RE5 Lost in Nightmares managed to be genuinely scary, even in co-op. I'll keep that in mind.
How do you know it isn't?
Sigh... Shadows of the Damned all over again.
Ok. I'll bite.
How.
At this point it's grown to 12: http://garaph.info/gamesearch.php?t...meid=&orderby=SalesLTD+DESC&res1=&res2=&opt=1

I added that note based off Famitsu numbers for context.
Started out with incredible hype as a new proper survival horror game (OMG MIKAMI! OMG YAMAOKA!), and with EA Partners backing to boot (back in 2008-ish when they were a semi-good publisher), it seemed like a match made in heaven. Then gradually as more media was released, the comedy and stylised action elements started surfacing, and it turned out that the final game was really just Suda 51 masturbating for 6 hours. Again.
ZWEI's hype seems to be following the same trajectory. I wouldn't be surprised if it's really just another action game and not proper survival horror like we were lead to believe - not that i'm complaining about this outcome after RE4 and Vanquish, but horror is an under-represented genre now in the AAA and console spaces.

I want static pre-rendered backgrounds, illogical puzzles and tank controls damnit!!!
If Nintendo didn't make sure there is a Wii U version, then I will be very pissed!
Because it's called an action game in the OP?
Wait what? Witcher 3 has multiplayer? It's also a AAA console game in 2013 or later.
It's generally the extreme rarity for those to not have multiplayer.
Even CD Projekt is jumping in the pool.
Some of Warner Montreal's job postings make me wonder about the next Batman title as well.
I suspect that if this does have multiplayer, it's being outsourced. Mikami has zero experience with multiplayer.Fine by me, no question for me at this point, after Vanquish? Nobody makes a better third person shooter than Mikami, so he may as well put a multiplayer component in it because it will probably be the best multiplayer in a third person shooter, industry-wide.

Havok is middleware that's essentially on everything; it's use doesn't really imply anything about platforms as far as I'm aware.Well, its using Havoc, and we know that engine is highly optimized for Wii U.
Action Game?
Co-op?
Now I'm interested. Would love to see Mikami evolve RE4 into RE5 himself
Wtf happened to this being survival horror?

Yeah, that's the genre. That doesn't mean it can't be a horror game too.
No, horror games are under the "adventure" genre, not action.
Job listings don't necessarily equate to confirmed elements of a title. Many things change, especially seeing as most of those are dated.
"I've found my focus and once again I'm striving for pure survivial horror. I am being very hands-on to see that the quality is there. Rest assured."
- Shinji Mikami
Upon hearing this, my first thought was "thank goodness for Zombi U".
Doesn't that have multiplayer too?
Yeah (though it's not conventional), but this makes me think coop. I loved Zombi because of how solitary it was and how desperate things were, though it did have interactions. I trust Shinji and will wait to see it, as I'm sure it will be a good game either way. I just hate the thought of coop, but maybe it will be unconventional and maintain a "survival" feeling.Doesn't that have multiplayer too?
I still have yet to play this. Always wanted to.RE5 Lost in Nightmares managed to be genuinely scary, even in co-op. I'll keep that in mind.

It's absolutely the perfect mix of old RE and new RE. It is *fantastic*. As much as I love RE6, if they stuck with LiN as the template for future RE games, I'd be ecstatic.
