I think Isaac sounds "cool" on paper but I don't like his time mechanic after seeing Mike demo it. Im concerned about the potentially high skill ceiling for making Isaac actually useful. You really have to cut your combos short, cover them with an assist or pre-emptively null a teleport with a super earlier in the match. So, solo Isaac seems absolutely terrible when you compare it to an Isaac with an assist. His specials and supers could of course remedy this. Yet, since his mechanic basically centers around frame data, it's actually kind of boring when you compare it to the other characters being proposed :x

Stop making so much sense, you're ruining Isaac's coolness!

Isaac is cool. =) Making it work is what will be interesting, what's on paper or what has been shown is far from definitive (which is the case with all characters). Time travel is nuts, if he can summon himself from various periods of his life, it will still be a visual spectacle.

Badass baby Isaac summon?

The thing to remember about Isaac is that when moves come out the startup is severely shortened on the move since you dont have to have startup frames for it occur till he teleports later in the match. They also have no recovery until after the teleport and you can both BLOCK and ATTACK at the same time due to this.

If you are worried about a mixup that is either gonna be a throw or strike on Oki you could simply pop one of these and cover all your bases.

For his combos the rhythm seems like it should be simple.

Do combo with a time travel move, timer counts down and instead of going for a normal hit on zero you ALWAYS hit assist to cover your teleport's startup and recovery. In other words instead of figuring out when the best time to add an assist to a combo is by yourself ISAAC TELLS YOU YOUR TIMING. Thats easier in my eyes. Plus anyone with next to zero startup on a move who is totally safe during it is dangerous as hell. Think how scary a good rekka is as a starter. Thats how I envision using Isaac's time travel specials...as super fast punishes to start combos.

I really dig Isaac's gimmick. The thing that will make him interesting is the paradoxes of being knocked out of teleports to the past that reward folks with the return of health or when they punish his future self and that makes him comeback in hitstun later from his teleport.

High risk high reward. He's either super fast or suffering huge recovery. I'm betting tagging him with Double's booty dive or Valentines dash would be good though. Those tags might buy him some time and push folks out. Of course anything that stays out for a lot of frames or that induces a lot of block stun or pushback is ideal for Isaac combos and coverage IMO.

God he is a hype concept.

Someone who actually is interested in Ottomo. You are a rare find.
Honestly his design is a bit eh, but the world needs more dancing characters.

Although if Adam is really Dan-like then I'll have to vote for him instead.

I applaud at the originality and freshness of your choices. I don't agree with them, but it's certainly refreshing to see in a flood of very vocal (and starting to become annoying) character fanboy-ism.
More like shallowness for choosing characters based on design and love for joke characters, but thank you :p
The cool characters will get picked in the end, so I'll delay my votes for them until later.

Shoutouts to Mike Z stating his ideas for some stuff he wants Beowulf to do.

Paraphrased because its like 4 am and I can't remember verbatim.
"I really want him to just unfold his chair and sit on it and then spank someone."

"He could throw the chair like Cap's shield then he could have to go pick it up, but if he does a throw or something and they hit the chair it could do more damage."

"He could have top rope moves like if he did the move off the chair."

"I reaaaaally like the idea that if you choose him as a tag partner that he doesn't go offscreen. That he is on screen sitting on his chair and you have to go over to him and like actually tag him and he could all do the high five tag in and stuff."

This all sounds amazing.

Beowulf must win.

BTW Ravidrath...If Beowulf is your Tag Partner will he announce your match until he is tagged in? If announcer packs are a thing having a pro wrestler do guest commentary sounds awesome.

Sabu inspired moveset? I like it.

Arabian Facebuster (Leg Drop with the chair beneath his legs), Triple Jump Moonsault (jump onto the chair, leap into the side of the screen and backflip off of the side onto the opponent) and even just running towards the chair and using it to catapult himself into the opponent should work.

Heck, let him do an El Generico style Brainbuster onto the chair while its unfolded.

And his theme song should be a knockoff of this:

Again, can anyone behind the scenes confirm to me that Beowulf is partly inspired by a Japanese tag team called GET WILD. I see a lot of similarites.

They better make it to robo-fortune and call the update when all the characters/stages/palettes/voices are selectable Skullgirls: Champion Edition. :D

Oh shit!

He should have a level one where he puts out a table and a level 3 where if you perform it close enough to the table they go through the table. If you win with that JR comes out of the side of the screen and says "As God as my witness, he is broken in half!!!"

Shame it doesn't look like we'll get to 825/50, but everything that's been accomplished is awesome. Who knows, they still may add more of these mystery characters later.

Someone should see what is going on and fund a sequel at some point, especially if this sells well on Steam.

Skullgirls is more about the fandom than the game, they should branch it out into non-fighters.

Haven't pledged, but just wanting to say that Beowulf is probably the most epic dude along with Kanji. I always preached that a folding chair is the mightiest weapon in existence.

I hope that either he, Brain Drain or Panzerfaust wins. Out of the female characters I only really like Juju.

Salty Umbrella is the greatest. I never want her voted into the roster. Annie on the other hand, well, they sure know who I'm most vested in seeing win the vote.

Holy shit. Okay, I think I'm starting to break ranks. #TeamBeowulf is looking better and better the more I hear about him.

As for 690k?

That last comment about Beowulf reminds me of Savage Reign's tag system and how your other team members would wait in the stage's backgrounds like in the old KoFs.

That's good news. I was unsure about which type of wrestling moves Mike was interested in emulating but so far he isn't disappointing and I'll have to look over my first picks again.
