I hope there ends up being some godlike weapon on this spaceship that ends up terraforming the planet. :D
Just my completely original idea.

That's why he's ignoring me ;_;
Probably, people dont see whats impressive about the X gif I dont see whats so hot about the killzone gif. What am I doing there.

Not only that(I plan on getting a ps4), killzone looks boring. I watched the gameplay trailer and it honestly looked like the same-old with a new shiny coat of paint.
Yea Ive played plenty of games like those this gen, got pretty burnt out.

I'm really happy that my favorite jrpg of all time is getting a successor so soon. In some ways I'm glad they took their sweet time to release the game on America because the wait would be even more unbearable.

I think it's sad they pretty much raped the color palette for Xenoblade but did the opposite for X.

Dat brown HD game curse.

X's palette might be subdued in comparison to XB's, but to characterize everything we saw in that trailer as "brown" would simply be disingenuous.

It's very washed out, hopefully they dial the saturation up.

That has to do with the poor quality of the video rather than the actual color spectrum of the game.

Here (still compressed to shit, but gives us a better look what the game'll look like):

Low bit rate, gamma overkill, horrendous compression, etc., I imagine, are what are contributing to a "washed-out" look.

Personally, the subdued colour palette seems intentional to me. I feel it gives the world a primordial look.

Also the UFO image, to me, feels like its implying the humans are aliens on this planet for some reason.

There's some level of subdued coloring, although I think the video and environment we are seeing is contributing to this, but the entire range of color spectrum can easily be seen during the trailer. Purples, greens, reds, blues, orange, etc. The game is not lacking in color palette. I doubt people will complain when we see an area that doesnt look like Bionis Leg.

well it looks like we're just seeing one area so far, so it could change. they could be sticking to a browner color palette for promo materials to make it appeal to the west. although it is possible the game is entirely like this :<

I wouldn't even be mad if Monolith made a Wii U MMO based on the world of Xenoblade after X is released. Exploit that amazing setting I say!

But what if this is that MMO?

Wait, does brown really appeal more to the West?

Wow, interestingly, I was thinking something along the very same lines, although, with a bit less to go on. The story I had imagined was;

This planet is home to precious resources which the humans - under corporations - are in search of. The first explorers consisting mainly of scientists and scouts - who discovered the planet - barely survived, and found out, unfortunately, that the planet is also home to extremely dangerous, and territorial creatures. The few survivors sends out becon for help - along with a confirmation that the planet is good for harvest - and your team arrives with full battle-ready gear(Mechs), search & rescue, and mining equipment.

Your daily duty of defending against/kiling creatures, mining, and searching for survivors is interrupted by an urgent incomming message informing you that your current adventure on the planet is about to get a lot more bloody... because word got out that the mother load of all resources is discovered on this planet, and rival corporations - from various colonized planets - are heading toward this new planet for the spoils. All...hell...breaks...loose!

I could be way off, of course, but looking at the setting, and the elements inside, it's tough not to imagine something along those lines.

So basically the plot of PSO? I'm ok with that :D

It absolutely is.

I feel it gives the world a primordial look.

And this is precisely what frustrates me about all those "brown" (this one being utterly false)/"needs more color" comments; it's that they pay little to no regard as to whether or not more color would be conductive to a more coherent overall package. We know nothing about the tone of the narrative, setting, or atmosphere they're trying to convey, but we somehow know that the game needs more color.

Doesn't make sense.

Also the UFO image, to me, feels like its implying the humans are aliens on this planet for some reason.

Mah boi. :D

It's a tad ridiculous to claim that every game that doesn't use the whole colour pallet a human eye can see does so because "HD game curse" or whatever.

Idk why but every time I see the trailer the main character w/ the black hair automatically reminds me of Chrom from FE. Maybe its just the similar hair cuts from behind.

How can anyone compare FF: Vaporware to a sequel of a game Square can only dream of creating. (I'm just wondering why everyone's hyped for Versus after 6-7 years)

If X gets a release date I'm buying a Wii U that second.

Damn, I can't wait to see what they've done with this. Xenoblade was probably my favourite game of the last console generation, and a multiplayer version of that would have to really screw up in order to disappoint.

i think a lot of people are excited to see if square-enix still has it in them to make a good game anymore. i'm excited to see it released but i don't really care about the game due to the action nature of it. they should've given it to platinum

It's quite crazy to think that a few years ago one could have had the impression that Monolith turned to shit after they were bought by Nintendo. Hard to believe that it was "only" 3-4 years between the acquisition and Xenoblade.

Yeah, even if it doesn't show up in the Western E3 Directs, it should at least show up in the Japanese one.

There is literally zero reason for it to not show up in Western Directs. This is an international thing. What happened with Xenoblade was special case of "we don't know what we've got and we don't really need it" during the Wii era while everything was fine and dandy.

Oh for sure I think it'll be released in the West, but Iwata has already said that the Japanese Direct would focus on titles for Japan. If X is before March 30th 2014 in Japan, but not until after in the West, I can see it only being in one and not the others.
