month, so I need all the help I can get. My other two games will be:

Tomb Raider
Halo 4

So far, this is my list:

Pokemon Black 2 (complete the Pokedex, including event legendary Pokemon; carrying this over from last month)
Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward (I have pretty much only all routes in the Cyan door to go through)
Metal Gear Rising Revengeance (played through about 2 hours already, sooooooo good)
Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story (was told to move it up in my backlog since it is the best M&L game in the series so far)

I think I can finish all of these and add more.

first third of Xenoblade
second third of Xenoblade
third third of Xenoblade

I lol'd because it's true.

This was my four for February
  • dmc: Devil May Cry
  • Assassin's Creed 3
  • Dead Space 2
  • Arkham Asylum

I failed to beat any of them last month
...but I only beat dmc today, so I'll carry the other 3 over for my March target. ;(

All I have left on my backlog is Resident Evil 6, Zelda Skyward Sword and Xenoblade.

I doubt I can get through all those in one month.

I did actually finish 4 games in February, although I never thought I could.

I am happy to try for 3 in March, but I can't declare them in advance. I would like to finish Amalur pretty soon, but that will depend on my access to the ps3. in the end, I'll just play whatever I feel like at the time.

A good deal of my time will be put in Fire Emblem: Awakening, but I'm hoping to finish at least some of these games this month:

Psychonauts
Bioshock
Episode 4 & 5 of The Walking Dead
Act 1 of Kentucky Route Zero

And maybe I'll get to Zeno Clash and Cave Story+ too.

Only managed 1 in February but I will try.

Fist of the North Star: Ken's Rage 2[WiiU]
Fire Emblem Awakening[3DS]
Style Savvy Trendsetters[3DS]
