How is TWD game? It sort of came from nowhere. Is it just your average linear, 3 hour FPS?

Nope. It's an almost point and click adventure game. I played on xbox 360 so it was a bit awkward at parts.

You just point at items, at people, and at times, you have QTE's that require you to aim/click at a specific area. For example, if a walker has grabbed you, you need to aim at his mouth quickly and press a button or click to knock him back.

It works quite well, some parts are a bit awkward, but you truly need to play through it. Great storytelling, great voice acting.

I think he's talking about (or thinking of) Survival Instinct

The episodic arcade Walking Dead game is great!

On a more serious note, its unfortunate that it AA's the GUI/2D so much. Was that taken with the temporal varient of the AA perchance? Did you use the single button all-AA comparison burst mode?

Most importantly, how does it look in motion?

What about on native 720p games? (Halo wars?)

what the hell you just made me bump a 6 month old thread.

Sorry, next time I'll put a warning, I just wanted to quote the original post.

Remember those easter eggs?

The temporal AA mode fixes the text and makes it look correct.

I'll try some more 720p-y Halo titles next. It looks softer in motion on certain edge-tastic areas of maps, but otherwise there's just not enough pixels for the program to work much magic on.

To be fair to Domino, there are now 2 games, and the newest one is a FPS called The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct.

TWD: Season 1 game is quite good, though.

Oh. But when we were talking about the EA sale, I meant the walking dead episodic game. Because that first page shows its on sale for only $10... I didn't even know of the survival instinct game myself. I was going by what games were shown on that first page.

Someone said they hadn't played any, and off the top of my head I said ME3, arkham city, bf3 premium and walking dead were the ones I'd get.

The episodic one is the only one on sale, I'm guessing that Domino was confused and just thought that Survival Instinct was the one on sale or something.

Halo Wars. Note the flag in front of the base

TPXAA

FXAA is the best for getting rid of jaggies and stair stepping on the game world, but it also impacts the HUD. TPXAA fixes the HUD, but then it's a little too nice about the game world and leaves things jaggy in certain places.

It's just cause FXAA adds that soft, blurred effect to it. TPXAA only looks a little sharper compared to NOAA for me.

Hey HaloGAF, I just heard that CSR will be making a return in Halo 4..

Do you guys think this will have any effect on the game's current population? Perhaps maybe a revival of the Halo community?

And why did 343i wait so long to implement a CSR into Halo 4? What's the point this far in the game's lifespan?

Is it worth doing in the end? Personally it looks near the same, I have to study the shot just to see the difference.

The in-motion part sells the FXAA/Scaling more. If you've got the setup for it and dont' mind playing through this program, then might as well. Not worth running out and building a computer for it though (especially since you're also running up against whatever the game has going for AA, as well)

I'll try to get some video done tomorrow.

1. No

2.Microsoft didn't want players to become to attached to their ranking and not purchase newer titles.

3. There really is none aside from supporting the few hardcore players remaining.

Halo 4's population wont go up just because of a number on a website.

Although you guys have a strong misconception about Halo 4's population right now. Just because 50K or 60K is the peak population in a day, doesnt mean that the game is "dead'. That probably adds up to around atleast 300,000+ unique users per day.

Halo 5 is the next chance though to get big population numbers and be #1 or #2 again, though.

This whole CSR business is 343 saying "Here you go, stop moaning about ranks now."

Although you guys have a strong misconception about Halo 4's population right now.

There may be 50k people online, but when Majestic FFA only has 200 of those 50k people it becomes a problem. Low player count spread over lots of playlists means everyone gets less chance of playing on a decent host.

This keeps getting better. Say more things Casanova, he has to run out of Nicholas Cage gifs eventually.

I hope not.

EDIT: I haven't been keeping up with Halo at all lately. I actually haven't played the game since early December, so I'm a little behind on how the game is doing on the charts right now.

I doubt it in terms of big numbers. Remember, Halo 3 was so good because most people were coming off the high that was Halo 2 and the fact that Call of Duty didn't hit it's stride yet.

Next gen, we're coming off two Halo games that have pretty much alienated a large group of fans from the past decade.

Not to mention that Halo 5 will most likely be going up against Destiny, a next generation call of duty and Battlefield 4.

Will it be number 1 or 2 on Nextbox? Quite possibly. Will Halo ever be the FPS king again? Doubt it, especially with 343 at the helm and Microsoft dictating it.

The fact Black Ops 2 just had a huge ass MLG tourney shows me that Call of Duty is going to be highly relevant next gen as well, both for casuals and competitive players.

Things can change quite quickly :)

Just need a team that knows whats up, and can keep up to deliver a game that people want. And dont rush. I believe that can completely kill a game.

RIP Halo.

I can't see Halo 5 topping CoD, BF4 AND Destiny. No way man.

Unless 343 make H2.5 remastered 1080 60fps CE Magnum edition on dedis that ships with all previous Halo maps and 12 new ones.

Also, like someone else said earlier. Halo 5 or bust.

So Halo is doomed. :(

Still confuses me how 343 and Microsoft kept in AA and even made the game worse with changes the Community obviously didn't want. They should have known that from all the backlash Reach got.

Part of me still thinks that maybe Bungie was contractually obligated to add AA into Halo with Reach, or at the very least... Microsoft gave them guidelines/told them what too do.

Well, we don't know how well Destiny will turn out yet. It looks good so far, but it might not be that successful. I don't get why people are so hyped about the 3 seconds of video we've seen. It may be a Bungie game, but that doesn't automatically make it the best game ever.

What Halo needs is modding, and MS would never support that. If the Nextbox supported modding, it would be the best thing ever.
