PSP {2004.12.12}

2012 CY {2011.12.26 - 2012.12.30} [PSV] Software Sales - 1.953.478 / 2.349.892

really drives home how miserable Vita software sales have been, people tend to focus on hardware sales but that's less than half of the already pretty mediocre PSP software sales. "but but digital sales" isn't going to work as an argument either.

GCN had a really outstanding software run in the beginning. Most of those 2001-2003 sales are from a few big titles!

3DS=5xVita

So 3DS Q1 SW <5,000,000

3 months after it launched in Japan. It was about three weeks later in America.

Yes, but it was the best game to have in its first year and it is pretty much evident with this:
Code:
2001-11-19	|	357,101	| 357,101
2001-11-26	| 62,506	| 419,607
2001-12-03	| 47,933	| 467,540
2001-12-10	| 74,555	| 542,094
2001-12-17	| 139,845	| 681,939
2001-12-24	| 116,971	| 798,910
2001-12-31	| 121,960	| 920,870

Nearly a million before the year ended.

I guess that with the exception of Dragon Quest X, no other Wii U third-party game reached 20.000 units this year.

I'm tempted to search it but this must be a new record of what early support means

[WIU] Fist of the North Star: Ken's Rage 2 <ACT> (Koei Tecmo) {2013.01.31} (¥8.190)
[WIU] Tank! Tank! Tank! <ACT> (Bandai Namco Games) {2013.02.21} (¥5.040)
[WIU] Need for Speed: Most Wanted U - A Criterion Game <RCE> (Electronic Arts) {2013.03.20} (¥6.615)
[WIU] Game & Wario <ETC> (Nintendo) {2013.03.28} (¥4.935)
[WIU] Dragon Quest X: Rise of the Five Tribes Online # <RPG> (Square Enix) {2013.03.30} (¥6.980)

The next two or three years follow that pattern. Small releases that do nothing and then games like Mario Kart or Zelda come out, create gigantic waves for a week or two, settle into decent sales and then die back to sell steadily below the charts, well, for Mario Kart at any rate.

Wait... wouldn't that comparison make more sense if the WiiU would have 12 months of sales just like the GC?

What is the software schedule for Vita for the rest of the year? I can only remember God Eater 2 and FFX-HD as the biggest games unreleased so far.

6/27 Toukiden(also coming to the PSP)
7/11 Ragnarok Odyssey Ace(also coming to the PS3)
7/25 Dragon's Crown(also coming to the PS3)

Tales of Festival is on June 1st so we'll probably see a Tales of the Tempest R announcement or something.

Is Tales of the Tempest R guaranteed to be the next Tales Vita game?

I still say Tempest R should be given to Dimps and put on 3DS, 7th Chord were the main folks behind the previous remakes (and got help from others, I think one was Digital Works).

Maybe if the original dev did the remake and they tried it on 3DS it might get better reception and better sales.

Also I just want some Dimps and Tales goodness on 3DS. I believe they can fix whatever were the issues in the DS game. Watching the game on YT, and to me the game looks very playable and actually pretty great looking graphically on DS.

If Namco wants so much to put another Tales game on the Vita, I think it might be better to just make the next one PS3-Vita. Unless these companies are making these remakes for one ramen dish per worker per day, I think a port would be cheaper, no?

So do you think this is good?
What may we expect for first week? Over 600k?
I guess we don't have any reliable shipments extimations, so I know everybody's guess is good as mine.

As far as I'm concerned I think it will break the first million mark in a couple of weeks.

The blog said if it kept the same pace of the first day it could do 3x to 4x times what the previous one did, or 300k to 400k. (It obviously doesn't mean it can't do 600k).

bunch software sales

Are these all complete sales (not top 30 and stuff)? Thanks!

for vita?

It would be such a stupid decision, bamco would probably do it. (or make it a Wii U exclusive).

I still don't understand why they haven't tried a few more Tales port on the 3DS after Abyss, it sold pretty decently after all(better than both the PSV remakes). And porting must be cheaper than remaking DS games, no?

geimin, bttb and leaked pdfs. You should have almost all of these.

You're right, I searched and I think I found them.

I was confused because I misread and thought it was calendar year for WS and NGP, but it's the fiscal year.

Thanks.
