It's definitely necessary. Both from story point (this type of excercises are much more effective, so staying in shape takes less time) as well as for the show itself. One of the best things about Arrow is that Manu and especially Ammell are belivable in their superhero levels of movements. I think that's the first time any superhero movie or show truly pulled this off. I guess Blade camed close, but Snipes wasn't as acrobatic.

Yep, the casts facebooks, twitters, instagrams, panels, interviews etc all make it pretty obvious they're having a blast doing this show. The only other show I've seen actors so happy is Supernatural.
