I can't seem to find update numbers for TOGF or TOV to see that it out sold it but 3 times .
Mind showing them to me either way as you said they need to make the games thinking about WW release or close to each other .

Last numbers I saw were something like that (source is NPD)

Tales of Destiny - 68,647
Tales of Destiny 2 (Eternia) - 57,896
Tales of Symphonia - 470,253
Tales of Legendia - 83,343
Tales of Phantasia - 88,235
Tales of the Abyss - 72,192
Tales of the World - 39,809
Tales of Vesperia - 144,354
Tales of Vesperia LE - 6944
Tales of Symphonia 2 - 136,695

Apparently Graces F would be around ~70k

NPD numbers were 64k for Graces F and 144k for Vesperia. Also 136k for Dawn.

of course I'm hoping it does more

SS 165k
Vita 50k

(Basing the SS numbers on the fact that Senran Kagura Shinovi Versus had 80 reviews at Amazon Japan while SS already has 129 reviews)

I just double checked, and I was off, it's closer to doubled (but still over that). The NPD numbers aren't public but can be found without too much trouble googling.

I just feel like a lot of opportunity was wasted for Tales following Symphonia's breakout western success, and part of that was due to platform selection. I think Abyss (PS2/GC), Vesperia (360/PS3) and Graces (Wii/PS3/360) all would've benefitted overseas by being mutli from day one. Same for Symphonia really too, a PS2 version actually might've helped build a sustainable base for these games on that console.

ToV (360) - 107k
ToG (PS3) - 70K

EDIT:
beaten and with more updated data.

Graces Wii should've launched aside Graces f on PS3 in NA with all bugs fixed and maybe some of the smaller extras the PS3 got (maybe weapons, bonuses, and such, not the entire other story arc).

Then we could've had a real look at a level-headed comparison I believe.

I think these are way more likely to appeal to the "casual Final Fantasy JRPG fan" than this:

Just a theory, I'd like to hear some other opinions on this, too.
This is different from the boxart that they actually went with for the US release, unless there was a reversible cover that I don't know about (I would say an improvement over what we did get, even with it being the same artist).
Still, the game being a (very) late up-port of a Wii title that they still saw to charging full price for certainly didn't help, either.
