Damn, I thought this was a joke thread. Thank God, he was scaring me shitless with that whole "pay to reload" crap.

Good riddance.

"I'm Sorry for SimCity" is not in that. Why not?

Hehe.

In reality, it makes sense. His position's been in jeopardy pretty much since he's been hired, with rumors peaking a year or two ago that he was about to be let go. EA was making a LOT more money prior to 2006 than they are now (though, come to think of it, that's pretty much the entire generation).

Personally, I think being evil might be catching up to them, but, of course, they're going to blame Riccitello for the poor performance of Dead Space 3, Bulletstorm, Dante's Inferno, The Old Republic, and Syndicate, as well as the poor public reaction to SimCity. Pretty sure they should be blaming Bioware for inventing project $10, DICE for browser-Battlefield, Bulletstorm's marketing/stupid design, and the guy who won't approve online-only games.

Wow. I wouldn't want to be the one tasked with getting EA profitable again. Maybe they'll gradually get out of AAA development altogether under the new management.

So Peter Moore as CEO, then Microsoft takes over in 2 years? Maybe Stephen Elop was just the canary to test the strategy.

Hah... I complained about the list of free games they had for the SimCity debacle (as I own most of them already) but hell... I'll take this instead easily!

We need a long list of his many "accomplishments" now.

-Bought and crushed Pandemic and participated in Bioware's downfall
-Started project 10 dollar and other anti-consumer tactics
-SimCity fiasco
-The old republic bombing, perhaps the most expensive bust ever
-Pulled out of Steam and started a competing service that no one wanted and is worse in every way

People can add to it. There are literally too many to list for just me.

His replacement will probably be an even bigger cunt.
Exactly. This is the direction EA is heading in. He is being fired because of his hefty investments in the beginning that were gamer friendly. Mobile and annual Madden/Battlefield/FIFA is the future of EA. Expect the worse. Riticello was reacting to the deep shit he put EA in.

Surprised he made it after TOR, not much of a shock

Real news will be if EA tries to take this and run, overhauling their negative image they've (rightfully) be given over the last few years.
