MS Cancels 1 on 1 Interviews with GB, GI.biz, Tapezilla...MCV?: "Scheduling conflict"

Lol, probably means they're not going to backtrack on much of their anti-consumer shit. Looking worse and worse for Microsoft.

Microsoft execs have all in all probably hundreds of interviews next week. Heck, when I'm there representing the worlds smallest publications even I get one on ones that sometimes have been cancelled. Or are these guys from major sites?

The BIGGEST sites are all getting cancelled right now. Basically the ones they couldn't pay off.

Man, it's like some of you guys are more excited to see MS fail than info about a new console :/

When did games stop becoming a fun hobby?

That is not at all what Klepek was saying on the Bombcast that week.

I havent listened to all the gaming podcasts since the Xbone reveal but I can say I have listened to the GiantBomb ones and they seemed overly understanding with a hint of wait and see thus far. So it would either have to be something blowing up behind he scenes, or MS choosing to avoid the hard questions.

In this day and age they can't just simply control the infomation the actions speak volumes. As a possible buyer of their console and software with all the bullshit there handing and them not countering it say to me that all the so called rumours are true which is a shame

This is getting pretty unreal. The reveal was lackluster but it's true that a great e3 would've swayed public opinion. Now it seems Microsoft may not even be confident in what they're going to show.

The xbone is connected to the PR bone, the PR bone is connected to the exec bone, the exec bone is connected to the shareholder bone...

It's like Steve Ballmers wet dream, but only if at the very last minute it turned into a nightmare featuring an undead Margaret Thatcher boning a badger.

It's all gone so so wrong.

Amazing!

Surely this has to be a sign to anyone who still have faith in Microsoft that things arent right and maybe its time to realise Microsoft doesnt give a shit other than selling their shitty box to you regardless of any concerns you may have.

I haven't seen anyone talking about cancellations other than Patrick's. Could you (or whomever) please provide some links to where the "BIGGEST sites" are saying they're getting their interviews cancelled?

Jokes aside, these cancellations with the round table send a very clear message. MS is not prepared to answer questions that they don't control. Not being able to give clear answer to important question is partly why their PR is so fucked right now.

Makes sense after what happened last time.

They're obviously going to get hammered with tough questions like DRM, power difference, etc and they probably don't have any good answers to those questions. It's best to just keep quiet and control the message.

I am so confused, they cancelled ONE INTERVIEW. Why has this thread gone INSANE? Xbox, Pizza.

Microsoft was probably Quizzing Phil Harrison and prepping him with PR manufactured answers, but he kept failing to remember the answers over and over so they decided it was best to cancel all communications with game journos before Phil Harrison will screw Microsoft again with his honest answers.

In a way I can see Microsoft's logic in doing this. Being the first to have their conference they would be bombarded with questions and no matter what their answers are people will be upset.

However if they hold off on interviews it then goes to Sony to answer the same questions about used games, DRM, always online and depending on their answers they may take some flack for it.

After this they can schedule interviews and reveal their policy but it will come after Sony has made their position known. Maybe MS knows Sony is doing similar things and wants them to be first.

interesting that the few people in US games media who apparently had not drunk the MS Kool-Aid got their interviews canceled...

Are MS scared of having to answer actual questions?

Again, there's this:

GamesIndustry International has been told by Microsoft that it will not be offering press any time with senior executives to discuss the Xbox One business during E3

Curious. I think we'll need a little more evidence but if they cancelled the round table and several 1-on-1 interviews then I can't imagine how MS comes out on the other end of E3.

When it stopped being about making and playing fun games and became about targeted advertising.
