Pretty cheap too at 25$, might pick up one.

That is $25? For a few more dollars, you could get a Bluray drive...$25 for a floppy reader is expensive. That shit should be $1 and bundled with Mobos like a USB cable. Shit.

How else are you going to read floppy disk? Buy a floppy drive for your tower? 25$ for a plug and play drive is pretty cheap.

So... has this been uploaded by anyone yet? I bought the bundle at PAX East. I tried running on an ancient laptop running Windows ME (ugh) that was given to me awhile back but it didn't start. The files look weird too... I ran the only executable in the folder (Linstall.exe) and it wanted me to point to some Lotus 1-2-3 Linstall directory... Here's the file listing. Also weird that the date on the files are from 1991.

Woah, that is weird. That kinda makes me think that the disk is just a duplicate of whatever old floppy disk they found around the office. Is there a code or a URL on there anywhere that might lead to a downloadable version?

That's a Lotus 1-2-3 installer disc. Looks like Disc 4.

Man, that's really cool looking.

Sort of off topic, but I gotta say, I absolutely love Swords and Sworcery's art style. I was kind of disappointed by the gameplay just because I don't really care for point and click type games. I was hoping for something closer to Zelda or something when I first saw it. I'd pay a large sum for an action adventure game with that same art style.

They did warn that some of the floppies might not work, though I don't think having Lotus on it was part of the expected failure plan.

If I knew there was a chance that some of the floppies couldn't even be bothered to contain the actual game, I wouldn't have even considered shelling out $40 for it. I swear I have the worst luck buying shit at PAX East. Last year I bought Puzzle Strike only to find out that they announced a Kickstarter the following month for a new edition of the game.

looks like it's pretty random. One of the devs here got disk 6 of some game (we saw ega/vga/cga/ files).

works for Gamestop (lol)
Is this some social thing where people will have to upload their disks and put them together to form the game?

QUICKLY...

If you bought the game and disks were borked / didn't include the game, just PM me or email info@capybaragames.com

We used our parent's old floppies because recycling! Sometimes they might not work, but everyone who bought it **WILL** get the game.

Also, everyone who bought it is **FREE TO SHARE THE GAME ON GAF IF THEY WANT**

Also, **WORDS IN ALL CAPS INSIDE STAR QUOTES**.

If you got a bum disk, super sorry but we'll hook you up.

Very pretty visually, framerate takes a nosedive off the high rise on fullscreen and the controls are super sticky. Still, a really neat little thing from capy and double fine's love.

I was happy playing.

Then I got super bummed when I noticed it's one of those "drift to store your boost power" kind of games

That's not outrun. Drifting is boosting is the bane of this genre.

[sarcasm]I'm very angry at this free game![/sarcasm]

I wonder if it has an ending?

Also, Double Fine already got their Kart Racing game. It's all down here from here, folks!

I did not know about this until it was too late. I definitely would have bought one. I ended up with a DF tshirt. Wish I could have nabbed a floppy.

The disks are totally just old disks with shit like Lotus 1-2-3 and stuff on them. They were supposed to all be reformatted and the content replaced with the game, but some must have slipped through the cracks. If you have one, you can see underneath the new label is the old label for whatever your disk happened to be from originally.
