Gunpoint (Tom Francis) releases June 3rd, demo out now

http://www.gunpointgame.com/

$9 DRM free + Steam.

Gunpoint is for Windows only right now. Hope to do Mac and Linux versions next.
The main story takes most people about 3 hours to play through once.
You can replay any mission you’ve already completed with whatever gadgets you currently have, to try to earn different ratings for avoiding violence, kills, noise, witnesses, etc.
There’s a level editor. The levels it makes are saved as simple text files so they’re easy to share.
Pity the developer commentary is for the special edition only. Downloading now.

Been looking forward to this game for a while now and already preordered. I've played various test builds during its development, and the crosslink mechanic is really neat in execution. Highly recommend.

Only 4 posts? Come on people!

I got super excited when I read the twitter announcement an hour ago, and it's awesome that he's released a demo as well.

8 bucks is a steal, immediately pre-ordered.

I've been anticipating this game for some time.

Probably going to share this news with a bunch of my pals and coworkers.

Anyone playing the demo right now? The text message conversation is the greatest, haha!

Big fan of Tom "Master of Stealth" Francis from his work on the PC Gamer UK podcast, so I've heard lots about this. Excited to give it a whirl :)

Awesome news! I've been following this game for a long time now. Going with the Special Edition, in-game commentaries are something I really enjoy and would love to see more of them.
Just played through the demo and had a blast with it, looking forward to next week!

Damn, I was hoping I'd get to make the thread for it. The demo was amazing. Preordered it at the 27$ tier.

Visualante, do we want to keep using this thread for the release or can I call dibs for creating the release thread? (just asking, just asking >_>)

Did some speedrunning for the demo:

Total time, 2:05. Anyone feeling like beating that? I am sure there is still plenty of leeway in all of these levels for improvement.

Beating a demo in 2 minutes, shortest demo ever? ;p

Hadn't heard of this game until today. Downloaded the demo, played it and bought it immediately afterwards. Great game.

The demo is awesome. Solving each building is fun, but I also love the overall style of the game with the soundtrack and great art style.

Definitely buying this next week.

When he says "Also on Steam!" is he referring to the demo as well? It immediately follows the sentence about the demo, but I'm having a hard time finding it.

Nope, you can preorder on Steam, but the demo is on the website.

Thanks for the heads up. Remember seeing someone do a video of this a while back, looked really interesting.

Special Edition bought.

Played the demo last night. It's as fun as I thought it would be from the videos. The writing is surprisingly sharp which was unexpected.

What surprised me the most was the polished gameplay. It just feels "right", with the wire hacking allowing for the right amount of experimental creativity.

On another note, updated my times to 1:43

Played the demo and then went ahead and preordered.

This is the first 2D game that I have played that feels good with a KB/M.

Also, is there going to be an OT?

I'll make the release thread (Visualante gave his consent, didnt want to "steal" the thread from him). I probably wont be calling it "OT" though since otherwise the thread moves to Community after 30 days. I'll put it up on release day. Gotta take care of my Indie Games thread (which Gunpoint will be part of in june).

Excellent, I look forward to it.
