Drag-on Dragoon 3 (Drakengard 3) announced for PS3 [Details in OP]

Loves Robotech S1
My excitement will be determined entirely by who is developing.

But otherwise, holy shit. More Mana pls.

What?!

Hopefully its localized as Ubisoft brought Drakengard 2 over I think. Loved Drakengard 2 for a long time. Was one of the only spontaneous purchases I ever made. It was a bit hard to go back to when I tried a few years ago though. Never got the last ending in Drakengard 1 either if I recall. Stopped playing it for some reason.

I'd probably pick this up. I enjoy the melancholy tone of the series. No signs of pacts though yet huh?

No details on developer or publisher yet, or platform

Square Enix owns this IP.

they even trademarked it (again) a few months ago.

Well, this is unexpected.

I wonder if Taro is working on this; IIRC, he's been freelancing at Squenix for a bit, specifically on one of their browser games.

Should I be ordering Drakengard 1 and 2 right now? I fell in love with Nier and the prospect of more Yoko Taro is sooooo good.

Some more info:

The Utautai (Songstress) are people who exhibit the ability to manipulate magic using songs. The main missions in the game take place on the ground, and the power of the power of the player increases when exposed to blood splatter. Sounds like a M rated game like the previous ones.

Probably because the requirements for the final ending of Drakengard border on trolling the player, especially considering what happens.

Rhythm-based boss battle against a giant pregnant goddess in the middle of 21st century Tokyo, followed by Caim and Angelus being unceremoniously killed by fighter jets, triggering the events of Nier.

Of the two, the first game is the one most like Nier, as its ultimate ending is a direct setup for what goes down in Nier. Drakengard 2 branches off from one of the other endings, and it's a considerably less memorable game.

lol I think I saw this on Youtube later on. Don't think I actually reached this part though. If this gets localized I'll definitely go back and finish it up.

EDIT: Looks like I only got to ending 2.

I am just surprised they didn't decide to just make a new series. Does Drakengard sell well? I never really checked when those games released, didn't know there was a market for a "3."

Not that I'm complaining, they were always fun (if super flawed) little diversions. Just curious is all

One of the main characters in the Drag-On Dragoon manga is called One, and she is known as the "original songstress."
EDIT: Beaten.

Hmm, interesting. I looked into the two Drakengard games and they seemed interesting but everyone was saying the gameplay was mediocre so I held off. If they really improve the combat for this one it could be good.

What??? WOW!!!

Now this is an interesting Tuesday leak!!
I hope it's from the same guys that did Nier, one of the masterpieces of this generation.

I loved Nier so I should really try this series out at some point.

Don't expect anything like Nier from the first two chapters though, you're just going to be disappointed.
I played the first one back then, it wasn't bad, but not even good. It was just... interesting I guess.

I heard that the second one is even worse.
